Pampered by My Ex's Cousin-Chapter 767 - 759: Uncle’s Mighty Belt (Part 2)
A pair of hands were dark and grubby, and it didn’t look to be a natural color but rather one of accumulated dirt, which could probably be whitened a bit with frequent diligent washing.
On his feet was a pair of white sneakers, with the sides worn down severely.
This little guy’s family probably wasn’t very well off.
Ji Anning was guessing about the little boy’s shoes when he suddenly looked up at her, even though he was just a four or five-year-old child, he seemed to know it was embarrassing, and he tucked his feet under the chair.
Ji Anning hastily averted her gaze awkwardly, leaned towards Fenfen’s ear, and said with a smile, "Fenfen, won’t you ask brother his name?"
Upon her reminder, Fenfen looked up and asked the little boy, "Brother’s name?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"I’m Zhen Cheng, five and a half years old," the little boy introduced himself in a crisp voice.
Zhen Cheng?
Ji Anning was pondering whether it was the two characters for ’Zhen Cheng,’ when the little boy suddenly added, "It’s Zhen as in the popular TV drama The Legend of Zhen Huan."
The little fellow gazed with his clear and bright eyes, innocent indeed.
Ji Anning couldn’t help but laugh and involuntarily reached out to fondly stroke the head of the boy named Zhen Cheng, "In the future, you could introduce yourself as Zhen from the Pure Zhen milk."
Zhen Cheng, this name really had some interesting meaning.
Zhen Cheng took out a stack of collectible paper cards from his pocket, printed with characters from the latest cartoon series.
Fenfen didn’t know how to play, so he patiently taught her.
The two children gradually played well together, but Ji Anning noted that it was always Zhen Cheng yielding to Fenfen; whatever Fenfen said was taken as the final word, and she would pout at the slightest disagreement.
Although she thought Fenfen’s domineering and tyrannical behavior wasn’t good, she couldn’t blame her because Charles had fostered this assertive character when she was just two years old, and at that time Anning hadn’t realized it. By the time she did, the character trait was basically ingrained.
She felt that a girl should be more submissive, and planned to discipline her gently in the future, but now Ji Chicheng, like Charles, would give her anything she wanted, except for the stars and the moon that couldn’t be plucked from the sky.
Moreover, Fenfen had basically never played like this with other children alone; she had always been in her own kingdom, where she was the queen, the princess.
So now Anning just let her be, aiming only to guide her towards kindness, after all, they had only Fenfen.
Only Fenfen...
Suddenly realizing this issue, Ji Anning’s heart filled unconsciously with melancholy. She looked at Fenfen, her beautiful little face, which had fully inherited the best from her and Ji Chicheng.
Relatively speaking, she resembled Anning a bit more, but her character was very much like Chicheng’s.
His superior genes, for just one child, it really seemed unfair to him.
"Zhen Cheng."
Suddenly, someone called out for Zhen Cheng, a woman’s voice.
When Anning heard it, she instinctively looked towards the source of the sound; a woman dressed in a dark green down jacket, with a bob cut hairstyle that was very smooth, as if tinged with a layer of gold in the evening sunlight.
In her hand was a red plastic bag filled with fruit, her gaze searching everywhere as she called out and looked.
Ji Anning hadn’t seen her face yet, just a side view, and felt some familiarity, and her voice...
"Zhen Cheng."
Just as Anning was musing that the woman calling for Zhen Cheng sounded somewhat familiar, the woman called out again and turned, her gaze landing in their direction.
