AN: Hello lovelies. Pictures of MC and ML in uniform are now on Instagram blnovelking. Happy reading!!
From the core of his aura, the mech unfolded, piece by piece, like a divine beast summoned from another realm. Plates of polished silver shimmered under the floodlights, edged with deep purple lines that pulsed with energy, each contour carved with elegance and menace.
The mech’s frame towered above him, sleek yet powerful, its limbs sculpted for both speed and crushing force. The headpiece gleamed like a crown, a visor of silver reflecting the arena’s glow, while its shoulders bore jagged purple sigils that radiated a chilling majesty.
Every movement of the mech carried weight, as though the air itself bent to its presence. It was not just a machine. It was a symbol, a manifestation of Jian Ci’s cold, unyielding will. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
The cadets erupted into cheers, their voices echoing against the steel walls, but beneath the roar was awe, even fear. The purple and silver mech stood like a warlord’s avatar, majestic and terrifying.
The circular platform shimmered with shifting terrain, metal ridges rising like jagged teeth, trenches opening and closing as the match began. Jian Ci’s mech, gleaming in purple and silver, radiated a cold aura that made the air heavy.
His chest burned with fury, the cruel gossip about his supposed impotence echoing in his mind, fueling every step. Across from him, Harrison’s mech braced, its stance cautious, but the fear in his eyes betrayed him.
The signal blared. Jian Ci lunged forward, his mech moving with terrifying speed, aura flaring like a storm. His blade-arm slashed through the air, sparks flying as Harrison barely raised his shield in time. The impact rattled the platform, forcing Harrison back. Jian Ci pressed relentlessly, each strike sharper, faster, driven by rage.
Harrison’s defense crumbled under the assault. His mech staggered, claws scraping against the terrain as he tried to retreat. Jian Ci sneered, tiger tooth flashing inside his helmet, and with a final surge he drove his mech forward, shoulder-checking Harrison’s machine with brutal force.
The crowd roared as Harrison’s mech toppled, skidding across the platform before tumbling over the edge. Less than a minute had passed, and the battle was already over. Jian Ci stood tall in the center, aura still cold and merciless, the cheers of cadets echoing like thunder. He tapped his chest, disengaging his mech in a shimmer of light.
The purple and silver titan dissolved back into his aura, leaving Jian Ci alone on the platform. He turned without a word, his stride unhurried, his presence still commanding, and walked toward the exit as the crowd chanted his name.
He stepped out of the arena, his mech suit still humming faintly with residual psi-energy, the violet glow fading from the seams. His expression was unreadable, but his stride was purposeful. He had one goal in mind and that was to find Yu Xi.
He entered the elevator which took him straight to the observation deck, where cadets were still buzzing from the match. The moment he entered, the atmosphere shifted. Conversations faltered and heads turned.
Jian Ci always drew attention, but today it was different.
"Whoa," someone muttered, loud enough to carry. Then came the teasing.
"Seeing the way you fight, there’s no way you are crippled down there!"
"Of course it works! That kind of footwork? Please."
Laughter rippled through the crowd, half-nervous, half-giddy. Under normal circumstances, no one would dare joke like that around Jian Ci. But the forum rumors had cracked the dam, and now the flood was impossible to stop.
Jian Ci blinked, caught off guard and his brows twitched.
Yu Xi, who had been leaning against the wall listening to Elias’ endless chatter, looked up. He was the picture of calm, arms crossed, one leg bent, expression unreadable. But when he heard the laughter, his brow furrowed.
"Have you had enough?" Yu Xi said.
His voice wasn’t loud. It didn’t need to be.The effect was immediate. The temperature in the room dropped. The cadets fell silent, some looking away, others pretending to check their communicators. Even Elias shut up mid-sentence.
Yu Xi pushed off the wall and walked toward Jian Ci. "Let’s go."
Jian Ci didn’t say anything, but the smug look he gave the class as he turned to leave said everything. Chin high, eyes gleaming, he looked like a proud wife whose sweet husband had just silenced the neighborhood gossips with a single glare.
Outside, the corridor was quiet. "You know," Jian Ci said, glancing sideways.
Yu Xi chuckled. "I didn’t know it doesn’t work down there."
Jian Ci stopped walking. "..."
"It does," Jian Ci said, voice tight. "You of all people should know that."
Yu Xi turned to him, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "How would I know that? It’s not like I have taken it out for a spin."
AN: The lie detector determined that that was a lie!
Jian Ci choked. "!!!"
Yu Xi just smiled, utterly unrepentant, and leaned against the wall, hands in his pockets.
Jian Ci buried his face in his hands, ears burning. "Ugh," he groaned. "I know I shouldn’t care, but damn... everyone’s looking at me funny."
Yu Xi leaned against the wall beside him, arms crossed, a lazy smile tugging at his lips. "Since when do you care what people think? They have called you worse things on Starnet and you didn’t even blink."
"That’s different," Jian Ci muttered. "This is... personal."
Yu Xi tilted his head, eyes gleaming. "So what do you want to do? Whip it out and show them it works?"
Jian Ci’s head snapped up. "You—!" He lunged, catching Yu Xi in a playful chokehold.
"Don’t talk nonsense," Jian Ci growled, but there was no real heat behind it.
Yu Xi tapped his shoulder dramatically. "I am sorry, Your Highness! I was wrong!" he said between chuckles.
Jian Ci let him go with a huff, brushing imaginary dust off his sleeves. "Next time you are that insolent, I will punish you."
Yu Xi opened his mouth, the words "How will you punish me?" dancing on the tip of his tongue, but he caught himself. It was too flirtatious and Jian Ci might notice.
Instead, Jian Ci shifted the topic. "Do you want to go on a vacation after exams?"
Yu Xi raised a brow. "Who is coming?"
"Why ask that?" Jian Ci said, eyes narrowing. "What if it’s just you and me?"
Yu Xi scoffed lightly. "It’s never just you and me."
Jian Ci’s voice dropped a little. "Do you want it to be you and me?"
