Pampered by My Secret Husband-Chapter 746 - 749: Only You Can Wake the Young Master Up
In the spacious corridor, men in black stood on both sides. From a distance, Sophie Sullivan saw Charlie River standing at the bedroom door.
"Maniac, you’re finally back." Charlie’s voice held a hint of suppressed excitement.
He walked over quickly. In his urgency, he seemed to want to grab her arm; he reached out but suddenly withdrew his hand.
"Young Master is in a coma. Go and see him!"
Sophie furrowed her brows. "What happened to Thomas Shannon?"
"The Young Master was injured in a car accident and has been unconscious ever since..." Charlie looked at her meaningfully. "The Young Master knew someone had tampered with the car, yet he wouldn’t allow us to slow down. He said... he said..."
This was the first time Sophie had seen Charlie so hesitant and tongue-tied.
She frowned, her cold gaze fixed on him. "What did Thomas Shannon say?"
"The Young Master said that since you want to vent your anger, he’ll let you."
So, he meant that Thomas Shannon knew perfectly well someone had tampered with the car? And not only did he not try to save himself, but he also stopped Charlie and the others from taking emergency measures, deliberately crashing into the greenbelt?
Charlie pursed his lips, struggling to hold back. "Maniac, I know I shouldn’t say these things, but I can’t bear it anymore. You should know in your heart how the Young Master treats you. Apart from his occasional anger, has he ever treated you poorly? When you wanted your throat treated, he had the doctors do it. When you wanted to restore your appearance, Young Master Thomas Shannon went to great lengths to find Dr. Standford. When you wanted to deal with Minimus Hart, did the Young Master ever stop you? He even gave up Amelia Shaw... Isn’t all that the Young Master has done for you enough?"
Sophie closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. "I’ll go see him."
She passed Charlie and pushed open the bedroom door.
The spacious bedroom was very quiet.
Harry was curled into a ball, sleeping at the end of the bed.
Thomas Shannon lay on the bed, his head wrapped in thick gauze, and bloodshot was faintly seeping out.
His eyes were closed tight, his face pale. An IV was still dripping into his hand. A doctor sat quietly nearby, observing his condition.
Hearing footsteps, the doctor stood up and looked at her. "Maniac, you’re here?"
Sophie nodded. She came to the bedside and looked at Thomas Shannon. The once-arrogant man now lay in bed as silently as a sick cat.
She couldn’t quite describe the feeling; it was a bit poignant...
"How long has he been unconscious?"
"The Young Master hasn’t woken up at all." The doctor looked at Thomas Shannon. "The Young Master’s will to live is very weak... Maniac, you could try talking to the Young Master, try to wake him up."
Sophie pursed her lips, remaining silent.
She couldn’t believe Thomas Shannon was actually lying in bed. He clearly knew the car had been tampered with, so why did he still take such a risk? Did he think she would forgive him if he did this? She wouldn’t!
"Maniac, everyone knows the Young Master likes you. Now that he’s in a coma, only you can wake him. Please, just considering how well the Young Master normally treats you, will you talk to him? Can you?"
There was a hint of humble pleading in the doctor’s voice.
"I understand. You can go out now."
Sophie waved her hand, and the doctor exited the bedroom.
Pulling over a chair, she sat by the bedside. Harry had woken up, gave a faint MEOW, then jumped onto the bed, stretching out a claw to touch her.
Sophie lowered her head and embraced Harry, her gaze fixed on Thomas Shannon’s face.
