Omega Summoner-Chapter 2351: Against the Frost High Elf Ranger II
Vayu once again manifested next to the Frost High Elf Ranger and his katana already near the neck of the latter. The Frost High Elf Ranger activated a magic circle that turned his body into snow as he is then transported to a marked location. Vayu did not even flinch at the thought that his attack missed as he gracefully stepped onto the air itself and propelled himself towards the new location of the Frost High Elf Ranger.

The Frost High Elf Ranger could only respond with a volley of ice arrows to make sure that Vayu does not reach him. Vayu cannot dodge the ice arrows which is why he opted to block them instead. He sheathed his katana once again and then released a small tornado that swept the ice arrows. The combined tornado and ice arrows created an icy wind tornado that got destroyed as it activated a trap that the Frost High Elf Ranger laid.
The Frost High Elf Ranger used this chance to get some distance while also setting up some quick traps along the way. The Frost High Elf Ranger did think of escaping, but the prospect of his victory might give him the ultimate power to reverse the taboo body. The Primordial Beast of Gluttony told them that the only way to cure their body is to have another elemental stabilize it or do the Ceremony of Absolution in order to forgive them of their wrongdoings.
"This is my only chance. If I could capture him and then force him to do the Ceremony of Absolution, then I will no longer be affected by the taboo." The Frost High Elf Ranger thought but he knew that capturing the being in front of him is not easy.
"A warrior must focus on the battle." Vayu suddenly stated as he is once again next to the Frost High Elf Ranger.
The Frost High Elf Ranger could only reflexively block with his enchanted bow. When Vayu's weapon and the Frost High Elf Ranger bow clashed together, the defense mechanism of the bow activated and released a burst of cold energy towards Vayu. The entire area in front of the Frost High Elf Ranger is suddenly covered in ice as the enchanted bow released a way for its owner to be safe.
The Frost High Elf Ranger thought that Vayu was frozen solid as the ice that was released by his weapon is enchanted and it is almost similar to the ice that froze the entire settlement along with the frost elves. He thought that Vayu will be unfortunate and be caught in the aftermath of the defensive mechanism, but the body of the latter cannot be seen. The ice was clear enough to see through but there was no frozen body inside of it.
"That was quite close." Vayu stated as the lower part of his battle kimono robe looked frozen.
"Tch! As the legends about the elementals go, Wind Elementals are the most difficult to catch because of their free-spirited nature." The Frost High Elf Ranger stated as he released more arrows towards Vayu, but the latter just slashed it with wind blades.
"Ah! I am getting rusty because I am not fighting against humanoid opponents as often. I have been fighting large monsters for a long time that my combat against beings that have same body shape as me has regressed. This is not a good thing for me as a warrior as this means I am quite lacking. I should always show my best for my daughter as she idolizes her dad." Vayu stated as he cracked his neck as it was getting stiff.
"Just admit that you are not as good as me, wind elemental. If you do what I want, then I might think of sparing you and letting you free instead of being my slave after you are defeated." Th Frost High Elf Ranger stated.
The Frost High Elf Ranger activated numerous traps that created large chunks of ice that modified the terrain that they are in. The entire area now has some blockings which makes it ideal for a ranger that needs the natural barriers when dealing with opponents. The Frost High Elf Ranger knew that he will not succeed in defeating the wind elemental before him if he does not create advantages for himself. The raised ice blocks also contain some of the traps that he initially placed which means that the Frost High Elf Ranger has created a specialized terrain just for him.
"I will win with this." The Frost High Elf Ranger thought as he aimed his bow towards Vayu once more, but the target was no longer there.
The Frost High Elf Ranger could have sworn that Vayu was there a second ago as he has sensory traps placed all over the area to supplement his awareness against a fight with a wind elemental. The Frost High Elf Ranger suddenly sensed killing intent behind him and a powerful flash of light as well. The Frost High Elf Ranger immediately turned around while also activating the defensive trap on his feet that created an ice barrier around him instantly.
"I am not a wind elemental. I am a Half Storm Elemental." Vayu stated as his katana is suddenly coated with a fierce aura of wind and lightning.
Vayu's katana hit the ice barrier, but it was easily destroyed because of the destructive properties of his attacks. The ice barrier shattered like glass and the shockwave of the attack hit the Frost High Elf Ranger. Vayu would have followed up with another slash at the Frost High Elf Ranger, but the latter used the force of the impact to get sent flying backwards.
The Frost High Elf Ranger suddenly remembered one thing about advance wind elementals. If wind elementals have aloof and free-spirited personalities, then their advance counterparts are different. Storm Elementals are beings of unbridled chaos that will always appear calm before they start to wreak havoc. There is a reason why the saying goes that there is always a calm before the storm.
The Frost High Elf Ranger pieced everything together as the first phase of the battle was not as active as what is happening now. The attacks that Vayu used earlier were clean and concise to the point that there was no wasted energy. It was a combat style that one can describe as calm and serene which is now a great contrast to the fighting style now. Vayu is now coated in an aura of lightning and wind that devastates even the ground beneath his feet while his sword cuts even the air itself.
"I need to escape. My fantasy of getting him as a captive is no longer realistic. Even the high elves before me have told that one must never cross a storm elemental as they will destroy everything in its path just to calm themselves." The Frost High Elf Ranger thought as he activated all the traps that he placed that were designed to harm his enemy.
"Frost Phoenix Arrow!" The Frost High Elf Ranger shouted as he poured in mana into his bow to activate a skill that created a silhouette of a Frost Phoenix flying towards Vayu.
Vayu suddenly found himself surrounded by magic traps activating around him that released chains of ice. Not only that but a powerful skill is also heading towards him in the form of a Frost Phoenix. Vayu did not panic but his aura could be seen increasing even more as his long hair that is in a ponytail turned to pure lightning.
"Storm Blade." Vayu stated as his entire body got coated in lightning as all the skills of the Frost High Elf Ranger crashed down towards him.
A powerful ice explosion happened where Vayu was, and the Frost High Elf Ranger looked back from his current location that is about fifty meters away from his previous location. The Frost High Elf Ranger thought that he might have killed the storm elemental, but he did not want to assume. The Frost High Elf Ranger knew that his survival is the most important and hiding in the northern continent will be easy for someone like him.
"It is quiet. Too quiet." The Frost High Elf Ranger stated which made him nervous as there should have been more destruction in the area where all the spells and skills clashed but it was all just ice and snow.
The Frost High Elf Ranger released an arrow carrying some power that cleared the snow when it traversed. When the arrow reached the location where Vayu was, there was no sign that the Storm Elemental was there. Sensing the empty signs of resistance, the Frost High Elf Ranger started to run as fast as he can, but a streak of lightning suddenly passed him by.
The Frost High Elf Ranger's left ear suddenly got cut completely as a humanoid clad in lightning descended from the skies. Vayu looked like he was a god of wind and lightning that descended to the mortal realm.
