Pampered by My Ex's Cousin-Chapter 778 - 770: Who is the True Master of the Ji Family? (Part 8)
Ignoring Ji Anning’s call, she pushed the wheelchair to the side of the sofa, stopping beside Ji Jingfeng and Qia Qi.
"Mommy, eat." Fenfen walked to Ji Anning’s legs, lifting up the chicken leg in her hand for Ji Anning to eat.
Everyone in the living room watched the mother and daughter, and Ji Anning felt very uncomfortable. She smiled and reached out to pat Fenfen’s head, "Mommy won’t eat. You eat it yourself."
Then she looked around at everyone, and since they were all still watching her and Fenfen, she simply bent down to pick Fenfen up, asserting their relationship openly as she had returned with Ji Chicheng.
Ji Mingyue’s face turned an ashen color, looking like she was about to burst but held back due to the situation.
Lin Yanqin and Ji Ruoqian, mother and daughter, were even more struggling to contain themselves.
Ji Anning knew that they were all watching because of Ji Jingfeng’s girlfriend being present. Although she was Ji Jingfeng’s girlfriend, she had not yet entered the Ji Family’s threshold and was therefore still an outsider.
The atmosphere was very quiet and rather eerie.
Qia Qi, who was treated as an outsider, looked around at everyone, her face showing complete bewilderment.
After a pause, she laughed and turned to Ji Anning, breaking the silence, "So it’s true that you and Qi Helian have a baby. I was wondering why this child looked so familiar. It turns out I’ve seen them in the news before."
Her words broke the quiet, but the atmosphere grew even stranger.
What was stranger still was Ji Chicheng’s expression. His face darkened as he looked at Qia Qi.
Was this woman blind? His daughter, who looked so much like him, was unrecognizable to her? From which angle could she possibly have thought Fenfen resembled Qi He?
"Time to eat."
Family shames are not to be aired in public, and Ji Mingyue eventually suppressed her anger towards Ji Anning’s return.
After addressing everyone, she turned specifically towards Ji Anning, "Fenfen is feeling a little unwell. Take her upstairs to rest, and I will have Wu Sister bring the meal up for you."
The tone left no room for question.
Ji Anning was about to nod in agreement when unexpectedly, Ji Chicheng spoke up.
"Is Wu Sister so free?" he frowned and asked another maid bustling around the living room.
The maid bowed her head, unsure of how to respond.
Ji Mingyue grew furious, "Ji Chicheng!"
Ji Anning quickly made eye contact with Ji Chicheng, worried he would start a dispute with Ji Mingyue.
Ji Chicheng also did not wish to upset Ji Mingyue at this time, and under these circumstances, "Then conveniently bring my food up as well. In the interest of saving time, just bring both meals at once. After all, her room and mine are right next to each other; whichever room you deliver to is fine," he stated in a steady voice, then began walking upstairs ahead of Ji Anning.
Ji Anning watched his proud silhouette, sighing helplessly in her heart.
Alas!
Ji Mingyue, incensed by Ji Chicheng’s attitude but with nowhere to direct her anger, saw everyone still standing around in the living room. Her stern gaze turned to Ji Jingfeng, "Jingfeng, will you not hurry to take Qia Qi to eat? What time is it now?"
She was also annoyed that Ji Jingfeng lacked the keenness to avoid the situation. Anyone slightly clever would have taken his new girlfriend away by now.
"Got it," Ji Jingfeng hurriedly took his girlfriend’s hand, "Qia Qi, let’s go eat first."
Once Ji Jingfeng and Qia Qi entered the dining room and were out of sight, Yang Yufang, who had up until now held little presence, suddenly stepped forward and addressed Ji Mingyue, "Ming Yue, don’t be too domineering. Anning is also a part of this family. What do you mean by not letting her sit at the table to eat?"
She tilted her chin slightly, her tone reproachful, devoid of the subservience she once displayed in the Ji Family.
