No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 456 - 454: Much More Astute [Part 2]
In an instant, Seven was stunned by the yelling. She had known Christopher Scott for 26 years and he had been in her memory for 22, yet it was the first time he shouted at her so seriously. Her pride was hurt, and she felt extremely uncomfortable. Moreover, in her entire life, it was the first time someone had yelled at her.
Even though she was quite mischievous back in her school days, often displeasing Xavier Graham and the others, no one had ever yelled at her.
However, she took a deep breath, held it in, and said with great grievance, "I’m sorry!"
The words "I’m sorry" coming from Seven’s mouth were not easy.
Christopher Scott looked at the timid and submissive girl and realized she was putting aside all her dignity to plead with him. So, he didn’t continue to rage but instead casually grabbed her business proposal from the table and began to flip through it.
As he looked at Seven’s proposal, the smile on his lips kept changing—sometimes disdainful, sometimes mocking, but without a hint of appreciation.
Seven watched the man’s ever-changing expressions, her face growing more and more unpleasant. As expected, as she thought, getting a contract signed by Christopher Scott wasn’t going to be easy.
About five or six minutes later, Christopher Scott had roughly scanned through the proposal.
Then, he suddenly threw the proposal onto the table, spun his office chair halfway, and sat sideways, clasping his hands together, resting them nonchalantly on the chair, furrowing his brows, and staring coldly at Seven with a cold laugh.
After laughing, he raised his right hand, pointed at the proposal on the table with his index finger, and mocked, "Seven, after 7 years, you’ve gotten quite shrewd. How dare you bring out this kind of unfounded, get-something-for-nothing collaboration?"
Christopher Scott’s sarcasm made Seven blush. She knew her proposal was quite aggressive and no company would sign it. But wasn’t she counting on her good relationship with Liam Spencer and the others to pull her up? This was a friendship-based collaboration, not one solely driven by profit.
Of course, she planned to pay them back once she made money in the future, but for now, she had no choice.
So, in a state of helplessness, she decided to bring up Liam Spencer. She said, "Third brother has already agreed. The platform can promote me for free, and the funds are just a loan; he doesn’t even want any shares."
At this point, she could only call upon Liam Spencer, a powerful ally, to suppress the demonic energy—indeed, to her, Christopher Scott was that demonic energy.
Christopher Scott wasn’t surprised at all when she brought up Liam Spencer. Liam Spencer was just that kind of person, which is why everyone followed him so loyally. If it weren’t for his help back then, the Scott Clan Group wouldn’t be where it is today.
He knew in his heart that Liam Spencer didn’t sign the contract directly with Seven because he wanted to give him a chance to resolve their past grievances.
However, given Seven’s current attitude, Christopher Scott had no desire to confess his feelings to her. Even if he did confess, it would only result in being mocked by this woman and nothing more.
Therefore, he sneered and said, "How come Third Brother is becoming less and less sensible, agreeing to such a losing deal? Seven, you should go back! I’ll keep the proposal for now, and if I have any objections, I’ll call you."
Even after bringing up Liam Spencer, Christopher Scott still didn’t sign the contract. Since Liam Spencer had left it to him to handle, he definitely wouldn’t interfere. Moreover, even if Liam Spencer hadn’t instructed him, signing the contract was only a matter of time. But before doing that, he needed to prick Seven’s arrogance, making sure she wasn’t acting so superior.
There was also the misunderstanding from seven years ago. That person didn’t even give him a chance to explain before leaving, and he still couldn’t swallow that resentment.
Christopher Scott thought, Seven should indeed learn from Maya Spencer. Even such an impressive figure like Maya knows how to act coy and win Third Brother’s favor. How come Seven keeps regressing, becoming increasingly childish?
Thinking about the conflict between them both, Christopher Scott scratched his head out of frustration.
When Seven saw Christopher Scott telling her to wait for a call, she didn’t dwell on it any longer. Even though she was anxious inside, she still got up to say goodbye.
She knew that if she wanted Christopher Scott to sign this proposal, that bastard wouldn’t trample on her self-esteem. So, as she left his office, she took a deep breath, silently encouraging herself—Seven, since you’ve taken the first step, you must persevere. Once you turn things around, you won’t have to care about Bitch Scott’s attitude anymore.
Even though she’d already comforted herself, her hands still couldn’t help but tremble while gripping the steering wheel on the way back.
Seven had been a princess since childhood; others always considered her opinions. She rarely had to suffer indignities, and even if she did, she would immediately retaliate. But this time, Christopher Scott filled her with anger, and she couldn’t retaliate.
She held the steering wheel tightly, gritting her teeth, and said, "Christopher Scott, I will have my time to rise."
That bastard dared to throw things at her, and the more Seven thought about it, the more uncomfortable she became, but she was powerless.
In Christopher Scott’s office, after Seven left, he kept staring blankly at the empty seat across from him. Who knows how much he missed the Seven who wasn’t like a porcupine? Who knows how much he wanted to hold her?
However, her aloofness kept him at a distance. Even if she gave him a simple hug and smiled saying "long time no see," he would let go of all his pride and tell her that he missed her.
Yet, inevitably, things turned out contrary to his wishes. Every time they saw each other, their relationship grew colder.
While he was worried, Liam Spencer called him.
On the other end, Liam Spencer’s voice was very soft; even with Maya sleeping in his lounge, he was worried about waking her up.
He asked, "Did Seven come to you?"
"She just left."
Hearing Christopher Scott’s dejected voice, Liam Spencer knew the two hadn’t gotten along, which was expected.
He didn’t say much more, just offered a piece of advice, "Christopher, you can push her, but don’t push too far." After saying that, he hung up the phone.
Christopher Scott making things difficult for Seven was also within Liam Spencer’s expectations.
If the woman broke things off completely, that force could not be underestimated. He remembered Maya had even threatened with suicide, and it was foreseeable that Seven might also become disheartened. Lastly, he conquered Maya not through dominance, but through indulgence, so he kindly reminded Christopher Scott.
Hearing Liam Spencer’s advice, Christopher Scott didn’t understand. He wondered what would be considered going too far? Didn’t Liam Spencer already go too far by leaving Maya hanging at the engagement party?
All in all, if Seven was willing to offer herself, he certainly wouldn’t leave her hanging.
Afterwards, he put down his work and began to ponder how to make Seven willing to offer herself to him.
Thinking about her offering herself, Christopher Scott became even more frustrated. He and Seven had been together for so many years yet had never overcome that final hurdle.
In the past, when she was younger, he couldn’t bring himself to make a move. Later, when she came of age, Madam Murray watched over her closely. Initially, he planned to be engaged and then make a move at 20, but she left before turning 20.
Thinking about it all, Christopher Scott felt a deep chill in his heart.
