Noble Pampering: Demon CEO's Relentless Entanglement-Chapter 818 - 814: Don’t Relive the Nightmare from Four Years Ago (Part 2)
Sophie Smith naturally didn’t want to cause a big scene. She covered her face with her hand and hurried towards the elevator.
But before she could reach the elevator, she was stopped by a crowd asking for autographs and photos.
"I’m sorry, this is a hospital. I hope everyone can be quiet..." Sophie tried to communicate, but to no avail.
She was blocked by the crowd, the elevator right in front of her, but she couldn’t step inside.
Behind her, in a place she couldn’t see, stood a man and a woman.
Irene Morton stood with her arms crossed, coldly watching Sophie trapped in a predicament, and beside her, Robert Williams wanted to step in to help, but Irene stopped him.
"Robert, what are you trying to do?" Irene blocked him, "Are you trying to take her to see Brother Asher? Brother Asher is still in a coma, you know, he certainly doesn’t want Sister Sophie to see him like this."
Robert was in a dilemma, yes, Irene was right, but Sophie was in a difficult situation now. If anything happened, his boss surely wouldn’t forgive him. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Without hesitation, Robert ignored Irene, strode over to Sophie, and pushed the crowd away. Being tall and strong, he shielded Sophie, opened the elevator door, and quickly closed it after stepping inside.
"Robert..."
Seeing it was Robert, Sophie felt much relieved.
Robert took her to a quiet rooftop terrace, and Sophie was a bit puzzled.
"Why didn’t you take me to see Asher Land?"
"Miss Smith, President Land needs rest right now. It’s best if no one disturbs him." Robert stood calmly to the side, speaking expressionlessly.
"I wouldn’t disturb him; I just want to see him. I’m a bit worried; he left yesterday without saying a word..."
"Miss Smith." Robert suddenly turned serious, "It’s not that I don’t want you to see President Land, but President Land doesn’t want to see you now. Please don’t make it difficult for me."
He doesn’t want to see her?
"Why?" Sophie couldn’t understand. Asher had never been distant with her before; she hadn’t upset him. Why wouldn’t he want to see her?
Sophie couldn’t understand.
"Robert, no matter what you say about me, I absolutely must see Asher today. I’m sorry, I don’t want to make it hard for you, but I have no choice." Sophie finished calmly and turned to head for Asher’s hospital room, the one Eva Miller had told her about.
Robert followed closely behind; he certainly couldn’t resort to violence with Sophie.
When Sophie paused at Asher Land’s hospital room door, Irene stood a few steps away. Sophie halted her hand on the door handle and glanced at Irene.
"Sister Sophie, I advise you not to go in now. What if you can’t handle seeing Brother Asher’s condition?" Irene’s lips curled with a false smile that Sophie disliked.
"You probably don’t know the pain Brother Asher’s body has endured these four years. If you insist on going in, go ahead, I won’t stop you."
Sophie believed that in these four years, she had become strong enough. More importantly, she knew that whatever happened to Asher, she could accept it.
She only wished to spend every day and night by his side.
