Pampered by My Secret Husband-Chapter 765 - 768: Lucifer Doesn’t Like You
Only 15 minutes had passed...
The mobile phone on the tea table lay perfectly still, making no sound.
Dark currents surged in the depths of his eyes. His deep blue eyes, filled with a coldness like glazed glass, gazed at a certain spot.
Sophie Sullivan returned to her bedroom and picked up her mobile phone to call Lucifer.
From last night until now, she had been caught up in various matters and hadn’t had the chance to call him.
Now, she finally had time to have a good chat with him.
Lucifer, who had been starving all morning, sounded slightly gloomy the moment he answered the call, "Cecilia Branford."
"Lucifer, what’s wrong?" Upon hearing Lucifer’s name, Gaby, who was lying on the sofa with his large head resting on her legs, abruptly lifted his head and stared at her. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Sophie leaned down, rubbed Gaby’s head, then smoothed his fur. "Gaby heard your voice; his sleepiness vanished."
"Gaby must miss me." Lucifer’s lips curved into a smile. "And Cecilia Branford? Do you miss me?"
"Of course."
Sophie furrowed her brows slightly. "You sound so listless. Are you feeling unwell?"
"I just woke up and haven’t eaten anything. I’m simply hungry."
"Perfect. I haven’t had lunch either. Shall we eat together?"
Lucifer was naturally delighted. "Okay, I’ll have Leo pick you up."
Sophie patted Gaby’s head. Gaby jumped off the sofa, and as Sophie walked out with him, she enthusiastically told Lucifer, "Actually, I have some happy news to share with you..."
Thomas Shannon opened the bedroom door and saw the smile playing on Sophie’s lips. His heart sank.
Who is she on the phone with, looking so happy?
The next second, he understood.
Who else could it be but the annoying Lucifer?
"Fennie, it’s time for lunch." Thomas’s lips curved upwards as he reached out to take her hand.
Sophie put down her mobile phone and spread her hands helplessly. "I’ve already made plans to have lunch with Lucifer. I can’t join you."
"And what about me?"
Thomas pursed his thin lips, displeased. She was bluntly telling him she was going to have lunch with Lucifer; where did that leave him?
"You... can have Harry accompany you," Sophie said, glancing behind Thomas for a moment, but she didn’t see Harry.
"Stop looking. Harry is hiding somewhere; I don’t know where."
Whenever Gaby was around, Harry wouldn’t dare show his face, as if Harry were the trespasser in this manor and Gaby its rightful owner.
"What a shame." Sophie raised her hand and patted Thomas’s shoulder. "You’ll have to eat by yourself."
Thomas’s cold eyes locked onto her. He reached out and grabbed her tiny, boneless hand. "I’ll go with you."
He couldn’t let her be alone with Lucifer. Who knew if feelings might develop between them over time?
He wouldn’t give Lucifer the slightest chance!
Sophie heard this and immediately refused, "No, you can’t go!"
"Give me one reason!" Thomas’s cold eyes darkened, his handsome face abruptly turning grim.
"Lucifer doesn’t like you."
"I don’t like him either!"
Sophie clapped her hands together. "Perfect. Since you both dislike each other, there’s no need for you to crash the party."
She lowered her head, glanced at Gaby beside her, and said, "Gaby, let’s go."
Gaby stared intently at Thomas Shannon. Only when Sophie led the way out of the bedroom did he swagger out after her, the very image of a guardian deity.
Thomas Shannon quickly pursued them. From behind, he tightly gripped Sophie’s wrist. Sophie cried out in pain and whirled around. "Thomas Shannon, what do you think you’re doing?"
