Upon seeing that no one had opened their mouth to speak, Damien then continued on speaking, "Since this is the case, I should take my leave first then. The rest of you can continue with the meeting if you all still have anything to discuss about amongst yourselves."

And right before Damien began to walk over to the door and leave the conference room, Damien looked over to Dave and said, "Dave, there’s something I want to talk to you about in private. So, if you don’t mind, can you come along with me to my house right now?"

Upon hearing his name being called out, Dave immediately looked over to Damien, and right after Damien finished speaking, Dave immediately responded, "Family head, of course I won’t mind."

And right after Dave finished speaking to Damien, he then stood up and cupped his hands at the remaining people within the conference room and said apologetically, "Everyone, I apologize, but I will be taking my leave first too."

Right as Dave and Damien had left the conference room, the few people that had opened their mouths to talk badly about Veronica could be seen immediately opening their mouths to speak.

"I really don’t understand why the family head is being so lenient and magnanimous toward that ungrateful woman. Is it because of that woman’s profession as a weapon enchanter? Or because that woman’s daughter is a direct disciple of Elder Zhi?"
