Chapter 454: Chapter 452: Seeking Another Path [4 Updates]

"What’s the benefit?"

"What kind of benefit do you want?"

"I want you."

"You cheeky devil."

Maya smiled and turned the steering wheel to the right, heading towards Owen Clan Group. She thought about how Liam missed her so much that he couldn’t work, and the smile on her lips grew wider. It seems she really lived up to the reputation of being a femme fatale.

In the office, Liam had just hung up the phone when the office door was knocked.

Having just finished talking to Maya, Liam felt invigorated and said, "Come in."

Soon, Seven pushed the door open and entered.

"Third brother, how come you didn’t take a few more days off?" Seven asked politely.

"Too much to do," Liam said, helplessly. He wished he could lounge at home with Maya day and night, but someone had to earn money.

"That’s true." Seven echoed his sentiment, clearly preoccupied.

Upon hearing Seven’s downcast tone, Liam lifted his head and glanced at her, asking, "Seven, is there something on your mind?"

"Yes!" Seven nodded awkwardly. She was here for a favor.

It was her first time asking for help, and she didn’t know how to begin. Moreover, she had grown up with Liam and his siblings, so suddenly asking him for help felt awkward to her, like her character was suddenly depreciated and not as innocent as before.

Nevertheless, she still came, unable to bear the thought of the company going bankrupt.

Liam saw her discomfort and put down the documents in his hand, seriously looking at her, asking, "Facing some difficulties?"

Liam’s question was just what Seven needed to continue talking. She sat up straight, looked directly into Liam’s eyes, and reported, "Yes! Right now, Murray Corporation is down to just a brand name and two buildings. The shareholders have withdrawn their investments and emptied the capital reserve. The bank is unwilling to loan me money. I’m now focused solely on developing the ToGigi brand, but I don’t even have the funds for promotion afterward. Two domestic companies have taken a liking to our designs and want to acquire them, but I want to do it on my own, not as someone else’s second-line brand, ghostwriter, or warehouse."

"Third brother, I want you to help me. Please invest in ToGigi and assist with the promotion. I want to get it into Owen Clan Group’s department stores, airports, airlines, and various hotels and resorts. If my brand can gain Owen Clan’s support, ToGigi will definitely soar in reputation. Here is my proposal. Since I have no funds, I can transfer 50% of ToGigi’s shares to you. We can be equal partners. What do you think?"

"Or if you have other ideas, we can discuss them. I just don’t want to see ToGigi buried, and I don’t want my team to be overlooked."

Liam took the proposal Seven handed over, took a deep breath, and calmly said, "Seven, you don’t need to give me shares. You want to use Owen Clan’s platform to promote your brand, I fully support you. Whatever amount of funding you need, it’s okay. Just think of it as a loan."

"However, you know I usually don’t handle brand promotions. These things are primarily managed by Christopher and Scott Clan Group for me. You can discuss this with Christopher and just tell him I’ve already agreed."

"..." As she heard Liam’s words, Seven felt like crying. She knew he’d be waiting for her here, which was why she brought up the issue of cutting shares. However, she hadn’t expected him to lead her back into deeper trouble.

She knew the brand promotion was handled by Scott Clan Group. She just wanted to bypass Christopher, which was why she came directly to Liam, but she still couldn’t avoid Christopher.

Seven felt troubled, blinking her big eyes, looking pitifully at Liam, seemingly asking him to give her a break, to bypass Christopher and sign the contract with her.

Thus, she stammered and hesitated, starting to play the sympathy card with Liam, saying with grievance, "Third brother, can’t you make an exception for this project? Can’t you handle it directly?"

"Seven, you know that’s breaking the rules. How about I call Christopher now?" Liam clearly knew she was troubled but still pushed her towards Christopher.

Although this seemed quite cheeky, he felt powerless. Christopher was his brother who had been through thick and thin with him, and he knew of his feelings for Seven. How could he not give him a push? And this person, despite his age, still played the aloof act. Since Seven came back, she hadn’t even talked to Christopher much.

Back then, when this guy left, he did so silently, and now upon returning, he remained indifferent. Christopher had waited for her all these years, whether they would come together or separate, there should be some clarity!

So this time, Liam was forcing Seven to speak to Christopher. That guy might seem nonchalant, familiar with any inappropriate situation, yet he’s actually more proper than anyone else, never doing anything unethical, only afraid of failing Seven. Christopher upheld his fidelity so earnestly for her all these years, where would she find another good man like that?

Seven looked at Liam, who was full of antics, pursing her lips as she pitifully said, "No, I’ll go find him myself! If you call, it’ll be even more complicated."

Seven understood more about Christopher’s temperament; if he knew she bypassed him to find Liam, that rascal would surely make things difficult for her, not allowing a smooth collaboration. It’d be better to wait until he caused her trouble first, then come to Liam for help which would be a more legitimate reason.

Therefore, as she left, she requested pitifully, "Third brother, if Christopher goes too far, you have to help me."

"Seven, Christopher won’t be able to outwit you in this, you can learn a thing or two from Maya."

Liam was hinting to her that Christopher liked her, so she wouldn’t lose. As for learning from Maya, it was nothing more than her soft tactfulness and charm, doing so would make Christopher willing to give her half of his empire, why worry about the fate of Morris Family?

Seven listened to Liam’s reminder, pulling a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes, closed the door, and left.

In her car, she was conflicted, wondering if she really should beg Christopher or find another way?

In Liam’s office, soon after Seven left, Maya arrived.

She pushed the door open, staring suspiciously at Liam, asking, "Third brother, did you bully Seven? I saw her car leaving as I parked just now. I honked at her, but she didn’t respond. She seemed to be in a bad mood."

Maya is four years younger than Seven; according to age, she should call Seven sister. But according to family hierarchy, Seven should call her sister-in-law, which felt awkward for both women, so they simply called each other by name. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

At the desk, upon seeing Maya arrive, Liam immediately opened his arms and said, "Little one, come over and give me a hug."

Maya watched Liam’s eager manner, rolled her eyes playfully, walked over slowly, lifted her left leg, sat cross-legged on his lap, hands resting on his shoulders, and asked, "Did you bully Seven?"
