Otherworldly Affairs Office-Chapter 808: Xiayu’s Battle, Part 2
Earlier, Jiaheris and Boss were sitting quietly on the side, watching their companion battle. Now, they stood up from the ground in tension. Even though they knew such an attack wouldn't harm their friend, watching layer upon layer of iron flow cover Bedivere, trapping him alive and forming into a large iron ball, they couldn't help but feel a bit worried. They looked through the iron ball at Xia Yu in the air, controlling everything—this girl intended to seal Bedivere here and now.
"A difficult opponent, but this is the end!" Jiaheris looked at the red dot igniting in the center of the iron ball, his expression reverting to normal as he sat back on the ground and remarked.
In the sky, Xia Yu also noticed the red dot lighting up inside the sphere. Her ability to perceive the changes in iron made her even more aware than Jiaheris of what this meant, so she dared not slack off—now it was a race against time! Could she completely trap Bedivere before he broke free!
With her arms outstretched, a large amount of iron surged continuously from Xia Yu's body towards Bedivere. Meanwhile, the area of the iron ball suspended in mid-air, turning red from the burn, grew larger, expanding rapidly from a small dot to the entire sphere. Now, this iron ball seemed like a scorching sun falling from the sky to the earth, emitting a dark red light while radiating a terrifying high temperature around it.
In a stalemate, Xia Yu's speed of attaching iron flow was ultimately slower than the rate at which the internal temperature of the iron ball increased. As the sphere liquefied from the heat, dark red iron stream continually dripped to the ground from the air. Finally, with a deafening boom, the entire iron ball burst apart from the inside out. The iron stream blasted apart turned into a fire rain falling from the sky, forcing even the two Knights on the ground to jump back and dodge the intense heat waves.
A sigh escaped from Xia Yu's mouth; failing to seize this opportunity to eliminate the opponent as they escaped filled her with frustration. This disappointment at being so close to success yet having hopes dashed was immense. However, the battlefield's situation allowed her no time to linger in thought. A circular shield suspended around her body blocked the scattered fire rain.
Endless fire rain pounded against the shield with bangs, as more red dots bloomed on the shield, a heatwave surged closer from afar. Xia Yu knew without looking that it was Bedivere attacking. Immediately, she thickened the shield around her by three points, and after the sound of a huge wave crashing against a boulder, the diverted double heatwaves glanced past Xia Yu's body on both sides. In a breath, they converged and condensed into a person behind her.
"Repulsion!" Xia Yu pushed out a palm, and the power wave spread out.
Before Bedivere, transformed into a person of fire, could be flung away, a fiery whip lashed out from his palm, drawing a perfect arc in the air before successfully wrapping around Xia Yu's waist. At this critical moment, Xia Yu shouted, "Possession!"
With those words, Xia Yu was instantly enveloped by the streaming iron flow, transforming into an iron figure. Although avoiding being severed at the waist by the fiery whip, this act also linked herself and the opponent. As Bedivere fell, they both were dragged toward the ground together.
In urgency, Xia Yu had to momentarily dissolve the power of repulsion, slicing the fiery whip coiled around her waist with a hand blade and source energy. In that electrifying moment, Bedivere leaped up and rushed forward again.
Continuously monitoring the battlefield's dynamics, Xia Yu wouldn't let him succeed. With a wave of her hand, two scattered iron balls hovered behind Bedivere, releasing gravitational forces pulling Bedivere's arms back.
"Ah! Ah! Ah!" Bedivere roared, swinging his fists, inexorably breaking free from the gravitational pull, reaching Xia Yu before she could respond, landing a punch on her abdomen.
Receiving the forceful strike that bent her body high, the intense pain momentarily blanked Xia Yu's mind. However, the instinct ingrained from years of training and a strong survival instinct made her automatically react correctly. Ignoring the high-temperature flames released by the man in front of her, she took the opportunity to counter and hold the opponent's waist from the reverse side.
"Then let's die together! As heavy as Mount Tai!" Regaining her composure, Xia Yu crashed into Bedivere's embrace, yelling as she gathered all the scattered iron fragments. Fusing with her body, she transformed into a grotesque, misshapen figure heavy with iron, holding Bedivere in a gravitational plunge towards the ground.
After a violent tremor in the ground, observers like Jiaheris and the captivated audience outside the arena eagerly looked at the dusty battlefield, hoping to know the outcome of this duel.
Unable to contain himself, Boss punched, dispelling the dust with the wind energy from his fist. The devastated ground revealed a deep crater in front of everyone, with two figures faintly discernible in its center.
Supporting himself with one hand on the ground and helping Xia Yu, who lay on him, back to normalcy and gently placing her beside him, Bedivere, who stood once more on earth with the stance of a victor, emerged before the world.
"You did well, but unfortunately, you met the wrong enemy at the wrong time." Bedivere looked at Xia Yu, lying on the ground, staring at him with wide eyes but now too exhausted to resist, and sighed, "Your abilities are formidable enough to contend with most Knights and Witches I've encountered. Even if it had been me in my former life meeting you at the same level, the defeated might likely have been me."
Saying this, Bedivere reached towards the sky, and an invisible longsword appeared from nowhere, slowly descending into his hands. Clutching the longsword, he walked next to Xia Yu and continued, "But it's a pity you met who I am now. I can no longer be considered human, nurtured by the power of belief from followers, my soul forming source energy. Hence, I cannot suffocate and die within the iron ball, and under your strikes, I can temporarily turn into a Spirit Body and move around. To kill me, you must use a force stronger than my current source body to destroy me utterly, and you happen to lack that decisive killer move."
As he spoke, Bedivere grasped the sword hilt with both hands, raising it high above Xia Yu's chest, gazing at her with pity, "Nonetheless, I still acknowledge your strength, admitting you as a formidable opponent! So now I want to ask you one last question in your life, do you regret this fight at all?"
Watching the sword tip aimed high at her chest, Bedivere's lengthy monologue seemed not to reach Xia Yu's ears. Because after she embraced him and plummeted to the ground, another voice had entered her mind, initiating a dialogue.
"It looks like you're in trouble! Pei Yan, you're in such a hurry that you can't even focus on your own battle and pestered me to lend a hand. Hey! Xia Yu, do you know why I chose you to enter the group match?"
