Passerby Villain In A Wizard World-Chapter 218: DreamShard
'Tch... asking to reach First Ring Wizard level in six months? Playing smart, huh.'
Ian smirked a little after hearing her condition.
From the way she giggled at the end, she might have thought he wouldn't be able to.
After all, reaching First Ring Wizard level requires the Ascension Potion, which someone like him shouldn't be able to get.
So, in the end, it all came down to the zero level where he would be seeking a connection for that matter.
'It seems it isn't a good idea to ask for her help then.'
Ian knew Yela from the event where Carl met her in the novel during his auction visit; a typical plot. Of course, Yela wasn't a heroine or anything, just a side character.
But since she was related to merchants, he thought maybe she could get him the recipe for the Ascension Potion.
'But she has a calculative mind. The risk will be higher.'
Ian didn't think that just because their conversations went smoothly with giggles and laughs, he was now close with Yela.
That would be foolish.
From the way she carried on the conversation and left with a hook, he understood that she might be interested in him for something.
'Might be my talent or maybe... not.'
Ian was just guessing when suddenly, a beautiful small bird landed on his shoulder out of nowhere.
With ember-hued feathers that shimmered like molten gold and intelligent eyes, it garnered a few glances from the Knights around.
"You are finally here. What did you manage to find?"
Ian asked through telepathy to Ignysyl, who looked elated just from its bird face. Although it was a weird expression, Ian could still feel its emotions when up close.
Actually, when they had just landed from the Silver Gull ship and Ian had the confrontation with Zane, Ignysyl just disappeared without saying anything from his shoulder.
And from the way this guy looked like a sneaky thief, Ian guessed the little dragon must have found something amazing here.
"Let's go inside first."
Ignysyl didn't answer Ian directly but urged him to enter the tent in front, as if he didn't want to draw anyone's attention.
"So sneaky?"
Ian raised an eyebrow but still entered the makeshift tent in front, made from some kind of animal's leather.
After entering, he closed the door behind him, which instantly activated the array around, covering the tent with simple protection.
"So, what did you find that you have to be so sneaky? By the way, change your form, I don't like this look of yours."
Ian said while sitting on the side of a simple bed, waiting for Ignysyl to answer.
"Tch... it's not like I want to be in this form anyway."
Ignysyl complained in a low voice and changed his form back to his true magnificent self.
Then, as if he remembered what he came here for, he forgot his complaint, smiled widely, and asked.
"Guess what I found in this place?"
From the expression and excitement on his face, he seemed proud of his findings.
So, Ignysyl didn't immediately take out what he had found after disappearing this time but instead asked Ian with a twinkle in his eyes.
"Are you kidding? How would I know?"
Seeing him act like a kid, Ian rolled his eyes speechlessly. How would he be able to guess what he found out of nowhere?
Did he think of him as a Seer or what? Why was he so childish?
'But, he is indeed a kid after all. This much quirkiness is acceptable.'
He thought, as because of Ignysyl's actual identity, he sometimes forgot that he was still a juvenile dragon.
"Tch... you're no fun at all. At least, give some guesses."
Ian's passive attitude irked Ignysyl's enthusiasm a little.
Still, he immediately perked up again and waved his hand, causing a small shimmering crystal to appear in between them.
"Look what I found?"
Ignysyl asked again while pointing at the item in front with his paw, with clear pride in his eyes. It was as if he wanted to be praised for his great findings.
But Ian ignored his eyes for now and looked at the crystal in front instead.
The crystal Ian was looking at was deep violet in color with swirling silver streaks flying inside. Although it was in the shape of a crystal, it resembled a moving mist.
Also, from close inspection, Ian found that it was constantly emitting a faint, calming glow, almost inducing drowsiness.
Overall, it was ethereal.
"Dreamshard!"
After carefully looking at the crystal that Ignysyl had taken out, Ian finally called out its name with clear surprise in his eyes.
"Yeah, a Dreamshard. Haha... do you know how rare this item is?"
Ignysyl laughed proudly while fluttering his wings covered with fiery flames.
"The moment I landed outside of that ship, I immediately sensed its existence. You don't know how much energy I consumed to take it out while hiding from the patrol. After all, you cannot store it in space like other treasures."

He added with a rare enthusiasm.
"Yeah, it is indeed a rare item."
Ian nodded with clear elation in his eyes, not minding Ignysyl's boasting one bit. Instead, he grabbed the crystal in his arm, which weighed nothing at all despite its appearance.
"So, they were transporting Elementum ore, huh."
Ian mumbled while carefully examining the Dreamshard in front of him.
As far as he knew, Elementum ore was a rare ore found in this wizard world that had many uses.
Depending on its type and elemental nature, it could be used for something as simple as making a specific elemental meditation chamber or in more complex situations such as Leyline Conduction, Reality-Anchoring, Void-Resonance, etc.
Of course, the more advanced the use, the rarer the Elementum ore.
And the Dreamshard in front of him was also one of them, considered extremely rare.
'I don't know which guy was unlucky enough to lose this treasure.'
Ian thought in a good mood, not minding Ignysyl's stealing behavior one bit.
"See? Didn't I say I can find treasure for you? If you let me out in the sea, I might have found more precious items, but you didn't let me."
Ignysyl proudly shook his head as if Ian had disappointed him by not using his absolutely wonderful talent.
"Okay, I know you are awesome. Can you now come down from your high ground?"
Ian said speechlessly, then asked,
"Where did you find it? Is it the only one?"
"Of course, it is the only one. Do you think Dreamshard can be found randomly like those low-grade stones?"
Ignysyl rolled his eyes as if Ian was asking for too much. Then, seeing Ian so interested, he asked with curiosity,
"You seem to know this ore too. Do you have any plans for its use or what?"
"Yeah, I know since it is an ingredient for the Dream Potion."
Ian nodded at Ignysyl while playing with the Dreamshard in his hand.
The reason he recognized this ore immediately was because of the reward he got from the system earlier: Potion Mastery.
And like he said, this Dreamshard was an ingredient for the Dream Potion; an Advanced grade potion.
"Dream Potion? Never heard of it."
Ignysyl shook his head as he didn't know what that was.
"Then why are you so excited after getting this crystal?"
Ian raised his eyebrow.
If he didn't know about the Dream Potion, then why was he so excited?
"Of course, because this crystal can allow Spirit Communication and Bloodline Recalling. Although the chances are pretty low, it is still there."
Ignysyl said with a twinkle in his eyes. What he cared more about was his bloodline and the sealed ability and knowledge within.
And from his inheritance, he knew that Dreamshard could help him with just that, although the chances were low enough.
Nevertheless, for him, who had just arrived at a new place, this was a great finding to celebrate.
"Yeah, Dream Potion can also do that."
Ian nodded as he understood why Ignysyl was so excited.
In fact, now that he gazed upon those uses, he was also a little excited, as his blood was also mysterious like Ignysyl's.
'Maybe I will unearth something with this, who knows?'
Ian thought with a twinkle in his eyes.
"Don't worry. Dream Potion is far better than using the ore directly. Your chances of Bloodline Recalling will be higher."
He said with a smile while patting his hand atop Ignysyl's head as if acknowledging his achievement.
"Really, that would be great."
And sure enough, a word of encouragement from Ian was enough, and Ignysyl visibly became excited.
"Yeah, why would I lie to you? And besides Spirit Communication and Bloodline Recalling, it also has other uses like Soul Anchoring, Memory Recall, Lucid Dreaming, and many more."
It seemed Ian was in a good mood, so he added a few more sentences.
"Oh, and besides those normal uses, it can also be used for Phantom Invocation just from the aura alone."
Then, as if he remembered an obscure use, Ian called out at last.
Phantom Invocation, as the name suggested, was the ability to summon a phantom of an entity from its aura alone.
This obscure power was particularly useful in interrogations or when searching for hidden treasure, as the summoned phantom could possibly reveal crucial information about the treasure.
'But why do I have a feeling that I have use of this obscure feature?'
Ian thought, finding that he somehow seemed to have use of this feature of the Dream Potion, but he just couldn't remember right now.
And just when he was trying to recall, a sudden prompt from the system in his mind suddenly caught him off guard.
[Ding!]
