One-Eyed Monster-Chapter 609 - 606 I’ve Decided! (Part One)
Originally an arrogant fat man, unseen and unfelt by others, he was suddenly detected—a complete surprise!
This shock left him dumbfounded for several Gudu Times; he even forgot to smash down the fist he had raised.
However, he overlooked another problem: surprises tend to come one after another. This one had barely ended when the next arrived.
A spear of fire struck him squarely, and the searing pain of the flames was agonizing—a torment he simply couldn't bear.
Thus, he couldn't help but cry out; after all, the pain of being burned by fierce flames was truly unforgettable.
Disasters struck in quick succession. Once hit by the Battle Pet Fiery Blaze's attack, his Invisibility was gone. He was no longer intangible, no longer hidden where no one could see him.
Stan Sol would never miss such an opportunity. He immediately used the Binding Beast Rope to tie the fellow up.
Below, it was time for payback—for those with grievances to air them, and those with scores to settle them...
Igor certainly wouldn't let this chance slip by. He'd been thoroughly disgusted earlier; now he had to land at least a few more kicks...
The once incomparably arrogant fat man had suddenly become an utterly pitiful wretch.
Hustace was completely bewildered. What in the world is happening? How did one sentence from me incite a mob to beat someone up?!
The light from the Battle Pet Fiery Blaze allowed Hustace to see everything clearly: Igor, Kadi, and Stan Sol were viciously pummelling a fat man, while the other strange-looking individuals showed no reaction at all...
What in the world is going on?!
"So much for your Invisibility!"
"So much for smashing us with your fists!"
"Weren't you so high and mighty just now?"
"Weren't you so damn tough earlier?"
"Look at the beating you gave us!"
Igor and Kadi pummelled him, all the while taunting relentlessly, as if each word they spoke inflicted fresh pain on their opponent.
The fat man was beaten half to death. He screamed loudly in agony at first, but soon his cries became numb. After all, he'd never been thrashed so brutally. In no time, he lacked the strength to scream anymore and lay completely paralyzed, moaning softly and utterly still...
PHEW! Kadi let out a breath, a wave of relief washing over him. Even though his whole body was covered in icicles and his face was bruised and swollen from the earlier pummelling, his spirits were incredibly high.
"One down, one more to go!" Igor sighed. Beating people up isn't easy work; my arms are already starting to ache.
"Can you tell us what's going on with these water pillars?" Kadi looked at Hustace expectantly. He felt he was becoming quite reliant on this timid young man.
"What water pillars?" Hustace asked, perplexed.
...Kadi was stunned. This guy spotted the invisible thing right away, so how could he have missed the water pillars that have been attacking us for so long?
It had to be said, Sharkmon was truly an excellent creature. The cloak it formed completely blocked the water pillars, preventing even a drop from touching Hustace. Hustace, meanwhile, had simply assumed the water constantly dripping to the ground was just rain or snow from the extreme winter weather.
Only Igor could break the awkward silence between Kadi and Hustace, because Kadi didn't know how to talk to Hustace, but Igor did.
"Kadi's talking about the water pillars attacking us," Igor explained. "Maybe you didn't pay attention, but you must have seen that thing, right? If you really haven't seen it, then I'd have to question your observation skills!"
Igor gestured for Hustace to look ahead.
There, a Water Wall stood tall, occasionally spouting one or two water pillars.
"Oh!" Hustace responded concisely, his reaction muted.
It was understandable. Without having experienced the tumultuous events prior, he couldn't possibly grasp the shocking impact this Water Wall had on Igor and the others.
Igor and Kadi exchanged glances, unsure how to react to Hustace's flat response.
Water pillars continued to shoot from the Water Wall, attacking Igor and his companions, their speed gradually increasing.
Igor and the others were already covered in icicles. The temperature was so low that any water spraying onto them quickly froze.
In fact, they were already frozen quite badly. Thankfully, the Battle Pet Fiery Blaze had been summoned, providing them with much-needed warmth.
Stan Sol really is a good guy! Igor thought.
Igor sensed the figure floating in the sky was still launching sporadic attacks, apparently trying to stall for time. But even knowing this, Igor couldn't stop him; the enemy's peculiar method of attack had successfully pinned them down.
This Water Wall, for instance, was restricting their movement. It seemed to have an inexhaustible supply, constantly firing water pillars at them. The force of the water was already immense, and combined with the severe cold, Igor knew they couldn't hold out for much longer. Even with the Battle Pet Fiery Blaze, they wouldn't last.
"Do you see anything else?" Igor still hadn't given up on Hustace. After all, from the moment he decided to awaken him, he had pinned all his hopes on this young master.
"You mean, you can't see anything at all?" Hustace asked, surprised.
Igor glanced around, then looked at Kadi and Stan Sol and shook his head.
"So many different kinds of people!" Hustace exclaimed in surprise. How could Igor not see these people who are so clearly there?
Now Igor and Kadi understood: Hustace could see the Little Black Hands. While Kadi could communicate with these Little Black Hands, he couldn't see their actual forms.
"Besides them, what else?"
"There's also a pile of Symbols. I'm trying to combine them," Hustace said casually.
"Symbols?" This was the second time Igor had heard Hustace say this.
"Yes, Symbols. And these Symbols are constantly shifting. The Water Wall you mentioned has a strong connection to these Symbols."
Igor and Kadi didn't quite understand what Hustace was talking about. What did he mean by Symbols?
Hustace, however, didn't shift his gaze at all, remaining engrossed in studying the Symbols that were invisible to others!
"One sequence of these Symbols seems to form a meaning—a quantity, a very ordinary number," Hustace said.
"What number?" Kadi asked curiously. He didn't understand what this number, formed by Symbols, meant.
"It looks like... four hundred and twenty-one..."
"What? Four hundred and twenty-one?" Suddenly, a voice rang out, as if its owner had been there the whole time. "Isn't that the coordinates for the spring's eye?"
