Chapter 68: Craving Moments

Three weeks later...

It was already ten o’clock at night, but Bianca and Adrian were still awake. They were sitting in front of the TV, watching an animated movie called Up. While Adrian laughed at the little scout Russell, Bianca rested her head on his shoulder and suddenly spoke.

"I feel like eating udon and tempura. Can you get them for me?"

Adrian looked at her. "Udon and tempura? You’re still hungry? Didn’t you just eat, babe?"

"I don’t know. I just feel like it. I want udon and tempura. I remembered when we had them in Japan, and suddenly I really want them," Bianca said.

Adrian glanced at the clock. "It’s ten o’clock, babe. Most Japanese restaurants are closed. I’m not sure if any are still open this late."

Bianca lifted her head from his shoulder and gave him a slightly annoyed look. "So... you’re not going to get me udon and tempura?"

Adrian hesitated. "You really want them right now?"

"If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be asking you," Bianca said, a little annoyed, crossing her arms.

"Alright, don’t get annoyed, babe. It’s not good for the baby. I’ll get your udon and tempura. I’m sure there’s a place open. I’ll find one." Adrian gently rubbed her belly. "I’m sorry, champ, daddy makes your mommy upset."

Bianca huffed softly.

"Don’t sulk anymore, babe. I’m going," Adrian said, getting up from the sofa. "I’ll grab your udon and tempura. Anything else you want while I’m out?"

"I just want udon and tempura," Bianca replied, still a little sulky.

"Okay, I’m going. No more pouting." Adrian leaned down and kissed the top of her head. "But... are you okay if I leave you alone?" he asked, a little worried.

"I’m fine. I’ll just wait here in the apartment. What could possibly happen? Now go, hurry," Bianca said, a little bossily.

"Okay, babe." Adrian grabbed the car keys from the table and headed out to get Bianca’s late-night cravings.

Since finding out Bianca was pregnant, Adrian had been happy every day. Having her in his life had changed him. Before, he’d just gone through life without caring much—but now, he couldn’t wait for tomorrow. He was excited for the day their child would finally arrive.

Adrian had been driving for an hour, but he still couldn’t find a Japanese restaurant that was open. He was about to give up and turn back when he remembered Bianca’s craving. Determined, he kept going and just then, in the distance, he spotted a Japanese restaurant with its lights still on.

Feeling relieved, Adrian parked in the lot and went inside to order udon and tempura for his wife.

"Udon and tempura, to-go, please," he told the server.

The server nodded and went to prepare the order. Soon, it was ready. Adrian paid and headed back to the car, driving straight to the apartment.

When Adrian got home, he sighed softly and smiled when he saw Bianca sleeping on the sofa. He quietly went to the kitchen, put the food on a plate, covered it, and put it in the fridge. That way, if Bianca woke up, she could just heat it in the microwave.

Not wanting to wake her, Adrian carefully carried Bianca to their bedroom and laid her on the bed. He looked at her lovingly and gently touched her cheek. After a moment, he kissed her forehead and lay down beside her, closing his eyes.

Suddenly, at two in the morning, Bianca woke up. Her stomach was growling. She looked at Adrian, still asleep, and shook him gently.

"Adrian... wake up..."

Adrian let out a small groan.

"Wake up... I’m hungry..." Bianca whispered, gently shaking him.

"Huh?" Adrian mumbled, rubbing his eyes.

"I want your spaghetti," she said, rubbing her belly.

"Spaghetti? Not udon and tempura?" Adrian asked, eyes still closed.

"No, not that. I don’t want it anymore. I want your spaghetti. Make it for me, please," Bianca coaxed.

Adrian sighed. Ever since Bianca got pregnant, her cravings kept changing. Many times, after he already bought the food she wanted, Bianca suddenly asked for something else. Sometimes it made him want to pull his hair in frustration. But he never did, he didn’t want to upset her.

"Okay, I’ll make it," Adrian said, still half-asleep, planting a kiss on her cheek as he got out of bed.

In the kitchen, yawning now and then, Adrian stretched his body. Then he started cooking spaghetti for Bianca. This was not the first time Bianca had woken him up in the middle of the night. Since he knew she was pregnant, she often craved food late at night.

Adrian was also grateful because during pregnancy Bianca’s cravings were not strange. She just didn’t want to be far from Adrian. That made Adrian feel helpless, and in the end, he handed over his work at the company to his father for a while.

Once, Bianca woke him at dawn because she wanted to eat fried chicken. Luckily, in the fridge, there were some that Adrian could prepare. Otherwise, he would not have known where to find those at that time.

"Thanks, Ad. You’re so sweet for cooking me spaghetti." Bianca, who had also woken up, said with a smile as she hugged Adrian from behind.

Adrian, who was stirring the spaghetti in the pan, smiled softly. "Go sit down, the spaghetti is almost ready."

"Don’t want to. I just want to hug you." Bianca clung to him, her nose brushing against Adrian’s back, something she had started doing since she got pregnant. Honestly, these days his natural scent always calmed her, while perfume only made her nauseous.

"Babe, can you grab the plates?" Adrian asked when his spaghetti was ready.

Bianca shook her head quickly. "No, I don’t want to be away from you."

Adrian sighed, turned off the stove, and with Bianca still wrapped around his waist, walked over to the cabinet to get the plates.

Only when they sat at the dining table did Bianca finally let go. While she dug into the spaghetti, Adrian just watched her with a soft look.

"Eat a lot, babe."

"You’re not eating?" Bianca asked.

"No, I’m still full." Adrian rested his chin on his hand, eyes still fixed on her.

Bianca stopped chewing and looked back at him. "Feed me..." she said sweetly, giving him a playful pout.
