Chapter 34: Restaurant

Asher and Yi Mingxue stepped onto the city street that sloped downward due to the city’s location within the crater.

Even though they came at night, the city was still very lively, there were always people coming and going and going in and out of their residence.

There were visible conflicts at some points, but the city had an extremely powerful formation array, suppressing the power below the Great Paragon so that they seemed only slightly stronger than ordinary humans.

The majority of the fighting was done by them, so their fighting did not make any ripples.

Yi Mingxue observed the people in this city curiously.

They were all also humans just like her.

Only, their types of strength were different. Even in terms of aura, it was obvious.

Their bodies seemed to have manifestations of different types of strength.

Compared to them, Dao Cultivators actually looked more ordinary in terms of aura.

This was because Dao Cultivators did not have any natural talent in their bodies. In order to gain strength, they had to touch and understand the Dao.

Their path was more difficult, but because of that, their strength surpassed Bloodline Cultivators who possessed impressive talent.

"Master, how did the Bloodline Cultivators appear? Are they able to comprehend the Dao like us?" Yi Mingxue seemed to be too curious about them so she asked.

Asher smiled and then explained, "In the earliest eras, some people were born with impressive natural talent. They grew at a rapid pace, looking down on ordinary people with no talent. In a short time, they became True Void Masters.

"Their talents were then passed down to their descendants through the bloodline. Some gain lesser talents and some gain higher talents.

"Their numbers became much larger over time until they filled most of the world. This was until ordinary people discovered Dao cultivation methods. Only then were the ordinary people able to compete. The effectiveness of Dao cultivation was quickly seen although it took more time to develop.

"Of course, they can also understand the Dao. However, with innate talents that can be developed easily, how could they possibly have the patience to understand the Dao.

"As you know, the Dao Heart is so important in understanding the Dao that we can’t even break a promise, yet they never train their Dao Heart. As they get stronger and older, their Dao Heart develops in a different direction so understanding the Dao becomes more difficult.

"Nowadays, most of the Bloodline Cultivators live in Artificial Great Universes like this. The difference between their Artificial Great Universe and ours is that the pressure of their Great Universe is much stronger. This is because they don’t understand the Dao, so their Artificial Great Universes are much rougher. In the past, they were very arrogant, but now they can only be filled with respect for us, Dao Cultivators."

"It seems like in the early eras, we had a hard time," Yi Mingxue said after hearing all that.

"Yeah, but back then, I wasn’t even born yet," Asher replied with a faint smile.

Not long after, they had arrived at the city center.

It was full of luxurious buildings that were either shops or restaurants as well as private palaces that stood arrogantly.

There were many young people wandering around, looking arrogant and proud. Some wore dragon robes and crowns or wore beautiful dresses and tiaras.

Their lives seemed so hedonistic that it made others envious.

Sometimes they fought amongst themselves and sometimes they bullied people without backgrounds.

Yi Mingxue looked upset when she saw them. Perhaps if her teacher wasn’t beside her, she would have beaten them up one by one.

"Look!" Asher suddenly pointed at a restaurant.

It was the most restaurant in this area where the entire building was covered in gold so it always emitted a golden light.

The restaurant was large but rather closed. The people who entered were also few.

Even those noble children didn’t enter the restaurant.

Sometimes, those who entered were ordinary-looking.

When Yi Mingxue observed the restaurant, she finally realized that it provided a menu made of False Void Monster meat of the kind that humans would normally eat whether it was beef or chicken.

"You’ve never eaten Void Monster meat. It is the most expensive food in any Great Universe. Even to cook it can only be done by a Void Master." Asher explained to his student.

He signaled for her to enter the restaurant.

Of course, she did not refuse as she was also curious.

Although she had one Void Monster corpse, namely the Desert General, she could not cook it. Even if she could, she still wouldn’t eat it because she didn’t eat lizards.

She only ate meat from commonly eaten animals.

They entered the restaurant simultaneously where the space was quite spacious with tables spaced far apart from each other.

The diners were few. Only about a third of the tables were occupied. The lowest cultivation of those diners was a 2nd Stage Great Paragon.

There were not even any 1st Stage Great Paragons.

Those Great Paragons also seemed to be trying to eat at this restaurant for the first time and who knew when the next time they would be able to eat would be.

"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen!" Asher and Yi Mingxue were immediately greeted by a beautiful, friendly waiter.

She was full of politeness as she looked at them.

At least half of the patrons of this restaurant were staring at the newly arrived guests.

They probably wanted to see if they were great people. After all, only a few people could buy food here.

Asher was naturally not recognized by anyone. No one even cared about him because his aura showed that he was only a Paragon.

However, when seeing Yi Mingxue, almost all eyes widened.

When Yi Mingxue was just walking around in the city, naturally no one recognized her.

She had just debuted and her face had yet to spread.

This could not be said for the experts. Ever since they heard about her, they without hesitation paid top money just to see her portrait.

Without a doubt, this woman was the same figure who fought with the Desert King until the latter had to ask the Heaven Valley City Lord for help.

She had been confirmed to be ranked seventh among all the False Void Masters although her name had not been known until now.

The waiter had also seen Yi Mingxue’s portrait since she was always meeting with experts. Some did not mind sharing the portrait with her.

Only, she realized it too late. It was only when the diners showed a surprised reaction that she realized.

Without hesitation, she sent a message to her boss that a big guest had arrived.

Soon after, a middle-aged man in a chef’s uniform came out of the kitchen.

His body was large and muscular, having reddish eyes that gave off a frightening impression.

Even his aura made many visitors depressed even if he didn’t intentionally release his aura.

The boss had the title of Iron Hand Monarch which was due to his extraordinary strength.

He was also a member of the Falling Star Royal Clan. Even one of the strongest even though his cultivation was still at the 2nd Stage.

He was one of the strongest among 2nd Stage False Void Masters without including Dao Cultivators.

Compared to his strength, his cooking skills were far more renowned.

In the entire Boundless Ancient Realm, if he said he was number 2 in cooking, no one would dare to say number 1.

Seeing Yi Mingxue, he was also very surprised.

He approached her in a hurry.

"Lady!" He greeted her by simply calling her Lady because he didn’t know her name.

"Welcome to my little restaurant, please sit wherever you want. I will soon cook the best menu for you," he said with great politeness. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

In contrast to his frightening expression, in front of Yi Mingxue, he tried to smile as best he could. He even seemed to be in awe of him.

Everyone respected strength and Yi Mingxue had strength so no one minded to respect her no matter what their personality was like.

As for Asher, he was completely ignored because he was only a Paragon.

He really was much weaker than everyone else.

According to their minds, he was just Yi Mingxue’s disciple who happened to be brought along by her.

This kind of misunderstanding was to be expected and Asher had already told Yi Mingxue to ignore other people’s misunderstandings.

The woman nodded lightly without saying anything before walking to a table beside the window facing the street.

She and Asher sat there, waiting for the Iron Hand Monarch to cook.

The latter was not surprised by Yi Mingxue’s lack of response.

He could pretty much guess what kind of woman she was. Approaching her was as difficult as climbing the sky.

Of course, he did not mind. He still showed her a friendly smile before returning to the kitchen.

The other diners also didn’t dare to keep looking at Yi Mingxue, worried that she was distracted and angry with them.

On the other hand, Yi Mingxue continued to observe this restaurant, occasionally staring at the other diners.

There was one visitor that she stared at for a longer time. It was a man with long black hair that was somewhat curly with an almost covered face.

He sat far away in solitude, giving off a gloomy impression.

As an extremely powerful Dao Cultivator, Yi Mingxue could sense a lot of bad karma from that man.

She usually didn’t care much for those with bad karma, but this one was too much so she felt somewhat disgusted.
