No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 525 - 523: Scared Silly? [5 Updates]
Maya listened to the man’s taunts and calmly said, "I doubt my sister would appreciate you complimenting other women like that."
"Don’t worry, she would get jealous over others, but you’re different. You’re the only rival she acknowledges. If I were to seduce you, Jane Spencer would be thanking me instead," the man said, pulling Maya’s earlobe into his mouth and teasing it.
Five meters away, everyone watched Nolan Woods’ behavior with bated breath, thinking, does this guy have a death wish?
Flirting with Maya in such a way, isn’t he afraid that Liam Spencer might have rigged a bomb on the plane, making their escape impossible?
Liam Spencer listened to the man’s banter with Maya, his brow furrowing deeply.
From Nolan Woods’ words, he could tell that even if he prepared the money and people, this man wouldn’t easily release her. He would definitely take Maya onto the plane, and as for what would happen afterward, he dared not imagine.
One thing was certain: as long as he brought Jane and the money, this man wouldn’t kill Maya.
But he would definitely make her life a living hell, causing her extreme discomfort—perhaps by tainting her with his scent or another man’s scent.
Liam felt a chill just thinking about Maya being bullied, wishing even more to strangle Arthur River with his own hands.
Then, he turned his head and glanced at Xavier Graham, nodding towards him.
Maya’s eyes were fixed on Liam, and when she saw him look at Xavier, her gaze also became locked on Xavier, not moving for a moment.
Suddenly, she saw Xavier’s eyebrows twitch slightly, and Maya reflexively shoved away Nolan’s hand gripping her jaw, squatting quickly to the ground and hugging her head motionlessly.
Then, instead of facing Nolan’s fury, she heard the "bang" of a gunshot.
In an instant, Maya was petrified—this was the first time she had heard gunfire.
When she finally looked up, Liam Spencer was already standing in front of her, pulling her up from the ground and hugging her tightly.
The whole confrontation had come so swiftly that it could truly be described in seconds. Nestled in Liam’s arms, Maya even felt a bit unreal, wondering if she had been stabbed to death by Nolan and was merely dreaming.
When she heard Liam gently pat her back, comforting her, "Maya, it’s alright now." Only then did she realize that everything was indeed okay.
Taking a deep breath, Maya turned to look at Nolan Woods and saw him lying motionless on the ground, a bullet hole right in the center of his forehead. She was amazed by Xavier’s calmness and marksmanship.
"Big brother, you’re really fast! Next time, let’s have a good match," Hudson Moore admired Xavier’s shooting skills, especially at such a close range where Xavier had a 100% hit rate, hitting exactly where he aimed.
For Nolan to cause trouble in front of Xavier was ridiculous, like a death wish.
Finally, in just 3 seconds, Xavier resolved this impromptu farce.
Yet, Xavier looked at the man lying on the ground, and the rage in his eyes hadn’t faded.
Maya looked at Xavier’s expression, utterly puzzled.
She didn’t know that Xavier despised men who seduced others’ wives and detested unfaithful women.
Thus, upon learning of Nolan’s relationship with Jane, he showed no mercy, wishing he could fire a few more shots into Nolan’s corpse.
"Little thing, are you shell-shocked?" Liam asked as he watched Maya glance between Nolan’s gunshot wound and Xavier, hugging her even tighter.
"How does Xavier have a gun?" Maya was more concerned about the source of the gun than Nolan’s death. She thought she ought to get a gun herself, so she wouldn’t have to worry about being kidnapped.
"Both Xavier and Hudson have guns. If you want one, you can have one too." Liam easily saw through Maya’s little thoughts.
"Then get me one! So people won’t think I’m easy to bully." Maya felt she had to make a big move to intimidate others and discourage them from easily provoking her.
Nearby, Ella Turner, hiding behind Elijah Reed, was terrified by Nolan’s lifeless state on the ground.
Seven Murray was much calmer standing by.
Soon, the police arrived. Reviewing the surveillance, they only saw Nolan holding Maya hostage and not who fired. Despite all their questioning, every witness onsite insisted it was the police who shot.
Feeling helpless, the police officer scanned the dozen people present. Three women and seven men—all seemed to be in cahoots and with no surveillance catching them, it was hard to pursue this incident. After all, the troublemaker wasn’t them.
Thus, the officer on duty sternly reminded the group, "Gentlemen, who has a gun license, you all know the law. Today’s occurrence is indeed self-defense, but I don’t want any more disturbances. Otherwise, it’s problematic for all of us."
After giving them a lecture, the officers removed Nolan’s body, inwardly relieved that the fool was dead, or the police department would be in chaos, and there’s a chance Jane might have actually escaped.
At the bar, Elijah guided Ella home, and everyone else dispersed for the night.
In the open parking lot, Christopher Scott hurried to catch up with Seven, saying, "Seven, let me drive you."
"I didn’t drink tonight," Seven explained with a smile, inwardly not wanting Christopher’s company.
"I’m worried you might be too stressed. Let me take you," Christopher insisted.
Seven understood what he meant—he was concerned she might have been too frightened earlier, worried about her driving safely.
But Seven wasn’t nervous and didn’t pay much attention to Nolan, maintaining a relatively calm demeanor.
So, she nonchalantly said, "It’s nothing. I’ve seen Xavier and Hudson brawl plenty before, I’m used to it."
After speaking, she opened her car door, got in, started the engine, and drove away, leaving Christopher behind.
Looking at the retreating vehicle, Christopher put his left hand in his pocket and scratched his head with his right, feeling increasingly uneasy.
He couldn’t help it; the more Seven ignored him, the more he wanted to talk to her, to get closer to her.
At that moment, Maya and Liam walked out of the bar. Seeing Christopher so glum, Maya helplessly asked, "Fifth Master Scott, rejected again?"
Upon seeing Maya, Christopher immediately spread his arms, pulled Maya into a hug, and said in a grievance-stricken voice, "My little darling, let Fifth Brother hug you for comfort."
Liam looked at the audacious person requesting comfort from his wife, grabbed his collar, and flung Christopher aside with a cold remark, "Go somewhere cool and take a breather."
Maya saw Christopher’s dejected eyes, waved goodbye to him with a sweet smile, and said, "Good luck! Good luck!"
Then she got into the car with Liam.
Though Maya appeared relaxed when talking to Christopher, it was all an act.
She hadn’t grown up with Liam and the others; she was unaccustomed to such violent scenes. But seeing everyone else calm, she pretended to be at ease.
Yet, once inside the car, her legs went weak. She immediately turned to ask Liam, "Third Brother, with Nolan dead, how will we explain this to my sister?"
