A new blessing that multiplied his rewards fivefold was something he desperately needed at this point in his life. Double rewards alone had already made his growth twice as fast, and with this new upgrade, he would grow even faster. There was even a chance of achieving tenfold rewards.

He accepted the new blessing without hesitation and without regret.

At that moment, the golden spaceship belonging to the Vereenas slowly descended to the ground as they prepared to leave and venture into the other zones dominated by monsters.

Marlon closed the panels floating in front of him and went to join them.

They entered the spaceship, and Marlon could not hide his amazement.

The interior of the ship was over ten times bigger than the exterior.

It did not even look like a ship, but rather like an exquisite hall.

There were furniture pieces and compartments for different purposes, such as a kitchen for cooking, a laboratory, and even a larger compartment meant for training. Everything was arranged in an organized and refined manner.

He was shocked to see Max Payne, Serene Whitlock, and Drever Sterling peacefully asleep on the comfortable looking beds inside, alongside Draven and Norian, whom he already knew.

Noticing his surprise, Liora explained that they had visited the Hunter Association first to search for him when they arrived. However, instead of finding him, they found the three of them fighting on the verge of death and rescued them instead.

Marlon felt relieved to see them alive.

But at the same time, there were pangs of worry and self blame in his heart.

If only he had brought his friends along to the Hunter Association, perhaps the Vereenas would have rescued them on time and brought them to him.

Now they were all dead because he had been too proud to bring them along, even though they had pleaded with him.

When his eyes landed on Serene Whitlock sleeping peacefully, he grew even more solemn. How could he explain to her that Lyra was dead and that the reason for her death was him?

"Come with me."

Orion was the first to notice the sudden change in his mood. He approached him and gently dragged him toward another section of the interior, away from the hunters.

It was the monitoring area.

Several monitor screens were in view, each displaying scenes beneath them in clear 4K quality. Some were zoomed in for better observation, while others displayed wider angles.

What was shown beneath their current location was destruction and bloodshed, a sight Marlon had sadly grown used to over time.

"We are flying over here."

Orion pointed at a separate screen that was much bigger than the others. It displayed a map of Arden, showing their current location and red marks indicating zones dominated by monsters. There were also labels marking several important locations, including the five great nations and major cities.

They were currently hovering over Eldertree City, and their next destination was the boundary between Eldertree City and Shadowfen City.

The area surrounding the red mark was shaded in blue, indicating a large body of water, which Marlon immediately recognized. He had once visited that place on vacation when his original body was younger.

"How long will it take to get there?" he asked.

"About thirty minutes at our current pace," Orion replied. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Marlon nodded and decided to take a nap. No matter how strong he had become, he still needed rest.

"I will inform you when we arrive," Orion said.

After Marlon left to rest, Orion slightly reduced the spaceship's speed to give him enough time to relax properly.

Meanwhile, Marlon fell asleep almost instantly the moment he lay down in one of the private compartments.

But his sleep was far from peaceful.

A few minutes after drifting into deep sleep, memories began resurfacing in his mind. They showed his friends, their raids together, and the many moments that had strengthened their bond.

The memories continued to surface, shifting from one warm scene to another.

Then gradually, they began to darken.

He watched as his friends were brutally torn apart like animals.

He saw Logan's body broken in an inhuman manner and impaled on a pole like game prepared for roasting.

He felt their fear and their pain.

He even heard their minds calling out to him for help, especially Lyra.

The scenes became darker and more traumatizing. Outwardly, Marlon's body began to twist.

He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth while still asleep. His eyes moistened as tears slowly soaked his face.

The scene shifted to his first round of battle with the feral aurax, who mocked his dead friends. Then came the brutal beating and death he had endured at its hands.

The memories fueled him with even more rage. His teeth grinding grew louder.

Nox was strolling past his bedroom when he heard the disturbance. He peered inside and saw Marlon's condition.

Immediately, he called for Orion's attention.

Orion arrived almost at once.

"Trauma?" Nox asked, though his tone sounded more like confirmation than a question.

Orion nodded.

Nox let out a quiet sigh and stared at Marlon's body for a little longer as he recalled his own traumatic past, something that still lingered within him even now, constantly draining his emotions the more he tried to suppress them.

He stood there silently for a moment before leaving the room, allowing Orion to do what he could.

After Nox left, Orion remained and observed Marlon quietly.

At that moment, he felt helpless and slightly furious. His fists clenched, and the moon shaped tattoo on his head began to glow faintly.

"I am sorry I cannot help you with trauma caused by those evil planet eater worshiping bastards," he muttered under his breath.

Even though he knew his powers would be useless against something like this, he still placed his hand on Marlon's head in an attempt to calm him.

It worked only slightly, but he could still feel the overwhelming emotions pouring out of him. The anger, the regret, the pain, and the burning desire for vengeance.

The typical aftermath of trauma.
