Pampered by My Secret Husband-Chapter 781 - 783: You Heartless One
He wouldn’t let them have their private time. If he could be a lightbulb for one minute, he definitely wouldn’t retreat in thirty seconds!
William Guillen sat on the sofa, drinking water.
In the kitchen at the other end, the two of them were being lovey-dovey again.
Sophie Sullivan followed Thomas Shannon like a little tail. She wasn’t helping; she was just causing trouble.
"Thomas, what’s this?"
Sophie picked up a small, round egg and looked at it. Thomas snatched the quail egg with one hand. "This is a quail egg."
Sophie nodded. "You know so much..."
"Of course, someone like you, who’s never had to lift a finger, wouldn’t know."
Sophie cleverly found the loophole in his words. She squinted and hugged his arm tightly. "So, you have a lot of experience cooking, then?"
With that tone... and that expression... Thomas had a gut feeling her next words wouldn’t be pleasant, so he chose to remain silent.
Sophie turned him to face her, tilting her head up to look at him. "Tell me, who have you cooked for before?"
Was it Amelia Shaw, or someone else?
Thomas looked down. Under the light, her fair skin, smooth as snow, seemed to glow enchantingly. Her charmingly headstrong demeanor truly captivated his heart.
"Jealous?" A smile touched the corners of his mouth. He lowered his head and lightly pecked her pursed red lips.
Sophie paused. Was she jealous?
Seeing the amusement in his eyes, Sophie continued defiantly, "So what if I’m jealous? Is that not allowed?"
"If Fennie says it’s okay, then it’s okay." Thomas lowered his head again, trying to steal a kiss from her red lips.
Sensing his intention, Sophie quickly pulled her head back, causing him to kiss empty air.
Seeing the flash of annoyance on his face, Sophie burst out laughing. After a moment, she managed to stifle her giggles.
Pursing her lips, feigning anger, she demanded imperiously, "Tell me, who else have you cooked for?"
"Just you, you heartless girl."
"I don’t believe you!" Sophie grabbed his collar with one hand, snuggling into his embrace. "You never cooked for Amelia Shaw?"
Thomas frowned at her words. "Amelia Shaw never received this kind of treatment from me."
As he spoke, an expression of distaste flickered across his handsome face, as if he didn’t want to mention Amelia Shaw further.
This expression instantly pleased Sophie.
She stood on tiptoe and quickly pecked his handsome face. "Alright, I’ll reluctantly believe you this time."
Thomas was exasperated yet amused. Only she could take advantage of someone and still act so coy.
"Should I thank Miss Sullivan for her trust?"
"Of course." Sophie patted his chest with mock seriousness. "Go on, I’m looking forward to your midnight snack."
It was already deep into the night, a time when all was deadly silent.
The two of them weren’t intentionally lowering their voices, and William Guillen, sitting on the sofa in the main hall, heard everything clearly.
After gulping down one cup of water, he poured himself another.
This was too much! Was this dog food free? Or was it a buy-one-get-one-free deal?
BANG!
The cup slammed down on the tea table. William Guillen got up and headed upstairs.
Just as Sophie came out of the kitchen, she saw William Guillen’s retreating, angry back. She hurried a few steps to call out to him, "William Guillen, wait a minute!"
William Guillen stopped in his tracks. "What is it?"
"You haven’t told me which guest room you’re staying in." She wanted to know if he was with Fluffy Zane.
William Guillen, a veteran in the art of romance, easily saw through Sophie’s slight concern. "Don’t worry, what you’re imagining won’t happen."
With that, he quickly went upstairs.
Sophie snorted softly. "That’s for the best."
