Chapter 443: Chapter 441: Aren’t You? [1st Update]

In an instant, Maya Spencer was stunned, her bent body stuck in mid-air, motionless, completely frozen.

On the big bed, Liam Spencer looked at the girl’s dumbfounded look and disdainfully raised his right hand, poking her forehead with his finger, pushing her away.

Maya, who was pushed away, stood by the big bed, staring at Liam as if he didn’t recognize her. She was at a loss for words, unable to accept that Liam had forgotten her.

After a moment’s daze, Maya cautiously approached Liam again, sat down beside him, waved her small hand, and asked, "Brother Christopher, I’m Maya, do you remember me?"

However, Liam just looked her over with a very disdainful gaze, then lifted the thin quilt covering him, propped himself up on the bed, and sat up.

When he lifted his leg off the bed, he found himself weak all over, his vision blurry, alternating between darkness and brightness, the room seemed to be spinning. Having lain for two nights and three days, he was not used to the light when he saw it again.

Seeing him trying to get up, Maya immediately pushed him back down, lowered her head, and asked him seriously, "Brother Christopher, don’t you remember me?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

"Who are you? Are we supposed to be close?" Liam frowned deeply, as if he really didn’t remember her.

"Close? Of course, we’re close. We sleep on the same bed every day. How could we not be? Look at me carefully, you’ll definitely remember."

"Sorry, I can’t remember." Liam dismissively brushed off her small hand on his shoulder and sat up on the bed again, ready to get off.

When his foot hit the ground, his body wobbled, unsteady, so he said with a bit of impatience, "Aren’t you going to give me a hand?"

Maya quickly supported him, followed his steps, and walked towards the bathroom.

When they stopped at the bathroom door, Liam suddenly halted, turned around, and looked at Maya with deep suspicion, asking, "I’m going to take a shower. Are you sure you want to go in with me?"

Maya giggled, raised her right hand, gently patted his chest, and said, "It’s not like I haven’t seen you before, why be shy?"

"..." Liam was speechless.

Then he said very seriously, "Considering how shameless you are, your tip will be satisfactory."

Upon hearing the word "tip," Maya exploded; her previously mischievous smile instantly disappeared. She tilted her head back, her eyes wide open, as if she wanted to swallow Liam whole.

Clearly provoked by Liam, she raised her right hand and slapped his chest heavily, angrily cursing.

"You bastard! What do you take me for? Do you think I’m here to scam your money?"

"Aren’t you?"

Maya was so infuriated by Liam’s questioning that she was fuming with rage, hands on her hips, sarcastically retorting, "You remember your money but forget me? It seems I’m less important than your money."

Maya was upset, thinking that Liam remembered he had a lot of money, but forgot her. It made her feel unbalanced.

But she couldn’t do anything to him; after all, he had amnesia!

Thinking of the word ’amnesia,’ Maya chuckled bitterly to herself. Indeed, the longer one lives, the more one encounters everything, even such clichéd things like amnesia.

She looked again at Liam, who was staring at her suspiciously. Impatiently, she rolled her eyes at him and disdainfully waved her small hand, saying, "Go, go! Hurry up and shower."

As for Liam, he was thoroughly frustrated, so much so that she was unwilling to speak to him further.

The man saw Maya’s arrogant attitude and immediately pinched her chin, harshly warning, "I don’t care who you are, don’t get close to me. Be polite when you talk to me."

Listening to his warning, Maya bit her lower lip, fiercely rolled her eyes at him, raised her small hand, slapped away his hand pinching her chin, pushed him into the bathroom, closed the door behind him, then turned and walked out of the ward to report Liam’s amnesia to the doctor.

In the doctor’s office, the doctor listened to Maya’s report, adjusted his glasses, and said, "This situation might only be temporary. Due to prolonged oxygen deprivation to the brain, he may have forgotten certain people or events from certain time periods. When Young Master Christopher’s friends arrive, the symptoms will be clearer. I will accompany you to take a look now."

"No need, he’s showering now. His friends will be here soon. I’ll observe for now, then give you a detailed report. We can do a full examination in the afternoon."

Maya refused the doctor’s current diagnosis; even if he examined now, he wouldn’t be able to diagnose anything immediately. It would be better to wait for Christopher Scott and the others to come and then assess the situation.

The most urgent thing now was to make Liam remember her. That bastard, forgetting everyone but her was unacceptable; it left her speechless, especially when she thought he liked her so much! Just thinking about it was embarrassing.

When Maya returned to the ward again, Liam happened to be coming out of the bathroom.

When Maya’s eyes landed on him, the guy simply scratched his half-dry, half-wet hair indifferently, gave her a disdainful glance, and asked, "You’re still here?"

The man’s cold attitude made Maya panic. Thinking about how she had gone through so much trouble and just started to really like him, how could he forget her? What would she do in the future? Stay or leave? Why lose his memory now, of all times?

If he had forgotten earlier, at least she wouldn’t have cared whether he remembered her or not. But now, she cared.

So, Maya quickly rushed in front of Liam, grabbed his arm with her left hand, waved her small hand with her right hand, and said, "Brother Christopher, it’s okay if you don’t remember me."

Then she pointed to herself with her index finger and asked, "Look at me, don’t you still like someone as pretty as I am?"

Liam looked at the girl’s anxious and flustered appearance, wanting to laugh but holding it in, pretending to be aloof, and responded, "Does my current attitude look like I like you?"

"You used to like me a lot, you were really good to me. Look closely, I’m very pretty, very likable." Liam’s icy attitude was driving Maya crazy.

"Very average."

"..." Maya was speechless, thinking, who is this person? He doesn’t even have any aesthetic sense.

At this moment, she felt an urge to hit someone.

Liam saw her release her small hand from his arm, looked at the hint of loss in her eyes, and slowly walked to the hospital bed, nonchalantly sitting down. He raised his head, casually glanced at her, and asked.

"Are you sure I ever said I liked you?"

Liam’s question instantly revived Maya, who immediately sat down beside him, desperately nodded, and said, "Yes, yes! You said you liked me a lot."

"How did I say it?"

The man’s question left Maya embarrassed because Liam had never confessed to her, although there was one time he almost did, but she interrupted him.
