"Sorry, I’m at work, really busy," Ji Chicheng said, focusing intensely on the computer, operating the touchpad with one hand and holding his phone with the other, managing both tasks with ease.

He was adept at handling both conversations.

On the other end of the phone, Yang Danning felt rejected by Ji Chicheng and was somewhat disheartened, but she didn’t give up, "I won’t disturb your work, I’ll just follow you around. I’ve come to M country alone, a stranger in a strange land."

She was sitting in the cramped economy class, having secretly followed him to M country in hopes of spending a few days alone with him to nurture their relationship, as they were getting engaged in three days.

Ji Chicheng paid no attention to Yang Danning acting pitiful, "If I remember correctly, you come to M country often."

His words exposed Yang Danning’s ’lie’ used to act coy; nonetheless, she continued pleading, "Chicheng, just take me with you. I assure you, I absolutely won’t interfere with your work."

Listening to Yang Danning’s assurance, Ji Chicheng frowned, showing a trace of impatience on his face. He lifted his head, shifting his gaze from the computer screen to the rearview mirror. A taxi was leisurely following them. He didn’t reply to Yang Danning and hung up, then told the driver ahead, "Stop the car."

Upon hearing his command, the driver immediately slowed down and pulled over to the roadside. The following taxi also stopped, and the door opened. A slim girl stepped out, wearing stylish sunglasses, a camel trench coat that reached her knees, bare legs, and red high heels.

After getting out of the taxi, she didn’t care how high her heels were and happily sprinted towards the Mercedes business van ahead.

Only when Yang Danning knocked on his window did Ji Chicheng make a gesture to the driver to open the door.

The door automatically opened, and the moment Yang Danning saw Ji Chicheng, she couldn’t hide her excitement and quickly got into the vehicle, sitting next to him, "Chicheng!"

She deliberately sat very close to Ji Chicheng. Chicheng clearly moved a bit to the side and then looked at her, "Where is your hotel? I can take you there but don’t follow me."

His tone brooked no argument.

Yang Danning frowned, pouting discontentedly, about to say something when Ji Chicheng’s phone suddenly rang.

Ji Chicheng glanced at the caller ID. It was Qi Helian. He quickly picked it up and put it to his ear, his finger pressing the volume button to lower the sound from the earpiece.

Yang Danning watched him, sunlight streaming in, illuminating his white shirt and handsome, yet stern and tender face. She took out her phone, secretly snapped a picture for her enjoyment, then opened WeChat, posted it to her Moments, and also took a selfie with half of Ji Chicheng’s face in the frame.
