Peaceful Farm Life-Chapter 2001 - 2002: Did You Offend Her?
Su Yixing saw Huo Qingyi lower her head, so he stopped looking at her and glanced at the inn’s entrance where Matchmaker Wang had left. Then, he fixed his gaze on the waiter who had been shouting earlier.
After a moment, he moved his gaze from the waiter, stood up, and went upstairs.
Out of the corner of her eye, Huo Qingyi noticed Su Yixing going upstairs. She quickly glanced around like a thief before returning to her tasks. Her heart, which had been pounding furiously, gradually returned to its normal rhythm.
It wasn’t until sunset that Huo Qingyi left the counter and went upstairs to her room.
She planned to rest for a while before having dinner.
But just as she entered her room and closed the door, she was engulfed in a tight embrace by Su Yixing.
Su Yixing held her tightly, and she could clearly sense that he was upset because he buried his face in the crook of her neck, with his warm breath brushing over her skin, making it hot and itchy. Yet, he said nothing, merely holding her closely.
The embrace was so tight that she felt a bit of discomfort.
Huo Qingyi hesitated for a moment before cautiously asking, "Husband, what’s wrong?"
Su Yixing did not respond to her question. Instead, he commanded, "Hold me."
Only then did Huo Qingyi return his embrace, but she didn’t press him with further questions.
Su Yixing kept his face nestled against her neck for quite some time before he began kissing Huo Qingyi, continuing until they were both on the bed. Then he playfully nipped at her lips as if to punish her.
"Do you realize you’re attracting attention outside?" Su Yixing grumbled, displeased.
Huo Qingyi found Su Yixing’s question baffling, but she still replied, "I didn’t."
"Didn’t?" Su Yixing snorted even more disdainfully, "The matchmaker came looking for you, and you say you didn’t? And that waiter, why is he so protective of you? I haven’t seen any other waiters being so protective of you!"
Su Yixing actually knew he was being unreasonable, but he was undeniably jealous. He didn’t want Huo Qingyi to stay here anymore. Before this, nobody ever showed interest in Huo Qingyi.
But now, there were people!
Huo Qingyi didn’t know how to explain. The matchmaker had come of her own volition; it wasn’t like she asked her to. As for that waiter, he had just spoken up for her a bit.
"I’m really not attracting attention," Huo Qingyi said, her tone slightly exasperated. Fortunately, she was accustomed to her husband’s unpredictable moods.
Su Yixing didn’t want to argue about it any longer, so he said, "If you say no, then no." He paused and added, "When the new manager arrives, we’ll set off for Xiyun."
"Okay." Huo Qingyi had no objections. Not only was he her master, but he was also her husband, so naturally, she followed him wherever he went.
Seeing Huo Qingyi agree so readily, Su Yixing felt much better. He gave her a quick peck on the lips before pulling her up to sit next to him. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Once they were seated, he commanded, "From now on, don’t talk to that waiter."
Without any hesitation, Huo Qingyi nodded, "Okay." Whatever he said was what she did.
Su Yixing was even more satisfied.
After that, Huo Qingyi truly never spoke to that waiter again.
The waiter couldn’t make heads or tails of the situation and quietly asked a fellow Slayer Tower staff member working as a waiter, "What’s up with Miss Huo? Every time I talk to her, she ignores me."
"Did you offend her somehow?"
