No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 459 - 457 Really Like You [1 more]
Later, he thought she’d fly back after being angry for a few days, but it took three to five months for him to realize the severity of the situation and that Seven was really mad.
When he dialed Seven’s number, she had already changed it, and even though she gave her new number to everyone else, she didn’t give it to him. Christopher simply couldn’t bring himself to look for her.
After two years, he began to hate Seven, believing she was too ruthless. When that incident happened, she didn’t ask a single question; she left without giving him a chance to explain.
These two are more stubborn than Liam and Maya, maybe because they knew each other from childhood and had similar friends; thus, they were mindful of saving face and didn’t bow to each other.
Even though Liam and Maya are stubborn and strong-willed, they are carefree and follow their hearts. If they like each other, they will be accommodating and accepting, and they will bow to each other.
Christopher and Seven, on the other hand, don’t even bother to pretend, and when they have a disagreement, they both sulk.
As Christopher took the elevator to the first floor, Seven was already on the street, wiping her tears and getting into a taxi.
He watched the taxi gradually fade into the distance, furiously putting his hands on his hips and angrily kicking a nearby pillar.
He couldn’t comprehend why this 26-year-old woman still acted so hastily, not giving him any opportunity to speak, and whether it was in the past or now, she had never trusted him.
At this moment, Christopher looked at the road, furiously swearing, "Seven, if I ever speak another word to you, I won’t believe in Scott anymore."
He didn’t realize Seven was also feeling wronged because, whether in the past or now, he was always indifferent to her. She doubted if Christopher had ever liked her, wondering if when she confessed to him, he just agreed without a thought.
The next day, after Seven woke up, her eyes were swollen. Weary, she looked at herself in the mirror, and thought about Christopher’s attitude toward her yesterday, rolled her eyes at herself impatiently, thinking she was immature when she liked Christopher.
Glancing around, she found that Hudson was far better; at least he shouted to help her vent when he learned she had a disagreement with the model.
Looking at her tired reflection, she couldn’t help but take a deep breath, and asked her mirrored self, "Seven, are you really going to give up? For Christopher’s sake?"
"How can you give up for Christopher’s sake? The more he makes things difficult for you, the more you should succeed, proving yourself with competence, showing you’re capable."
But Liam said she should discuss it with Christopher.
Reminded of this issue, Seven suddenly thought of a lifeline, Maya! Liam adored Maya; if she asked Maya for help to bypass Christopher and sign directly with Liam, it should be fine.
Although she knew it wasn’t right to do this, she was desperate. She’d rather talk herself dry pleading with Liam and Maya than face Christopher again.
Seven didn’t notice that, even though she left Christopher seven years ago, she still cared about him, hence refusing to bow, loving him for over a decade.
Since she could remember, Christopher has been in her mind. Such feelings can’t simply be cut off; even if they must end, it might take another decade or two!
With this in mind, she immediately called Maya to arrange a meeting.
...
In the café, Maya held the contract Seven gave her, almost in tears, supporting her chin with her right hand on the table, saying helplessly, "Seven, even you are asking me for this kind of favor."
She finally had some peace for a few days and now must start signing contracts for someone again.
"Maya, I know it’s not good, but I’m desperate enough to think of you. Last night, I met with Christopher, and we ended up having a falling out. That scoundrel won’t sign with me, so please, Maya, I’m begging you." Seven joined her hands, pleading continuously with Maya, hoping she’d help.
If it were someone else, Maya would have thrown the contract back without a word.
But she couldn’t be so harsh with Seven due to a liking for her and because the Murray Family was on the brink of survival and truly needed help.
Seeing Maya’s difficulty, Seven pouted and continued pleading, "Maya, please, okay? Please, sweet Maya."
"Seven, I’m not very confident, I can only try, considering Liam explicitly mentioned this." Maya replied, quite helpless.
"Maya, thank you, I promise it’s the first and last time," Seven was not Jane Spencer or Aron Hanson; she wasn’t greedy and only needed this one favor.
Seeing Seven’s sigh of relief, Maya carefully asked, "Did you communicate with Christopher? He actually likes you, you know. When you weren’t here, he often mentioned you to me."
When Seven came back, Maya saw the first interaction between her and Christopher. If she approached cooperation with that attitude, it definitely wouldn’t work; she should at least act. In this area, Maya did better, charming Liam by calling him "Third Brother."
When Maya mentioned Christopher, Seven sighed deeply, lamenting, "I know what you’re thinking. Surely you worry about my bad attitude. Last night, my attitude was good. I thought the past is past! If we can’t be lovers or friends, let’s be partners. I even brought him beef noodles to please him before visiting his office. I know he dislikes being called Young Master Scott or President Scott, so I didn’t call him that, but after seeing the proposal, he just told me to go home. I told him I’m in a hurry to catch the end-of-year press conference, and he screwed me over deliberately; then I questioned him, and he revealed his true colors, saying he wouldn’t sign such a proposal."
"Oh, Maya, let me tell you, girls should be more reserved like you, being pursued by Third Brother and spoiled. Back then, I shouldn’t have been foolish to confess to that scoundrel; that’s why he doesn’t take me seriously."
"Seven, maybe you misunderstood. Christopher really likes you." Maya listened to Seven’s grievances, puzzled. But indeed, Christopher’s words last night were harsh; if it were her, she’d be even angrier than Seven.
Still, she couldn’t believe Christopher didn’t care about Seven; she remembered how happy he was whenever he mentioned Seven.
"Pretending to be a love guru! You’ve seen his gossip news; netizens say, Steel Young Master Scott, flowing girlfriends."
"Hehe... hehe..." Maya found herself speechless.
In this respect, Christopher was indeed at fault—he had too many girlfriends, enough to baffle people. Once, she joked about Christopher, wondering if he called girls for the night like flipping cards.
