Chapter 186: NSFW 1

The door hissed open with a hydraulic sigh, and Yu Xi stepped into the secure room. The air was thick with tension, the kind that clung to skin and made breath feel like glass. Across the room, violet eyes blazed with fury. They were feral and unrelenting.

His hair was a wild tangle, sweat-damp and clinging to his temples. Veins pulsed along his neck and arms like coiled serpents, his body taut with rage and restraint. He looked less like a man and more like a beast cornered, waiting for the moment his prey would step too close and Yu Xi was that prey.

The restraints bit into Jian Ci’s wrists and chest, though Jian Wei had designed them to be as humane as possible. But there was no kindness that could contain Jian Ci in this state. Sedation didn’t work this time. Jian Wei had pushed the dosage to its limit. Any more and Jian Ci’s health will be put to risk. This was the only way now. They could only restrain him until Yu Xi came.

As expected he had hurt himself while trying to escape. Angry welts marred his wrists, vivid against his skin. Yu Xi’s heart clenched at the sight.

He exhaled slowly and released his guide powers. Golden threads of light shimmered from his fingertips, weaving through the air like sunlit silk. Jian Ci’s aura responded instantly. Violet tendrils lashing out, wild and violent. The moment they touched, Jian Ci stilled.

The gold thread didn’t fight the violet storm. It wove through it, threading gold into violent purple, soothing, calming and claiming.

Jian Ci’s breathing slowed. His eyes, still sharp, locked onto Yu Xi’s face with a hunger that bordered on obsession.

Yu Xi crossed the room without hesitation. He knelt beside the bed his hands brushing over Jian Ci’s bruised wrists with such gentleness. "Why do you always do this to yourself?" he whispered, voice low and aching.

Jian Ci didn’t answer. He never did. Yu Xi met his gaze, searching for something, but all he found was that same possessive fire, burning just beneath the surface. Jian Ci leaned forward, the restraints creaking, his eyes never leaving Yu Xi’s.

Yu Xi sighed. "Why do I even ask," he murmured, "when I know you won’t answer?"

With a flick of his fingers, the restraints disengaged. Jian Ci surged forward, but not in violence. He wrapped his arms around Yu Xi, clutching him with a desperation that made the breath catch in Yu Xi’s throat. It was as though he was afraid that Yu Xi might vanish and abandon him in the darkness.

In the observation room, Jian Wei and Jian Rui watched in silence. They were long used to seeing their brother turn docile in Yu Xi’s presense when he was having an episode.

But it was still a sight to behold especially when Jian Rui and Jian Wei would suffer some form of injuries trying to restrain him

"He is calm," Jian Wei said, voice low.

"He always is with Yu Xi," Jian Rui replied, arms crossed. "But if he ever stops loving him..." Jian Wei didn’t finish the thought. He didn’t need to.

Jian Rui glanced back at the screen, at the way Yu Xi cradled Jian Ci’s face like he was something fragile. "It won’t happen," he said. "But if it does... let’s hope he’s cured by then."

"I need a drink," Jian Rui muttered, turning away.

"Me too," Jian Wei echoed.

They left. They had to. Jian Ci couldn’t tolerate anyone near Yu Xi. Not even his own brothers. Jian Rui still remembered the last time he tried, Jian Ci had nearly torn his throat out for just being in Yu Xi’s vicinity. He was so angry you would think he had robbed him of his favorite toy

Back in the room, Yu Xi stood and extended a hand. "Let’s go."

Jian Ci didn’t move.

Yu Xi arched a brow. "What’s wrong?"

Jian Ci grabbed his wrist and pulled him close, arms locking around him like chains. He buried his face in Yu Xi’s shoulder, trembling from the sheer force of his strong emotions.

Yu Xi didn’t pull away. He never did. Jian Ci buried his face in Yu Xi’s neck, his breath hot and desperate. The erratic energy began to slow, to pulse in time with Yu Xi’s own heartbeat instead of its own frantic rhythm.

"Let’s go," Yu Xi had whispered then, his lips brushing the shell of Jian Ci’s ear.

The touch of Jian Ci’s thumb, stroking a slow, possessive line up the side of his neck, was his only answer. It was a silent promise... a feral declaration.

Jian Ci pressed against him, hard and desperate, as if he wanted to dissolve their boundaries and merge them into a single, shuddering entity.

Yu Xi had taken his hand, the touch electric, and led him out. The walk to the elevator was a study in tension. Jian Ci stayed glued to his side, his gaze a physical weight on Yu Xi’s profile, his fingers curled into the fabric of Yu Xi’s shirt at his waist, possessive and needy. The elevator ride was a silent, charged thing, the air thick with pure, unadulterated want.

"You are so clingy." The words, whispered against Jian Ci’s sweat-damp temple, were the permission he needed. They were the key to a lock, and the bolt slid free with an almost audible click. Jian Ci’s response was immediate, a low, hungry sound that vibrated through Yu Xi’s chest where they were pressed together.

Then the doors opened.

Xiaobao, caught with a stolen pack of Jian Wei’s favourite dried seaweed halfway to her mouth, froze.

Her eyes went comically wide. Her brother, her usually composed, annoyingly patient brother, was being used as a human climbing post by the feral esper wrapped around him. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Jian Ci’s arms only tightened, a silent, rumbling growl in his chest that spoke volumes: Mine.

"Now I have no appetite," Xiaobao groaned, rolling her eyes with a dramatic flair that did little to hide her disgust.

Heat flooded Yu Xi’s cheeks. "Go to bed early."

She stomped back towards the kitchen, muttering about poking her own eyes out. Yu Xi opened his mouth, an automatic reprimand on his tongue, but it was stolen.

Jian Ci’s hand came up, fingers pinching Yu Xi’s chin with a gentle but unyielding pressure, forcing his head around. And then Jian Ci was kissing him.

It wasn’t gentle. It was punishment. A fierce, desperate meeting of mouths that stole the air from Yu Xi’s lungs.

Jian Ci’s lips were hot and demanding, his tongue sweeping in to taste him, to own him. Yu Xi’s mind went white and fuzzy at the edges, all coherent thought burned away by the sheer, overwhelming rightness of it.
