No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 433 - 431: Can’t Escape [1st Update]
She thought, Liam Spencer was sick, and she wanted to avenge her brother. There wouldn’t be a better opportunity than this.
On the phone, Maya Spencer frowned tightly, feeling that Ella Turner was very strange. She hung up too quickly and seemed pretty nervous about Liam, which was unlike her.
However, she couldn’t quite pinpoint what was wrong with Ella, as lately, Ella hadn’t mentioned anything about false evidence or questioned the cause of the car accident. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Maya thought that Ella had made peace with it, already accepted Ethan Turner’s death, and wasn’t getting fixated anymore.
Then, she glanced over at her phone, shrugged helplessly, and tossed it onto the sofa nearby.
On the large bed, Liam Spencer noticed the girl seemed preoccupied. Sitting on the bed and looking at her, he asked, "Is Ella okay?"
Maya listened to Liam’s question, immediately put on a sweet smile, shook her head, and said, "Ella’s fine, she said she’ll visit you later."
"Little one, why do you still look so sulky?" Liam noticed Maya wasn’t willing to say more, so he didn’t press further.
Maya looked at the man’s doting gaze, bit her lower lip, and walked closer to the large bed, sitting slowly beside him.
When Liam reached out to touch her face, Maya suddenly leaned down, got close to his face, and gave him a loud kiss on the lips. Showing off, she said, "See? You can’t escape now!"
"Haha..." Maya amused Liam, his large hand that was on her neck quickly moved to her face, rubbing her plump cheeks vigorously to show his affection.
Being with Maya made Liam increasingly feel like they were dating; every little move of hers would brighten his mood and make him grin widely.
Maya saw the man’s affectionate gaze, her little hands foolishly holding his face, staring at him, grinning constantly, as if all the past grievances between them were matters from a previous life, and she couldn’t remember them anymore.
Now, all she could see was Liam’s tenderness and his kindness towards her.
Maya herself couldn’t quite explain her feelings for Liam, only knowing she had gotten used to being by his side and his gentleness; if he wasn’t well, she’d be worried.
Faced with each other, after exchanging some playful gestures, Maya leaned unreservedly against Liam, listening to his heartbeat.
Even though there wasn’t any spoken exchange between them, their simple embrace was enough to make them happy.
In the bedroom, Maya was taking care of Liam while waiting for Ella’s arrival. Ella had been in a hurry to come over on the phone. However, it wasn’t until four o’clock in the afternoon that Ella followed Aunt Smith into Maya and Liam’s bedroom.
At that time, the two were sitting on the bed watching TV, and Maya had already fallen asleep on Liam’s shoulder.
Ella stood at the study door, looking at the harmonious scene before her with extreme unwillingness, thinking Liam caused her brother’s death yet lived so joyfully, this upset Ella. Yet, she didn’t display her displeasure outwardly and stood with a gentle smile behind Aunt Smith.
Aunt Smith looked at the two on the bed, then smiled slowly and said, "Young Master, Miss Turner is here to see you. She bought fruit and milk for you, I’ll put them downstairs, and later I’ll make a fruit salad to send up to you and the young Mrs."
"Thank you, Aunt Smith." Liam thanked Aunt Smith, then nodded at Ella and said, "Thank you!"
Ella awkwardly smiled, making sure not to reveal any abnormality.
Next, Liam raised his right hand and gently tapped Maya’s small face leaning on his shoulder, calling out, "Maya, Ella’s here."
After several calls, Maya opened her eyes, and upon seeing Ella, her eyes widened, and she quickly climbed out of bed to greet Ella.
When Maya approached Ella, she noticed her eyes were red, knowing without asking that she must have thought of Ethan Turner again.
Upon seeing Maya awake, Ella only then explained with a composed smile, "I was busy with something, so I only came now."
"Third Brother’s fever has gone down, just his mental state isn’t great, and he needs rest," Maya said while pulling Ella to sit on the bedroom sofa, without asking about her red eyes.
On the bed, when Liam glanced towards Ella, she happened to be looking at him, and their eyes met. Ella’s gaze suddenly dodged a bit, followed by a forced smile as she called, "Principal."
"Mm!" Liam answered coldly, as he wasn’t very warm to anyone other than Maya.
On the sofa, while Ella chatted with Maya, her gaze continuously swept around the room, seemingly quite curious about Liam and Maya’s bedroom.
After chatting for a short while, Maya pulled Ella to the study in the bedroom, leaving the bedroom for Liam to rest.
However, sitting on the bed, Liam did not rest but picked up a book from the bedside and began to flip through it.
About 20 minutes later, Ella’s phone suddenly rang. After hanging up, she looked at Maya with some embarrassment.
Maya saw Ella’s embarrassing expression, quickly stood up from the sofa, walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, and grabbed her arm, asking, "Ella, is there anything wrong?"
"My brother’s company called saying his belongings are sorted, along with bonuses, salary, and compensation ready for distribution, asking me to go fill out the paperwork and retrieve my brother’s items. Maya, I want you to come with me."
This call seemed to have triggered her sadness again, causing her mood to suddenly become low.
However, Maya was in a dilemma. If under normal circumstances, she wouldn’t hesitate to accompany Ella, but Liam was sick today, still lying in bed, and she didn’t want to leave him.
Even though Liam was an adult with plenty of servants at home, Maya felt inexplicably attached, thinking it was her responsibility to be by his side when he was ill.
So she wavered and hesitantly asked, "Ella, couldn’t it be done tomorrow? Third Brother’s mental state isn’t very well now."
"This matter has been dragged on for too long; I fear delays could bring uncertainty, so I want to go immediately."
Actually, a few days ago, Ethan’s company had called Ella, but she hadn’t gone because of her bad mood. After hanging up on Maya’s call around noon today, the company called again, but she asked them to call her back at 4:30 to confirm her timing.
Ella’s request was quite inexplicable, as the company thought she should be the one to call at 4:30 to inquire if relevant personnel was available to handle the matter.
However, given that the deceased was her brother, they didn’t fuss over the procedure with Ella and agreed to her request.
