Facing Henry Chapman’s cold gaze, Nora Scott glanced aside, her eyes landing on Rosie Sullivan.
Rosie stepped forward half a step and whispered, "The cafeteria isn’t serving breakfast anymore. Is it still possible to go out and buy some?"
"I’ll have Marcus Shaw bring it over for you." Nora Scott took out her phone and casually asked Henry, "What would you like to eat?"
Henry wasn’t shy and rattled off a list of names, which Nora noted down one by one and sent to Marcus Shaw.
Marcus Shaw, just getting off the subway: "..."
In less than half an hour, Marcus Shaw appeared back on set holding Andrew Hughes in one hand and warm breakfast in the other, attracting quite a few looks from people passing by.
"Where’s Oliver Scott?"
Nora Scott asked Rosie to deliver the breakfast to Henry Chapman, appraised the duo of one adult, one child, and curiously asked about the teenager always by Marcus Shaw’s side.
"He’s gone to the lab first," Marcus said casually, "saying to call him when it’s showtime... What show?"
"Want to watch?"
"..."
Marcus almost wanted to leave.
"An exclusive skill of your grandfather’s."

Marcus stood still.
Nora asked, "Confident?"
"Yes!"
Andrew Hughes replied firmly, his eyes shining as he nodded confidently.
Lowering his eyes to study Andrew Hughes, Marcus silently mused that Andrew might not fully understand the situation yet.
Nora said, "Smile."
"Heh, heh."
Andrew forced a rigid smile towards Nora Scott.
Nora sighed, reaching out to rub his soft little cheeks, "Never mind, just do your best. Stick to the plan."
"Okay."
Andrew dropped his stiff smile, reverting to his cool little guy persona.
But, even though his smile was awkward, his natural charm and good looks made him endearing, so as he roamed the set, everyone—brothers and sisters alike—came over to coo at him.
Sending Andrew off to his task, Nora stood up, dusted off her hands, and gave Marcus a once-over, then tilted her head.
Being stared at by her, Marcus frowned, alarms blaring in his mind.
Nora chuckled lightly, "Give us a smile?"
"..."
Marcus pretended not to hear, a vein popped on his temple, and he turned his head away, refusing to meet her gaze.
Nora hissed and shook her head, mentally noting that Andrew was clearly picking up Marcus’s behavior.

Nora had work to do, and even if it wasn’t yet time to start filming, there was plenty of preparatory work keeping her busy, giving her no time to mind Andrew. She was easy-going about it; Andrew wouldn’t get lost on set, so after assigning him his task, she didn’t check in again.
As the seasoned father he was, Marcus stood coolly under a tree, with earphones in, listening to some audio, but occasionally lifted his eyelids to keep Andrew within sight.
Andrew wasn’t doing much; he just had a blueprint and a piece of cardboard. He found a prominent spot, drew various patterns on the cardboard according to the blueprint, and then cut them out to assemble.
Quiet as he was, he attracted quite a few onlookers.
"Hey, kiddo, what are you playing at?"
Andrew: "Mechanical Box."
"Mechanical Box? Is this a new toy?"
Andrew: "Learning Mechanical Techniques."
"Huh? Is Mechanical Techniques that popular now? Kiddo, did you enroll in an interest class?"
Andrew: "No, it’s taught by my master."
"So, who’s your master?"
Andrew: "Master said it’s a secret."

With the popular show "Escape Room" trending, and Nora’s high profile, discussions about "Nora Scott and Mechanical Techniques" continued online ever since last Saturday’s airing of 307 Hotel (Part 1). Many also talked about Rosa Sullivan and the Ancient Mechanism Clan behind her.
On the set, quite a few followed "Escape Room," and, with both Nora and Rosa present, discussions about "Mechanical Techniques" were frequent, showing a particular sensitivity to the term.

"I watched him for half an hour, and this kid seems really smart. I can’t understand a thing he’s drawing with the ruler, honestly."
