Chapter 808: Chapter 800 Yang Danning’s Invitation (Part 1)

"Okay."

The middle-aged man nodded and turned to start the car.

Ji Jingfeng took out his cell phone, dialed a number, and held it to his ear, "Cancel all my plans for the 28th. I’m freeing the day to go to Yanhai County for Ma Wenzhang’s son’s wedding."

Hearing the response on the line, he pursed his lips, which twisted slightly in a peculiar smile.

...

The resort had a wonderful scenery and excellent service. After staying for two nights, Ji Anning was reluctant to leave.

However, Ji Chicheng’s schedule did not permit it, and she herself had an ad shoot originally planned for next month that she coordinated to bring forward to the end of this month. Therefore, she could only plan to come next time.

She had accepted this ad six months ago for a well-known shampoo brand, which offered a two-million endorsement fee. It included a few lines of advertisement copy that she had only gotten last month, and she hadn’t yet taken the time to study them thoroughly, always preoccupied with various other matters.

Next, she would be busy with fittings and screen tests, leading to a hectic schedule every day. Thus, she didn’t return to the Ji Family home and instead took Fenfen to the apartment she rented by the seaside.

Since the place was quiet with a good environment and beautiful views, this might be her last job in the entertainment industry; she didn’t want to have any regrets.

Ji Chicheng had Mrs. Wu come to look after her and Fenfen.

The weather was getting warmer, and today in Hai City the sun blazed down brightly, the park was filled with many people flying kites.

After reading for a while, Ji Anning stood up and walked to the window, stretching lazily as she faced the sea.

Time flew by. Including today, it had been a week since she last saw Ji Chicheng. They rarely spoke on the phone, and he was often too busy to call until late at night, only managing to talk around noon.

’Knock, knock knock.’

As Ji Anning was gazing into the distance, a sudden knocking sound came from behind her.

"Come in."

She diverted her gaze back from the window and responded to the door.

The door opened; it was Mrs. Wu.

"Miss Anning, someone just delivered this for you."

Mrs. Wu, holding an invitation, walked towards Ji Anning who stepped forward to meet her. She looked curiously at the red invitation adorned with the character for ’happiness’—clearly a wedding invitation.

Who was getting married?

Reaching Mrs. Wu, she took the invitation, opened it, and saw a familiar name, Yang Danning. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

She was surprised and taken aback that Yang Danning would invite her to her wedding.

"Thank you, Mrs. Wu."

Ji Anning glanced over the content of the invitation, thanked Mrs. Wu, closed the invitation, and then said, "I need to go out shortly, today is the last day of shooting. Take Fenfen to the park around noon and then let her take a nap."

"Understood."

Mrs. Wu nodded and left.

Ji Anning changed into a white dress overlaid with a blush-colored trench coat and left her long hair flowing down. She put on sunglasses.

Then, she walked to the bedside, picked up the bag from the nightstand, and her gaze inadvertently caught the wedding invitation she had just casually placed on the bed. She pursed her lips, picked up her phone, and while heading to the door, texted Ji Chicheng.

"Uncle, Danning sent me an invitation."

"Not going."

Ji Chicheng was presumably on his phone and replied quickly to Ji Anning.

His response was within Ji Anning’s expectations. Not only did Mr. Ma not want him at the wedding, but even if he was invited, he might not have attended.

Ji Anning replied with an ’Oh,’ and Ji Chicheng did not text back.

All morning, Ji Anning was repeating the ad lines over and over; they shot the same scene more than a dozen times as the director wanted to capture the best feeling from them.
