Chapter 189: The End Of Aurax (3)

[ You have reached the power amplification ceiling... level 305 (SS-rank) ]

A notification flashed before Marlon’s eyes as he absorbed the damage from the Aurax’s attack once again.

He ignored the notification completely. He was perfectly fine with the current ceiling. Besides, he truly had nothing to fear. After all, he could absorb and naturally negate all of his opponent’s attacks as if they were nothing more than passing waves.

Not only that, he could easily kill it now if he wished.

Nonetheless, where would the fun be in that? He wanted it to know pain first. He wanted it to understand despair. Then he would grant it lasting psychological trauma using DEATH TIMER. A flood of vile, vengeful thoughts ran through his mind, thoughts that would make others question his sanity and perhaps even fear him. But who really cared about such a minority at this point?

"This is for Logan!"

With a single punch, he sent the Aurax flying straight into the river, the force distorting the air around his fist. The impact created violent waves and ripples that shook the bridge and splashed against its pillars.

The sheer force of the attack sent the feral Aurax sinking deep into the vast body of water, disappearing beneath the surface in an instant.

But it was still very much conscious.

The river, though seemingly ordinary in appearance, contained numerous dead bodies belonging to fish, humans, some Lunaris corpses from the Visit, and even scattered monster parts drifting below.

To it, these were nothing but resources.

’I will get you for this humiliation..’ it gritted its teeth and cast its powers on the corpses, gathering as many as it could and merging them together into a much stronger entity.

Marlon’s [Danger Sense] picked up the formation of a new life within the water almost immediately.

’Another reassembled corpse..’ He had seen it before, fought against it, or more precisely, been beaten by it. He knew how strong and terrifyingly fast it could be.

’But that won’t save you from me..’ his inner voice uttered coldly, devoid of hesitation.

He knew exactly what he had to do.

"Death Clone Army." He activated it quietly, his voice steady.

Twenty clones appeared around him in perfect formation.

The Death Clones were vastly different from his Mirror Clone Army in several aspects, beginning with their appearance alone.

The mirror clones were exact copies of himself, including his clothing, height, posture, and everything that pertained to him as a human being.

The Death Clones were the complete opposite.

Their bodies were jet-black like Vereenas, with the exception of Vereena’s long white hair and special tattoos. Instead, they were entirely hairless. Their eyes lacked color as well, hollow and black as though nothing existed within them, like empty voids staring back at the world.

Their bodies were adorned in sleek black armor that seemed fused to their forms, and a misty black aura constantly emanated from them, giving the surroundings a faint chill.

Marlon observed them carefully and nodded in satisfaction.

Then he returned his attention to the river, where the head of the newly assembled corpse began to emerge slowly from the water’s surface.

With a single explosive leap, the entire torso of the reassembled corpse burst out of the water, scattering droplets in every direction.

It crossed the long distance in a blink and landed before Marlon, its speed just as terrifying as the first one he had faced.

This one was much larger, towering over twelve feet tall with a grotesque, monstrous build that signaled immense physical strength.

It swiftly raised its massive fist, muscles bulging unnaturally, ready to take him down with a single devastating strike.

Yet Marlon remained unfazed.

His Death Clones reacted in his stead without the slightest delay.

Five of them appeared before it using [Flash], their movements nearly invisible, immediately clashing with the hand descending upon their master.

All five were pummeled to death instantly, their bodies shattering under the overwhelming force. But in return, DEATH CONVERSION was activated.

The remaining fifteen clones launched themselves into combat with the reassembled corpse, surrounding it from multiple angles while Marlon shifted his gaze to the feral Aurax that had finally emerged from the water, soaked but furious.

Without hesitation, Marlon flashed toward it.

"You thought you could distract me with that ugly creation of yours? How stupid.."

He spoke calmly as the two of them struck each other, resulting in the usual outcome.

Their exchange continued, blows colliding with explosive force, with Marlon steadily gaining the upper hand as seconds passed.

He grabbed the feral Aurax and violently tossed it back to the shore where the Death Clones stood their ground against the reassembled corpse. One of them even used a Death Bomb, reducing the reassembled corpse’s attack power and movement speed by 5%, weakening its monstrous presence slightly.

(A/N: Marlon’s current level due to CONVERSION is 305 (SS-rank), and the clones are at 75% of his power, meaning approximately level 230 (A-rank). The reassembled corpse is (S-rank), one rank above them.)

He turned his attention away from his clones and focused entirely on the feral Aurax once more.

"This is for Ashton.." He drove a punch straight into its face, the impact creating a visible crack in the air, and at the same time, he heard the sickening sound of its facial bones crumbling. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"And this is for Lyra.."

He struck again with even more force and rage until the entire head of the Aurax splattered into a paste of meat on the ground before gradually regenerating once more.

He did not stop.

The feral Aurax attempted to summon the reassembled corpse to assist it, desperation flashing in its eyes, but Marlon casually summoned twenty more Death Clones and sent them to intercept it before continuing the merciless beating.

Orion observed with a relaxed expression, already aware that Marlon’s victory was inevitable.

Nonetheless, he could also see the darkness within his soul, the pure vengeful rage he acted upon without restraint. The kind that could easily corrupt a person and turn them into something their sane self would despise or even fear.

But that could not be allowed to happen.

Marlon’s sanity was important not only to himself but to the entire universe.

Unaware of the serious analysis being conducted about him, Marlon finally halted his assault.

He stood upright and watched as the Aurax gradually regenerated its entire body, which had been pounded into an uneven mixture of bone, flesh, and blood scattered across the ground.

He observed the process coldly, without blinking, and when the Aurax was close to full recovery, he invoked his Prince Of Death power, the absolute death strike.

At that moment, his entire body radiated the fearsome energy of death, thick and suffocating.

In the Aurax’s eyes, as it lay on the ground trembling, a gigantic projection of the Death Reaper appeared behind Marlon, holding the scythe of death high above.

Fear seized the Aurax completely. It immediately tried to use everything within its grasp to escape death. Its reassembled corpse came crawling toward it desperately. It channeled an immense amount of aether into its body in an attempt to fly away and even tried to scan for more corpses in the area to create yet another reassembled corpse.

Yet all of it was futile as Marlon stylishly shaped the death energy emanating from his body into a gauntlet and struck once and for all.

His fist connected firmly, and the energy of death rapidly corroded the Aurax’s body.

It aged from a youthful Aurax into a wrinkled old one within two seconds. All the resulting changes, including frailty and overwhelming weakness, came with it.

Because Marlon had used DEATH TIMER to deliberately delay its demise, the Aurax could now only feel like a prisoner trapped within its own decayed body. Only its eyes functioned. Its other senses, including its ability to speak or move, were long gone.

Marlon stared at the result in satisfaction. This alone was enough. Seeing it reduced to this state gladdened his heart deeply.

Now it was time to deal with the dragon-taming bastard.

He did not need to wait for the immediate cooldown, as he could use the PRINCE OF DEATH skills and effects for up to ten minutes before that occurred.

Without wasting time, he ordered his remaining Death Clones to carry the withered body of the Aurax and bring it along.

Before flying back into the battlefield, he gave Orion a small nod.

...

He arrived on the other side quickly.

He was met with the relentless efforts of the Vereenas.

He watched as Liora and Solan expertly restrained the bone dragon together, which seemed extremely furious, likely due to its inability to kill either of them despite its overwhelming size.

Although Liora appeared exhausted, sweat visible along her brow, she continued firing at the bone dragon with the two RGB pistols in her hands, supporting Solan, who served as the primary attack unit.

On the other hand, Nox sat atop a boulder, continuously swallowing and redirecting the black dragon’s attacks through rifts and pits, further provoking it each time and forcing it into reckless aggression.

Marlon could not deny it. These people were far more interesting and capable than he had initially anticipated.

As he surveyed the battlefield calmly, both the black dragon and the bone dragon were suddenly struck with fear as they felt the overwhelming AURA OF DEATH spreading across the area.
