New World with Four Husbands-Chapter 32: Waterfall
Chapter 32: Waterfall
"Do you want something different to eat, Coco?" Lala asked, flying over to Coco’s head and tilting her head.
Apparently, when Coco said that she would kill to eat fried chicken or fried rice, Lala had woken up a few minutes earlier and heard what she said. Since then, Lala has been on to her.
"No, not really. I told you that we can cook fried chicken later if this world has it." Coco answered for the nth time, glancing at Lala and smiling her way.
"But.. What if you get tired of the fruits I grow? I don’t want that." Lala pouted, looking down on the ground as she flew over to Coco’s shoulder and took a seat.
She carefully made her way down the mountain path, her steps careful and measured, not wanting to accidentally trip and hurt herself.
Both her and Lala are on the way to the waterfall, wanting to change her bathing area and she wanted to try how it would feel to take a bath on the waterfall like how people take a bath in the movies she watched.
The ground was uneven under her feet, the path covered in loose stones and fallen leaves. The air was cool, fresh, and crisp, the scent similar to pine trees and earth filling her nose.
As she walked, she could hear the sound of birds and insects in the trees, their chittering and chirping creating a pleasant background noise. She moved slowly, taking her time to safely make her way down the mountain.
"If you get tired of the fruits I grow, I would be useless to you and you might ask for some fairy else! I don’t want that, Coco!" Lala exclaimed, hugging Coco’s cheek and shoving her face against the side of Coco’s face.
Lala has been expressing how much she does not like other fairies to come with Coco. Saying that she met Coco first and that she was the one who killed her so she has to take responsibility for Coco’s wellbeing.
Coco could only shake her head with a small smile creeping into her lips. This might be considered as clingy and insufferable to the other people, but the fairy was too cute for her own good. ƒreewebɳovel.com
"I really won’t get tired of the fruits, Lala." Coco assured the red fairy for the nth time with a sigh, "It’s a good meal, good snack, and good drink, too. It’s healthy. It’s three in one— like a pack of coffee I get from my previous world."
"Is that a good thing?" Lala asked, leaning her body on Coco’s cheek.
"It is." Coco chuckled and raised her hand, rubbing Lala’s head in an affectionate manner, "It’s what the elders, students, and workers up most of the time."
"So, it helps them? Even you?" Lala tilted her head and leaned further into Coco’s finger, loving the way how her human friend shows her affection.
Coco hummed to answer Lala’s question, focusing on her path and walked slowly down the mountain, her eyes taking in the surrounding scenery.
The trail was steep, but she navigated the uneven ground with weird ease, her footsteps confident and steady, each step forward was somehow calculated and she normally does this whenever she is on her way to the university.
Yet, she is doing this on a mountain trail? She could not help, but feel proud of herself.
The sound of birdsong and rustling leaves are her only companions now that Lala’s being quiet. Despite the unexplainable excitement, she felt happy, her mood and energy lifted by the beauty of the mountain and the thrill of the descent.
Then, with a final step, she had reached the location she was heading to.
The stream that leads to a waterfall stood in the middle of the forest, the water cascaded down a steep cliff, throwing up a misty cloud of spray as it hit the deep pool of cool, clear water at its base.
The mist that hung in the air, filling the forest with a soft, almost made the scene almost magical.
The water flowed over the rocks with a powerful force, its surface churning and foaming as it hit the bottom. The sound of the rushing water was loud and powerful, creating a constant roar that filled the air.
Yet, it was also both soothing and energizing.
The water was clear, sparkling like liquid jewels and a thin mist rose from the base of the waterfall, adding a touch of magic to the scene— it was clear and bright, the sunlight dancing upon its surface.
Fallen leaves and petals floated upon the surface, giving the water a soft, glowing hue.
Tall trees lined the edges of the waterfall, their leaves whispering softly against the breeze and the surrounding trees seemed to stand guard, their branches reaching out like protective arms around the waterfall.
The waterfall was surrounded by lush greenery, the whole area seeming like a natural sanctuary.
"It’s so beautiful that I feel bad that I’m going to use it for a change location to take my bath." Coco commented, scratching the back of her head with a guilty expression on her face.
Of course, the good and kind fairy was quick to shoot down that guilt down the drain with a huff, "You wanted to have a luxurious bath! This is as close to luxurious as we can get so don’t feel bad!"
Coco smiled as soon as she heard Lala’s assurance, but that smile quickly disappeared from her face when a familiar notification sound echoed on the back of her head.
The scroll system appeared before her eyes, making her frown at its sudden arrival.
