No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 533 - 531 Restart [3rd Update]
"Seven, what I want, you can give. If you want to date, I’ll accompany you, okay?" Christopher looked at Seven’s calmness, but felt increasingly unsettled.
He would rather Seven be angry at him. He wanted her to question him, why hadn’t he come to find her? He wished she would vent her dissatisfaction on him. However, Seven didn’t do anything; she remained cold and indifferent.
"Christopher, we’re not the same people we were seven years ago. You should be more mature. Don’t weigh victory and defeat so heavily, especially in friendship and love. Sincerity is enough; there’s no need to be overly competitive."
"And what about you? Can you honestly say there’s no place for me in your heart? Can you say you’re not here dating just out of spite against me?" Christopher, confident from somewhere, insisted that Seven liked him.
Listening to Christopher’s presumptuous explanations, Seven took a deep breath and calmly said, "Christopher, I’m someone who follows my heart. I won’t compromise myself, whether in work or in love, I won’t compromise."
"It’s the same for you. We’re both too stubborn, so in those seven years, neither of us sought the other; I didn’t ask you for an explanation, and you didn’t willingly give me one. Our stubbornness stemmed from not liking each other enough, do you understand?"
"Look at Liam and Maya, two stubborn people, yet they can change for each other and care about each other’s feelings. Despite experiencing so many things, they can still be together because they love each other. But we are different; perhaps we love ourselves more."
"Christopher, I’ve truly moved on from you. I want to start a new life. If I had even the slightest bit of unresolved feelings for you, I wouldn’t be speaking to you so calmly. If you have any feelings left for me, please acknowledge my sentiments and don’t impose your emotions on me, thank you."
Seven’s heart was calm regarding Christopher, hence her steadiness. Christopher’s emotions were too self-centered. She’s no longer young and didn’t want to follow his pace blindly; she wanted a stable life, not one overshadowed by his matters, worried for him daily. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Faced with Seven’s candor, Christopher was at a loss for words.
Seven had said so much, even using Liam and Maya as an example, but the only thing he took away was one point.
She said that in those seven years, they hadn’t sought each other out or resolved things due to not loving each other enough, allowing misunderstandings to accumulate and become irreparable.
Seven’s analysis left Christopher stunned; he admitted she made sense.
However, he was sure he did have feelings for Seven. If time could be reversed, he would surely have sought her out and offered an explanation.
Now, as Christopher looked at Seven before him, he felt she was more mature and charming than before, making him even more reluctant to let go.
She was no longer the pampered, reckless heiress. She was becoming more feminine and articulate, no longer as arrogant. She evaluated everything thoughtfully. He liked the former Seven, but he liked this independent, confident, earnest living Seven even more.
So, despite Seven’s urging for him to let go, he was unwilling and wanted to be with her even more.
He then took a deep breath, grabbed Seven’s hand, and solemnly said, "Seven, things aren’t as you think. Can we start over?"
"Christopher, we’re not young anymore; we shouldn’t restart with a mistaken decision. Maybe I haven’t seen you clearly, but I’ve seen myself clearly." Faced with Christopher’s persistence, Seven couldn’t dissuade him and used herself to illustrate her point, saying she no longer liked him.
Looking at Seven’s calm gaze, seeing her so composed, his heart inexplicably ached, as if he saw no hope in her eyes.
Yet he didn’t want to let go. In the past, he hadn’t put in the effort. This time, he wanted to try hard to prove to Seven that his love was enough, back then was just immaturity.
But he knew he couldn’t pressure Seven now. The more he pushed, the more she would resist.
Therefore, he seriously said, "Seven, I’ll give you time to consider; I won’t bring up past matters. You mustn’t avoid me. If a year later, you haven’t found someone you like, we’ll start fresh."
"Of course, I have my reasons for saying this. If within a year, you don’t find someone you like, it’s bound to be because there’s still a place for me in your heart. At that time, you’ll have no grounds to refuse starting anew. What do you think?"
To ease Seven’s guard against him and lessen her aversion, Christopher resorted to using a delaying tactic.
Seven looked at Christopher’s very serious expression, nodded, and replied, "Alright."
Anyway, she’s already planned to get married within a year; she didn’t believe she wouldn’t find a suitable person given a year.
She thought maybe the next date might just be wonderful. But, to find peace, she simply agreed to Christopher.
"Seven, have you been waiting long?" Right after they finished discussing the one-year agreement, a handsome man, fair and clear, appeared before them. He looked somewhat familiar and naturally addressed Seven as Seven, suggesting familiarity.
Seven lifted her head, giving the man an appraising look from top to bottom. He wore a suit, covered with a mid-length wool coat, looked very neat, comfortable, and attractive.
When he smiled at Seven, it felt warm like sunshine. He stood approximately 188 centimeters tall.
This was the best-looking date Seven had since she started dating, no less appealing than Christopher.
Seven furrowed her brow, stared at the man for a moment, still couldn’t recall if she knew him.
"Don’t remember me? Ian Hobbs."
"Ian Hobbs?" Seven still couldn’t recall.
"Secretary Hobbs’s son."
"Oh! Ian Hobbs, I remember! You sat behind me in sophomore year." When the man mentioned Secretary Hobbs, Seven suddenly recalled.
What surprised her was that the quiet, fair school nerd from back then had grown so tall and handsome; Seven was quite astonished, with a slightly excited expression.
She didn’t expect the dating prospect Ian Hobbs to be her classmate.
If he hadn’t mentioned it, Seven wouldn’t have realized she once had a classmate named Ian Hobbs.
"Seven, you remember me!" The man, seeing Seven recognized him, smiled even brighter.
Nearby, Christopher’s expression immediately changed at Ian’s appearance.
While seeing Gary earlier, he thought Madam Murray’s chosen dates were probably all alike, so did not take it seriously. Yet he didn’t expect Ian Hobbs, their classmate, Secretary Hobbs’s son, would show up.
