She didn’t believe it, didn’t believe it was true.
"Uncle?"
She tentatively imitated Ji Anning, calling out ’Uncle’, thinking it must have been a coincidence earlier, that he must have been too tired and overworked, so now he’s out of energy.
But when she called out ’Uncle’ again, Ji Chicheng’s mouth moved, his long, dense eyelashes fluttered, and his eyes slowly opened.
His deep-set eyes gradually emerged, reflected by the light, shimmering.
Korea looked at him excitedly, her mouth slightly open as his eyes turned towards her.
She was ecstatic, bending down to gently hold Ji Chicheng’s body, "You’re awake, awake, Chicheng, you’re awake."
"Who are you?"
Ji Chicheng lowered his eyes again, looking at Korea, his weak voice repeating the question incessantly.
"I’m Korea, Korea, look at me." Korea lifted her head, excitedly bringing her face closer to Ji Chicheng’s.
Let him see her.
"Who are you? Where am I?" Ji Chicheng’s gaze didn’t linger long on Korea’s face, shifting to another direction.
His eyes were filled with confusion, and a hint of panic.
Korea held his hand tightly, telling him, "You’re in a hospital, you were badly injured, you’re in the hospital now, look at me, I love you very much, you know?"
Saying that, she hugged him again.
"Mom."
Ji Chicheng’s gaze circled around, then returned to look at Korea.
Korea frowned, "Mom?"
It seemed like she heard the two words he uttered, but she wasn’t sure if she heard correctly.
His mom had long passed away, how could he suddenly think to call out for her?
She stared into Ji Chicheng’s bewildered eyes, pointing at herself, asking him, "Chicheng, look at me, do you know who I am?"
Ji Chicheng’s lips moved slightly, "Who are you?"
Again, those three words.
Does he not recognize her anymore? His gaze looked like he truly didn’t know her.
Doubt flashed in Korea’s eyes, she tentatively asked, "Do you know Ji Anning?"
"Who are you?"
Ji Chicheng didn’t answer Korea’s question, continuing to ask this question.
What was going on?
"It’s about time, the patient can’t be disturbed for too long."
While Korea was puzzled and speculating, a nurse suddenly came to remind her, followed by Charles urging her, hearing from the nurse that the patient can’t be disturbed for too long, he urged Korea to come out quickly.
Fearing it might harm Ji Chicheng.
"How was it? What did he say to you?"
As Korea came out of the ward, Charles impatiently held her, questioning.
After asking, he lifted his head, glancing at Ji Chicheng in the ward, his hand still moving, his eyes open.
Only heaven knows how much he wanted to go in to see him, to hug his son.
"He seems to have forgotten who I am." Korea responded to Charles while pondering this question.
Charles frowned, "How could this be? So what did he say?"
Korea said, "He kept asking who I am and repeatedly called ’Mom’."
Upon hearing this, Charles sighed with sympathy, "He must be missing his mom."
The tone was sad.
"Why doesn’t he remember me anymore?" 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Korea was utterly perplexed by this, turning to ask the doctor.
