Norvax continued silently pondering what could have caused such a drastic change.

" The boy adapted to survive. "

Norvax's eyes widened at the sound of the voice in his head.

He slowly looked up, without betraying any emotion.

"Pardon me, ma'am but have you heard of the word privacy?" He thought,

his eyes slowly drifting to Victoria.

Victoria met his gaze expressionlessly before turning to see the next youth that had been called forth.

Norvax smirked.

"Speechless are we now..."

He promptly allowed his thoughts to drift in a particular direction remembering a time he'd had a particularly violent stomach upset after trying out extreme chilli ice-cream.

A frown abruptly appeared on Victoria's face, ruining her serene expression. Her face darkened almost instantly, her lips pursing distastefully.

A faint smile appeared on Norvax's face.

" Now that's more like it."

The examiner's voice rang out clearly, calling the next Talented Individual.

"Amanda Gardner."

Several whispers echoed through the hall once more.

After a while, a silent figure moved through the crowd, her red hair easily standing out in the crowd of Talented.

Amanda silently entered the Chronobox.

Without a word,

her eyes lit up with an ethereal crimson light. Her longer silky red hair slowly floated up into the air, the space around rippling and shifting slightly.

A faint scent of ozone permeated the air in the large hall.

Just then, several new figures silently streamed into the hall.

Emily turned, instantly spotting the insignia of ghetto scions from different Houses.

"They're here too?"

Two figures in particular stood out.

A giant of a man stepped into the hall, a faint smile playing on his lips. His muscles rolled visibly in his suit, straining the dark fabric.

Next to him, a dark-haired young man arrayed in robes that signified the House stared ahead.

"Lucian..."

At almost the exact, almost as though he'd heard her thoughts, Lucian's head turned ever so slightly,

sparing her a brief glance. His lips faintly curved for a split second, his russet eyes softening for a moment.

" He has changed...a lot..."

Another pair of glasses had replaced the old ones he'd had in Tebebris.

He'd mysteriously lost his ever-present glasses in Tenebris after a particularly taever-present th one of the the lightning moose.

Still, he'd managed to return with the prized horns from their quarry.

Lucian walked with an unnatural grace, just melding into the presence of the figure walking before him, therefore effectively avoiding most of the crowd.

In the next second, he moved past her, moving to the very end of the hall with his father.

At the centre of the hall, the Chronobox was spun at a terrific speed expanding outward.

It's whirled at impossible speed increasing in size, and adapting to the increasingly violent discharge from Amanda's ability.

The very air in the hall sizzled audibly, tiny red sparks of current swishing all around her. Despite the chaos unfolding around her, Amanda remained standing.

Then a change began to occur.

Slowly at first then even more vividly.

The red sparks slowly began to morph, gradually turning to a brilliant electric blue colour.

[Elemental Type Talented detected]

[Calibrating...]

Cedric Ash nodded at the three members of the Videntis present,

noting the fourth in the shadows.

He sat down, estranged foe Lucian to stand at his side.

He turned his gaze to the Chronobox analyzing the device with curiosity.

" So this is the famed Chronobox," he murmured.

"Yes, it's one of our most brilliant inventions up to date..." Thrain whispered from the shadows.

Cedric raised an eyebrow.

"While I'm aware of his power, it's still quite unsettling to hear his voice like this..."

A faint smile appeared on Victoria's face, her eyes drifting to him for a brief instant.

Within the Chronobox,

Amanda increased the output of her power.

Several tendrils of electricity exploded from her fingertips,

zapping through the air.

The red tendrils turned a brilliant blue colour, unnaturally gliding around her.

"She has exceptional control over her primary ability," Aisha remarked with a gentle smile, lightly tapping her cane on the ground.

Just then, the glow in Amanda's eyes slowly shifted, turning to a strange mixture of deep crimson pupils and brilliant blue irises.

The temperature in the room slowly increased and the very air around them began to vibrate with energy.

[Name: Amanda Gardner]

[Rank: Class A-4]

[Primary ability: Lightning]

Description: possesses high-order electrokinesis, allowing her to generate, manipulate, and discharge electrical energy with extreme precision.

[Ability has potential to evolve...]

[Secondary abilities: Seer, Flight, ???]

Description

[Seer: Neurological scans indicate periods of increased cortical conductivity and precognition.]

[Flight: Subject can generate and control localized air currents independent of electrical discharge. Atmospheric pressure shifts observed during power escalation suggest active influence over surrounding airflow.]

[???: Undetermined anomaly detected during peak power escalation.]

Darius frowned slightly, his eyes narrowing.

"Another unknown?"

Once could easily be dismissed as an anomaly. But twice in a row?

He turned to Norvax but the shorter man was already moving.

Norvax strode ahead whispering a few instructions to the agent nearest to the Chronobox.

Shortly after, he tapped his comlink, enveloping himself in an invisible soundproof shield.

A subtle ripple through the air was the only sign of the shield's activation.

"Hey, it's me..."

" I know it's you," a gruff voice replied on the other end.

" Whaddaya need?"

Norvax grinned.

" I need you to look into something for me..."

Back on the stage, Amanda slowly stepped out of the Chronobox.

Her eyes drifted over to where Emily stood in the crowd, lingering on he for a brief moment before making her way back into the crowd.

" Damn, did you see that?"

" That was literally electric." A scion joked, shivering slightly.

Most of the comments came from the scions.

Witnessing Chronoevaluation was something that normally only happened for the Takented but for the first time, it was being witnessed by outsiders. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"Well, Amanda's grown a lot stronger..." Edmund murmured.

Warren spared him a brief glance.

"Yes, but she's still not strong enough..."

His dark lifeless eyes drifted to Emily.

" Not yet..."
