Obsessed with a High-Ranking Esper (BL)-Chapter 166: Come with me
AN: Had a busy day yesterday. It’s the holidays and everyone is eager to do adventurous things but I will make up for yesterday. Happy reading!
Oh," Yu Xi murmured, settling deeper into the pillows. The sheets smelled faintly of cedar which reminded him of Jian Ci. It was a comforting scent, lifting his spirit.
Eros watched him for a long moment, then said, "Come with me," Eros said at last, his voice low but firm. "I will take you and Xiaobao away from here. I will break the blood oath for you. You can live a quiet, happy life. Forget the politics. Forget the Jian brothers. If you want, I can find you someone just as good-looking as Jian Ci."
Yu Xi looked at him, startled—but not by the offer. By the desperation in his grandfather’s eyes.
He had never thought anyone would care about him this much after his mother died. But here was Eros, the man who had once seemed like a distant legend, offering to tear down the world just to keep him safe.
Yu Xi sat up, swinging his legs over the edge of the bed. "Grandpa—"
"No," Eros cut in, his voice cracking. "Don’t say anything. Just think about it. Did you see what he did to you? I thought you were going to die. I thought..."
He trailed off, swallowing hard. Eros didn’t cry. He couldn’t cry but his voice was brittle, like glass under pressure.
Yu Xi’s heart ached. "I have thought about it," he said gently. "And my answer is the same. I am grateful for everything you have done for me. But I really don’t want to leave him."
Eros lowered his head, rubbing his temples with both hands. He didn’t need to ask who did this to Yu Xi. He already knew. The bruises and the bite marks he had seen when the doctors were treating Yu Xi where all caused by Jian Ci.
He knew his grandson very well. Yu Xi would never let anyone close enough to leave marks like that except Jian Ci.
Eros’s hands curled into fists. He wanted to kill that boy. To burn the entire Jian clan to ash and salt the earth beneath them. If Yu Xi gave him the word, he would do it without hesitation.
But he wouldn’t get that word. Not from someone so thoroughly ensnared.
"I can’t control you," Eros said finally, his voice low. "This is your life."
He looked at Yu Xi, his expression softening. "Your sister barely slept. She was terrified."
Yu Xi’s eyes widened. "Where is she now?"
"Sleeping. I had to force her out of the room. She wouldn’t leave your side."
Yu Xi nodded, guilt flickering across his face. "I will l wait for her to wake up."
Eros pulled a chair closer and sat down, his tone shifting to something more clinical. "As for how you fell sick... your condition is something we have never seen before. But it’s not hard to understand."
Yu Xi listened, quiet and attentive.
"You are both an esper and a guide," Eros said. "That means you are walking a dangerous line. Esper energies are volatile and incompatible. Guiding another esper... especially one as unstable as Jian Ci, requires deep psychic attunement. But when two active psychic cores interact, their energies can clash. Violently."
Yu Xi’s brows furrowed. "You absorbed fragments of his emotional and psychic residue," Eros continued. "Without a stabilizing buffer, that overlap caused internal dissonance. Your mind became clouded by foreign impulses.
Your body reacted with fatigue, migraines, tremors and aura fractures. It’s called Resonant Sickness. If untreated, it escalates into full psychic corruption—hallucinations, emotional instability, loss of control."
Yu Xi’s lips parted slightly. "So that’s what happened..."
"If you hadn’t gotten back in time," Eros said, "you might have crippled your psychic powers permanently." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Yu Xi nodded slowly. "I understand."
Eros sighed and reached into his coat, pulling out a small case of vials and a bottle of pills. "For the next week, take these every day. And these pills too. If you have to guide that..." He paused, visibly restraining himself. He wanted to call Jian Ci a bastard but he stopped himself in time given Yu Xi’s feelings towards him.
"...that Jian kid, which I hope doesn’t happen again, you must get a supply of suppressants from this quack of a doctor."
Yu Xi blinked. "Why are you calling him a quack?"
Eros looked genuinely confused. "Because he is one. If it weren’t that he is the only one who can take a look at you and know what to do, I would have found someone else. Plus, he knows how to keep his mouth shut."
He muttered under his breath, "I had to drag him out by the collar. He was practically vibrating with excitement when he examined you. Said he wanted to ’dissect the anomaly.’ I nearly broke his nose."
Yu Xi’s communicator buzzed. He checked the address Eros had sent.
His brows arched. "It’s a sex toy shop."
Eros didn’t even flinch. "Like I said. Quack."
Yu Xi stared at him. Eros shrugged. "Don’t look at me like that. He has a lab in the back. Don’t ask."

Jian Ci sat on the edge of his bed, the glow of his communicator casting pale light across his face. His thumb hovered over the screen, refreshing the message interface for the hundredth time.
There was still nothing. Two days. No call. No message. Not even a read receipt. The silence from Yu Xi was deafening.
Each time the communicator chimed, his heart leapt—only to plummet when he saw the sender. It was Alarna.
He didn’t dislike her. That wasn’t the problem. But every message from her felt like a stone dropped into his chest. She sent photos of her healing bruises, updates on her recovery, even her health reports. She asked if he could come see her. Said she missed him.
He couldn’t reply plus he couldn’t leave the house. Jian Rui had not only forbidden it but told him not to speak to Alarna until he had sorted everything out.
Jian Rui also knew exactly where Jian Ci would go once let out the house. And right now, he was busy cleaning up the mess.

At Lord Leung’s estate, Jian Rui sat across from the man himself, sharp-eyed, silver-tongued, and already halfway through a celebratory drink.
"Headlines will say a high ranking esper prince and a high ranking beautiful guide went through a tremulous ordeal in the exam and came out of it closer and in love... It’s practically a romance drama."
Jian Rui’s jaw tightened. "We agreed on discretion."
Lord Leung smiled. "We agreed on damage control. And nothing controls damage like a public redemption arc."
Jian Rui’s fingers curled around the edge of his chair. "They don’t have to get married."
