No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 567 - 565: Are You Home Yet? [Second Update]
Liam Spencer answered the phone with some impatience, "Christopher Scott, what are you doing in the middle of the night?"
"Third brother, I have something I want to ask Maya for help with, can you help me wake her up?" Christopher Scott asked awkwardly.
"No." Liam Spencer rejected bluntly.
In his eyes, nothing was more important than Maya Spencer’s quality sleep.
"..." On the other end of the line, Christopher Scott was speechless.
Then he heard Liam ask, "What do you need?"
Christopher stumbled and awkwardly said, "Uh... um... I want my dear to make a call to Sophia Bennett for me to see if she’s home yet."
"Didn’t Sophia Bennett already drop you off? How could she not be home by now?" As soon as Liam finished speaking, his eyes suddenly widened as if he discovered something he shouldn’t have.
He furrowed his brow and asked, "Christopher, did Sophia Bennett win you over?"
If Christopher really got won over by Sophia so easily, Liam would definitely look down on him, very much so.
"Third brother, what are you thinking? Sophia dropped me off home, I fell asleep in her car, that silly woman didn’t wake me up, and it wasn’t until after three she got home, so I want Maya to help me ask." Christopher is a grown man, this bit of responsibility he still has.
Listening to Christopher’s explanation, Liam nonchalantly said, "Maya’s asleep. I’ll send you Sophia’s phone number, you call her yourself."
After Liam said that, he hung up the phone, not giving Christopher even a bit of chance to explain.
In the apartment, Christopher was dumbfounded, asking him to make a call to check if that girl got home, he’d rather die than agree.
He finally got a moment of peace, finally rid of her, such a clingy girl, he really didn’t want to provoke her.
Despite his thousands of unwillingness, Liam still sent the phone number over, leaving the rest up to him.
Christopher looked at the text Liam sent, staring at that string of unfamiliar numbers, pressing his lips tightly together, he was troubled.
He didn’t want to call Sophia Bennett, but he feared something might have happened to her on the way back after dropping him off.
If anything really happened to her, Christopher wouldn’t forgive himself.
After a round of struggle, Christopher picked up the phone.
Yet, staring at that text message, he hesitated for a long time, torn between his aversion and sense of responsibility.
After staring at the message for a while, Christopher held his breath and finally dialed the number.
Back at Sophia Bennett’s place, she just returned to her bedroom, having dried her hair after a shower, only to see her phone flashing on the bed.
Sophia puckered her lips, leisurely walked over to the bed, and found it was an unfamiliar number.
She picked up the phone and cautiously asked, "Who’s this?"
On the other end of the line, Christopher coolly asked, "Are you home yet?"
"Ah..." Immediately, Christopher heard Sophia’s scream.
Her voice pierced through the phone, nearly deafening Christopher, making him frown and pull the phone away from his ear, afraid his eardrum might be shattered.
After a bout of screaming, he heard the girl excitedly ask, "Are you concerned about me?"
"You’re overthinking. I’m just worried something might happen to you on the road, and I’d be responsible. Since you’re fine, I’m hanging up." Christopher said this and immediately hung up the phone, not giving Sophia any chance to speak.
In the bedroom, Sophia went crazy, holding the phone, barefoot, she jumped wildly on the bed, almost hitting the ceiling with her head.
She hugged the phone and jumped while talking to herself, "He cares about me, he cares about me."
"He really cares about me."
It’s not the first time Sophia dropped off a drunken man, but Christopher is the first to call and ask about her safety. This was significant to Sophia, lighting a passionate flame in her heart, making her feel her future with Christopher was bright.
However, he was really only acting out of responsibility and politeness, with no genuine care involved.
After her excitement, Sophia lay in bed, legs straight up against the wall, staring at the slim 15-second call log, with a constant smile of happiness on her lips.
Once she snapped out of it, realizing Christopher had called her, she quickly retracted her legs from the wall, lay on the bed, holding the phone with both hands, and called Christopher back.
Sophia just felt sleepy while bathing earlier, her eyelids were about to droop.
But a call from Christopher chased away all her drowsiness, reigniting her excitement, leaving only Christopher in her mind.
As for Liam Spencer and Ian Hobbs she pursued not long ago, they had become distant memories.
In Christopher’s apartment, looking at the number calling him back, he desperately wished to slap himself twice.
He was blaming himself, for stupidly calling Sophia Bennett, now that she knows his number.
He should have thought of this before calling, but he overlooked it.
Staring at the flashing number on the screen, Christopher picked up the phone and hung it up.
But Sophia is not someone who gives up easily, Christopher hung up on her, she’d just keep calling until he picked up.
However, Christopher had no intention of responding to her, after a few calls, he directly blocked her number.
In Sophia’s bedroom, finding Christopher’s phone unreachable, she furiously threw it onto the bed a few times, cursing, "Jerk! Jerk! Christopher, you jerk! Don’t think you can escape me."
Then she put on her slippers and ran downstairs to use the landline in the villa to call Christopher.
Christopher wasn’t stupid, right after blocking Sophia’s number, a landline number started calling, he could guess it was her using his toes.
So, to avoid Sophia’s harassment, Christopher simply turned off the phone, not bothering with her.
After Christopher shut off his phone, Sophia was frustrated, having no choice but to return to her room and foolishly stare at the call history.
Until it was six in the morning, Sophia finally fell asleep slowly.
When she woke up, it was already 11 AM, she grabbed her phone to check the time, swiftly jumped out of bed, cleaned up quickly, then dashed to the kitchen to start working.
Since she decided to pursue Christopher, naturally, she had to show some efforts, not just talk.
In the kitchen, under the guidance of the cook, Sophia quickly prepared a love bento, and then she headed straight to Christopher’s apartment to look for him.
Unfortunately, no matter how she knocked on the door outside, there was no response from inside.
Sophia was perplexed, unable to figure out whether Christopher was asleep and didn’t hear or simply not home?
Afterward, she investigated Christopher’s company and learned he had gone to work early in the morning.
