Adrian’s soul suddenly felt some tinge of pain as a rough magical circle came out from it. The area around him suddenly shuddered as the mantra came to a halt. The area that is full of smoke suddenly became clear as a hermit like existence appeared just a few steps away from him. This hermit like existence is shrouded in fog and smoke but Adrian knew that this was the ’spirit’ of the forbidden tome.
The spirit of the forbidden tome appeared before Adrian and it also manifested a magic circle from its body. The magic circles of Telos’ soul and that of the spirit of the forbidden tome clashed against one another. Adrian could clearly see that Telos’ soul, his soul, is getting impacted by the numerous soul imprints present on the forbidden tome. He is directly challenging everything that this tome could offer which is powerful forbidden knowledge regarding souls.
The magic circles clashed fiercely and one could see that Telos’ magic circle is slowly being eroded by that of the spirit of the forbidden tome. If the magic circle formed from his soul is eroded then he will become a slave of the forbidden tome. Adrian knew that this was risky but he had no other choice as he needs all of the knowledge that this forbidden tome contains.
The forbidden tome’s spirit did not want to surrender as it used every bit of knowledge about souls to erode the magic circle that Adrian created. The forbidden tome would have won if not for the fact that Telos’ soul is an ironclad sanctuary. The magic circle did erode at first but a powerful burst of life exploded from within Telos’ soul.
Telos’ body suffers from mana not being able to be released outside of it. This would have been a bad thing for others but Telos’ body is special that mana does not hurt him even if it flows back. This meant that even the mana that would have eroded his soul suddenly became absorbed by Telos’ body without any problem. The magic circle that represented the spirit of the forbidden tome suddenly started to get absorbed into the magic circle of Telos’ soul.
The spirit of the forbidden tome suddenly changed its demeanor as it tried to physically hurt Adrian using outside force but that was impossible. The moment that the spirit of the forbidden tome decided to take the duel using souls is also the moment it locked onto its fate. The spirit of the forbidden tome could only use the power of its own body to take on the soul of the living being before it.
The spirit of the forbidden tome wavered as it tried to repel Telos’ magic circle away and erode it further but it became unable to. Telos’ eyes suddenly started to glow into a powerful golden light as if something inside of him activated. The eyes that were only a singular color suddenly looked like a golden universe has spawned in them.
The spirit of the forbidden tome saw the power hidden in those eyes and suddenly stopped resisting. In the end, the magic circle for Telos’ soul and that of the spirit of the forbidden tome fused together. After the merging, Adrian is suddenly spewed out of the book and appeared back to the world. The forbidden tome that was filled with numerous soul imprints suddenly slowly transformed back into a normal book.
The forbidden archive librarian actually checked up on Telos when he suddenly got sucked in. The forbidden archive librarian did not want to be suddenly reprimanded or blamed by a powerful Asmodian. The forbidden archive librarian knew that the young boy that came inside is the son of one of the current Asmodian Daemos elders. The relief that the forbidden archive librarian felt when Telos popped out of the book was immeasurable.
The forbidden archive librarian checked on Telos’ body and there was nothing broken or injured. In fact, the forbidden archive librarian is amazed because a powerful energy could be detected from Telos when there was nothing before. The forbidden archive librarian then noticed that the forbidden tome suddenly became a normal magical tome which should have been impossible.
"I think I need to go now as I have gotten the answer that I need. Thank you for the assistance." Adrian stated as his head is now filled with numerous forbidden knowledge regarding souls.\
"I am only meant to serve as a librarian here. The young master does not need to give me any regards. Please be on your way and may you visit the library once again if destiny wills it." The forbidden archive librarian stated as Adrian activated the magic scroll and his entire body is enveloped in darkness.
The forbidden archive librarian is in great shock because there have been no cases of a forbidden tome suddenly becoming a normal book. This should have been impossible as the spirits of the forbidden tomes are arrogant and will never bend to anybody. They could be forced into coercion or hide if a powerful being wants to read them but they will never surrender completely.
The spirit of the forbidden tome that Adrian used has completely vanished and it is not a normal grimoire without the dangerous spells about souls. The forbidden archive librarian wanted to ask about Telos but that should not be done. Some secrets are better of not known or else one would be punished for simply knowing. The forbidden archive librarian’s inquisitive nature is the reason why it is cursed and locked in this forbidden library in the first place.
Adrian found himself back into the area filled with darkness but he can see the other end this time. He just reached the gate where the light is leaking through and he returned back to the Grand Babel Library. He looked at the clock and six hours have already passed which means he was trapped inside the mental landscape of the forbidden tome for quite a long time.
"I can already see it. The way to create summoning magic and the way to create the first step. I need to create the Soul Chamber that will house all of the soulbounds in the body." Adrian stated.
"So, this is what the world looks like now. I guess surrendering to the master has been quite a fun thing after all." A little smoky chibi demon appeared on Adrian’s shoulder.
"You should not show yourself, Soul." Adrian stated as this was the name of given by him when he contracted the spirit of the forbidden tome.
"Do not worry, master. Only you are able to see me because of our contract. Even those powerful Asmodians that share the same blood as you will be unable to see me. They cannot see the souls of other beings after all and I am a being that is made purely of the soul imprints collected by my tome in thousands of years." Soul stated.
"That is good then. I need to check on Vio before we start the process of creating Summoning Magic." Adrian stated as he now wields the monstrous knowledge of the forbidden tome.
Adrian returned to check on Vio and he could be seen being healed by a goddess of life. When Adrian arrived, the faces of all the people there were downcast because they said that Vio’s life is at its wits end. Vio might die a few hours from now and he should say goodbye.
"No. I have found the way. The end of a being can be a beginning and the beginning can be the end. I will become the alpha, the omega, and everything in between." Adrian stated as his eyes glowed in golden infinity.
As soon as Adrian declared the spell, a smoky demon silhouette appeared behind him because the forbidden tome he conquered is not ordinary. It was a forbidden tome that could rewrite the laws of the world. When the forbidden tome’s spell activated, all of the gods and the Asmodians felt the sudden change in the laws of the world.
The gods and the Asmodians that felt this immediately rushed to the source of the being that is changing the laws of the world. Such a thing should not be possible unless numerous High Gods combined their powers. It was like a fragment of the Creator was activated as this is the only way to rewrite the existing laws of the world.
