Chapter 1073: Chapter 1076: The Guilty Won’t Go Unpunished (Part 3)

She walked step by step toward the man lying on the hospital bed, wearing sterile shoe covers and an oxygen mask.

Seeing this outstanding man once surrounded by a halo of glory lying here like this, her heart truly ached.

Ji Anning, this is all your fault. You made the man I love lie here, almost costing him his life. I... I will not forgive you.

As she walked to the bedside, Korea clenched her fist and silently vowed in her heart.

This disaster was something her beloved man shielded her from.

Next time, if she takes action, it will be double the retaliation.

As she contemplated, she reached the bedside. The man’s eyes remained closed, but the heart rate and blood pressure monitors showed all normal readings.

Korea breathed a sigh of relief. She bent slightly and leaned close to Ji Chicheng’s face.

Looking at his tightly closed eyes, she cried out, "Chicheng."

Perhaps he heard someone calling him, for Ji Chicheng’s eyelids fluttered.

Korea was pleasantly surprised, excitedly grabbing Ji Chicheng’s hand, "Chicheng, can you hear me?"

Ji Chicheng’s eyes, his eyelids kept fluttering, and his hand...

Korea looked down at Ji Chicheng’s hand, a pale hand so thin that not a trace of flesh remained, the knuckles too clearly defined.

She observed carefully and found his middle finger was moving, albeit slightly, but it was moving.

Korea was overwhelmed with excitement, raising Ji Chicheng’s hand to her lips and kissing it, "Chicheng, you scared me to death, please wake up soon, okay?"

Tearful eyes stared at Ji Chicheng’s face.

Suddenly, she noticed Ji Chicheng’s lips were moving, was she seeing things?

Unsure whether she was mistaken, Korea stopped all movements, holding her breath, earnestly and carefully watching Ji Chicheng’s lips.

She discovered his lips were indeed moving. What did he want to say?

Korea reacted immediately, bending over and moving closer to Ji Chicheng’s lips. He was only moving his lips, the sound so faint it was hard to discern what he was saying.

"Chicheng, what are you saying?" She moved her ear closer to Ji Chicheng’s lips.

"Who are you?"

This time, she made out that it was likely these three words, asking who she was.

Looking at him, Korea said excitedly, "I am Korea. I love you very much, rest assured, I will always be with you."

"Mom..."

Ji Chicheng’s lips moved again, Korea looked at the shape of his mouth, trying to determine if it was ’mom’. A nurse came in to remind her.

"Time’s up. You can’t stay inside for too long."

She had just managed to talk with Ji Chicheng, and Korea was unwilling, reluctant to leave. She looked at the nurse and asked, "Can I stay a little longer?" 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

"Sorry." The nurse shook her head apologetically, in a tone that left no room for negotiation, "No, people cannot stay here for long periods."

"OK."

Korea nodded, made an OK gesture at the nurse, then turned around and reluctantly looked at Ji Chicheng.

"Hurry up and wake up, get better, remember I love you." She said while gently patting the back of Ji Chicheng’s hand.

She stood up and left.

"Miss Niannian."

Korea left the intensive care unit and happened to see Willis on the phone. Hearing the name he called out, she looked over warily.
