One Piece: Pirate King? I just want to kill all of you-Chapter 27: The Only Reason You’re Dying—You Crossed Me!
Chapter 27 - The Only Reason You’re Dying—You Crossed Me!
Not long after.
The figure kneeling on the ground, Arlong, seemed to have regained his senses. Will pushed aside the chaotic thoughts in his mind and spoke in an indifferent tone:
"This time, there's no Jinbe to save you. Are you ready to face death?"
Arlong didn't answer. His expression twisted once more, and he murmured under his breath:
"Why... why are you humans... so strong...? I refuse to accept this..."
"Clearly... Fish-Men are... the superior race..."
Hearing his broken, disjointed words, Will paid him no mind and continued speaking, as if talking to himself:
"From a Fish-Man's perspective, I suppose you haven't done anything wrong."
"Different races oppressing and slaughtering each other—nothing could be more normal."
"After all, even within the same race, such things happen all the time, perhaps even more frequently."
"But unfortunately for you, Arlong, as a Fish-Man, you're simply too weak."
"And as a human, I am far stronger than you."
At this, Will slowly lowered his head, staring down at Arlong with an emotionless gaze. His voice turned cold:
"So the reason you're dying, Arlong, is very simple."
"You crossed me."
With that, Will ignored the unwilling fury in Arlong's eyes and turned toward the wall, calling out loudly:
"You two can stop hiding now. Come on out—it's time to end this."
"Huh?"
Hearing this, Nami and Karina froze for a moment before quickly climbing over the wall and running toward Will.
They weren't particularly surprised to be discovered. After all, Will had an incredibly sharp sense of perception.
The only reason they had hidden behind the wall was to avoid being seen by the Fish-Men.
"Arlong!"
As Nami approached and saw Arlong kneeling on the ground, she gritted her teeth and hissed his name in hatred.
Arlong, hearing her voice, barely managed to turn his head.
When he saw the woman standing before him—the very one responsible for his downfall and the deaths of so many Fish-Men—rage surged in his bloodshot eyes.
"Damn woman... this is all because of you!"
"If I'd known... I should've had Hatchan crush you to death when you were just a kid!"
"If I had... maybe none of this would have... ugh—"
"Alright, that's enough. No more pointless talk."
Will, having lost patience, stepped behind Arlong, clamped his hands around his head, and forcefully shut his mouth.
Then, he lifted Arlong's head, making him face Nami directly. His expression was serious as he spoke:
"Nami, look closely. Look at this Fish-Man who once made you live in fear, who you hated with all your heart. He is about to die."
"You don't have to worry about your village being oppressed anymore. You don't have to struggle to gather that 100 million beli."
After saying this, he gradually tightened his grip and leaned down slightly, whispering to Arlong:
"Take a deep breath. The dizziness is normal. It'll be over in an instant."
At that moment, in the depths of Arlong's unwilling and furious eyes, something else flickered—fear.
The next second—
CRACK!!
With a swift and forceful twist of his hands, a sickening snap rang out.
Arlong's head spun 180 degrees, his face now facing backward. His neck was grotesquely twisted, and his eyes lost all light in an instant.
In the final moment of his life, all Arlong felt was a wave of dizziness and searing pain.
Then, an instinctive, primal terror flooded his mind—before he was swallowed entirely by darkness.
Watching the lifeless corpse of Arlong before them, Karina subconsciously swallowed hard.
But Nami, standing beside her, didn't feel the slightest bit of fear at the gruesome sight.
Instead, it was as if a heavy, murky stain deep within her heart had been wiped clean.
She felt... lighter.
She stood there in a daze for a moment before absentmindedly touching her cheek. Her fingertips felt something wet.
"...Why am I crying?"
Nami pressed her lips together and stood frozen in place, tears slipping uncontrollably from her eyes.
Will, seeing this, released his grip and slowly straightened up.
Just as he was about to say something, he suddenly felt something soft crash into him.
"Uuuuuhhh—!!"
Nami didn't know why she wanted to cry so badly.
Her body moved on its own, throwing itself into Will's arms. She clung tightly to his clothes and sobbed uncontrollably.
"Nami..."
Karina's face was full of sympathy. She stepped forward and gently placed a hand on Nami's shoulder, offering her silent comfort.
Will swallowed the words he had intended to say and simply stood there, letting Nami's tears soak into his clothes.
After a while, as her sobs gradually weakened, he finally raised a hand and pressed it gently against her head. His voice was low and steady:
"No one will ever dare to hurt you again."
"Like I told you before—because you are my navigator."
"So there's no need to cry anymore, Nami."
Hearing these words, Nami's sobs slowly faded. The tremors in her body settled.
She lifted her head and looked into Will's unwavering gaze. Through her tear-streaked face, a radiant smile broke through.
"Yes, Captain Will!"
"This girl..." Karina stood beside them, crossing her arms and smiling slightly as she watched the scene unfold.
She had to admit—there was something reassuring about Will's words.
Perhaps it had something to do with his overwhelming strength.
After all, she had never met anyone stronger than him.
...She wondered if he would protect her the same way too.
Probably.
Tap! Tap! Tap! Tap!—!!
Just as Karina was lost in thought, a commotion erupted near the destroyed eastern gate of Arlong Park.
A large crowd was running toward them, armed with all kinds of makeshift weapons—hoes, wooden clubs, steel pipes, even chairs and iron pots.
At the forefront was a middle-aged man, his body covered in scars, a windmill stuck into the brim of his hat.
When he arrived at the courtyard and took in the scene of utter devastation, he froze in place, then instinctively called out to the familiar figure standing before him:
"Nami! Are you alright?!"
"Eh?"
Nami let go of Will's clothes, turned around, and took a closer look. Then, her eyes widened in surprise.
"Gen-san?! Nojiko?! And everyone else?! Why are you all here?!"
Genzo, the village sheriff of Cocoyashi, snapped out of his daze when he heard Nami's response.
He adjusted his hat, his expression serious.
"We heard from Nojiko that you followed a tall man to fight Arlong, so we came to back you up."
As he spoke, he couldn't help but glance around again. The shock in his eyes hadn't completely faded.
"But we didn't expect... you'd already wiped out Arlong and his crew so quickly. Looks like you didn't need our help at all."

"Yeah, yeah!" The villagers nodded vigorously in agreement.
"...Huh? You came to help us?!"
Nami was stunned. A mix of surprise and confusion flickered in her eyes.
After all, ever since she had joined Arlong's crew, the villagers had treated her with nothing but coldness. They had all distanced themselves from her.
Only Nojiko and Genzo had never truly changed the way they looked at her.
So why... why had everyone suddenly chosen to fight alongside her now?
