Pampered By My Fake Boyfriend's Brother-Chapter 491: You Are All in Cahoots
"You eat first," Bao Shaojin’s gaze, light and indifferent, fell on her.
"Oh." An Yin came to the sofa and slowly sat down.
Aunt Zhang noticed that neither of them looked well and whispered, "I’ll go call Ms. An over."
After An Yin was hospitalized, Ms. An had been by her side, regardless of her already frail health. Thinking of this, An Yin couldn’t help but worry and quickly said, "I’ll go call her myself."
An Yin walked quickly.
Bao Shaojin looked at the young girl’s lively demeanor and couldn’t quite describe what he felt.
When Aunt Zhang looked up, she saw Mr. Bao with a helpless expression. After hesitating slightly, she said, "Sir, the situation with Ms. An isn’t good. Just now, when we were returning to the lounge, if I hadn’t supported her, she would’ve fallen. I don’t think she should exert herself right now. How about I stay with the An Family? I’m really worried about her state."
Aunt Zhang spoke sincerely, showing that after these past interactions, her affection for the An Family mother and daughter was genuine.
Bao Shaojin took a few steps to stand by the window, looking at the tall buildings outside, his gaze deep, "I understand."
Only when she heard this did Aunt Zhang feel assured.
Just then, An Yin was seen slowly supporting An Ying as they walked over.
An Ying, having just woken up, looked spiritless. After sitting down in front of the sofa and seeing the table full of dishes, her eyes were briefly dazed but she said nothing.
She knew Bao Shaojin was a young master from a rich family, enjoying the best in everything.
"Everyone sit down and eat together," An Ying said offhandedly, looking at the two standing at a distance.
An Yin obediently sat next to An Ying.
Bao Shaojin glanced at the young girl and finally chose to sit beside her.
An Ying and her daughter were both surprised.
An Yin wasn’t as composed as Ms. An. She slowly looked up, shyly stealing a glance at the man’s profile before quickly lowering her head. In less than three seconds, her entire face turned red.
Bao Shaojin sat calmly, with elegant and composed demeanor.
Looking at her daughter’s timid demeanor, An Ying felt conflicted. However, eating was the priority now. Seeing Aunt Zhang still standing, she called out again, "Sister Zhang, come and eat."
Before, when at the An Family, Aunt Zhang had always eaten and lived with An Ying and her family.
However, the situation now was naturally different. At the Bao Family, rules were held in high regard.
"No need, I..."
Aunt Zhang was about to politely refuse but was interrupted by a deep voice.
"Aunt Zhang, join us."
Bao Shaojin had already spoken, and he was known for being firm. Aunt Zhang, having served him for years, naturally understood his temperament.
In the end, Aunt Zhang sat down apprehensively.
No one ate much during the meal. An Yin, seeing so much food left, felt her heart ache. If the doctor hadn’t advised her to eat bland food, she would’ve certainly finished it all.
Seeing her daughter eyeing the food greedily, An Ying became annoyed, "Forgot the pain already, have you? Just focusing on eating." An Ying also blamed herself inwardly, knowing her daughter’s stomach was weak. How could she not stop her at the time?
"I..." An Yin initially wanted to retort but, seeing Ms. An’s gloomy eyes, murmured softly, "I won’t do it next time."
"It’s always the same excuse. You never actually do it," An Ying scolded, hoping her daughter would learn a lesson.
Although An Ying’s tone was a bit colder than usual, she still felt like a gentle Jiangnan woman, even having a slight Southern accent when scolding.
An Yin stood up, standing close to Bao Shaojin, and every word from An Ying made her feel increasingly embarrassed.
Being sensitive, seeing Ms. An teaching her in front of others didn’t initially bother An Yin, but as Ms. An kept going on, she bit her lip, trying hard to quell the minor spark inside her.
An Ying, not in the mood to consider her daughter’s feelings, thought about her own health and advised earnestly, "You’re young now, you don’t feel anything after a few hospital stays. But you have to know, many serious illnesses come from neglecting your health."
"I only had some crawfish," An Yin said, eyes red, staring directly at An Ying, "It’s not like I eat it often, and getting sick isn’t something I can control."
An Yin shouted hoarsely and turned to run outside.
An Ying, alarmed, stood up to chase but immediately felt a piercing pain in her ankle. She gasped and, upon reopening her eyes, saw her daughter being held by the man. She didn’t know whether to feel happy or sad.
Seeing something amiss, Aunt Zhang hurried to An Ying’s side, "Calm down, let me help you rest for a while."
An Ying rubbed her temples and glanced in her daughter’s direction before heading back to the lounge.
In the hospital room.
An Yin stubbornly stood there, with the man’s long arm draped over her shoulder. No matter how she struggled, she couldn’t shake off his hold.
Bao Shaojin looked at her puffed-up expression, and his sharp eyes gradually softened, "An Auntie is doing this for your good."
An Yin sniffed, tears brimming but she tried with all her might to keep them from falling.
Her tenacity made Bao Shaojin regard her with newfound respect. He had always seen her as soft and meek, easily bullied, yet today she showed signs of rebellion.
On second thought, it wasn’t that new. She had rebelled against him quite a few times before...
"An Yin, be good." Bao Shaojin spoke as if coaxing a child.
"I won’t listen. You’re all in cahoots," An Yin mumbled, showing she wasn’t going to budge.
Bao Shaojin, tall and imposing, looked at the young girl in his embrace. Her face was stubborn, like a firecracker ready to explode, full of anger.
"Tell me..." Bao Shaojin lowered his head, his cold face moving close to her. The girl in his arms had nowhere to retreat until their noses almost touched. In a clear, deliberate tone, he asked, "Who am I in cahoots with, hmm?"
His eyes were deep and captivating. Meeting his gaze, it felt like she could drown in them. The overpowering aura around him left An Yin’s mind blank.
The breath from the man enveloped her face, leaving her feeling tingly and numb, as if a current had passed through her, rendering her completely immobile.
"Speak, who am I in cahoots with?" Bao Shaojin’s gaze was almost brutally insistent, pressuring her to speak.
The man’s other hand circled her slender waist. Their current stance would indeed appear to others like a couple in love, inseparable.
The young girl’s delicate frame, even through clothing, stirred the imagination.
