Chapter 67: Chapter 67 Reluctant Cohabitation (Part 13)

Bright and beautiful.

Qi Helian looked at her, stunned for a moment, then he lowered his head and smiled knowingly.

Then, he raised his head and said to Ji Anning, "I was worried that it wouldn’t be safe for you to go back alone, so I called your uncle, and he’s coming to pick you up."

Upon hearing this, Ji Anning stared in disbelief, "What?"

He had called her uncle to come pick her up?

How was that possible?

"Let’s go."

As Ji Anning was in disbelief, the indifferent voice of Ji Chicheng suddenly came from behind her.

She opened her mouth in surprise and turned around.

The man stood three meters away, his tall figure straight and slender, his deep black eyes reflecting the moonlight, cold and desolate, like ice peaks no one could reach.

Ji Anning stared blankly into Ji Chicheng’s eyes, unable to snap out of it for a long while.

"Your uncle sometimes looks quite handsome, doesn’t he?"

Qi Helian’s voice suddenly rang in her ear. He spoke in a teasing tone, making her face suddenly turn red.

She quickly diverted her gaze back to Qi Helian and reproached him in a joking tone, "Mr. Qi, although we aren’t close, we do know each other. Couldn’t you just give me a ride back to the city?"

He actually had the audacity to summon the family Buddha who couldn’t even be bothered to pick up an oil bottle.

She truly was ’surprised by the favor’.

Qi Helian understood what Ji Anning meant, raised his hand, and lightly tapped his forehead, reproaching himself, "Oh, I really forgot I could take you back. I completely forgot."

Ji Anning secretly rolled her eyes at him and was too tired to watch his pretense, "But thank you, Mr. Qi. I’ll be going now."

She casually greeted him and then turned around, walking towards Ji Chicheng.

Her incredibly honorable uncle had deigned to come to this remote countryside to pick her up. She dared not keep him waiting.

She felt he was already getting impatient.

"You’re welcome, next time just have your uncle treat me to a meal."

Qi Helian’s voice came from behind her again.

Ji Anning frowned in confusion. What did her thank you have to do with her uncle, especially one who felt no familial affection toward her?

"I misspoke, I meant you should treat me to a meal. I’m used to saying he should treat me."

Qi Helian followed behind Ji Anning, walking and laughing as he spoke.

As he spoke, he also glanced towards Ji Chicheng.

Ji Anning ignored him, walked up to Ji Chicheng’s side, then turned and nodded politely to Qi Helian, "Mr. Qi, thank you for today."

Thank you for letting her get covered in hay and for calling this person to her side.

Qi Helian shook his head with a smile, "You’re welcome, I enjoyed rolling in the hay myself."

Before he finished speaking, Ji Chicheng shot him a sharp look. He shivered and hastily ceased his meaningful smile.

"Let’s go," Ji Chicheng said indifferently to Ji Anning, then put his hands in his trouser pockets and turned towards his car.

Ji Anning uttered an ’oh,’ and quickly turned to follow him.

"Chicheng, take it slow on the road,"

Master Qi watched Ji Chicheng and Ji Anning get into the car, waving at them with a smile.

However, no one responded to him; undeterred, he turned and walked towards his car, his red Lamborghini sports car, coolly parked by the roadside.

As he approached, he suddenly felt something was off—the front of the car was noticeably lower.

He hurried to check the front wheels on both sides, his handsome face immediately darkened.

"Ji Chicheng, this isn’t over between us!!!"

Master Qi pointed at the disappearing black Maserati into the night, roaring.
