Phoenix Revenge System-Chapter 118: PRS 19 Liona
In the morning, the roads were very quiet, so they were able to reach the city in just an hour and a half, coinciding with the sun just rising over the eastern horizon with a reddish-orange glow.
Laus and Lura parted ways with Arman after paying him for the trip. "Thank you very much for taking us so early in the morning," said Laus, shaking Arman’s hand warmly.
"You’re welcome, Mr. Laus. I hope everything goes well for you," replied Arman kindly.
They parted ways in front of the market, which was already bustling with activity as traders and buyers crowded the main market in the city of U. The hustle and bustle of bargaining could be heard from a distance.
Since it was still too early, the couple walked around to buy cakes as souvenirs for the village while looking at the market in the city, killing time while waiting for the dealer to open.
"Honey, let’s buy cakes for Lano, Lan, and Liona. They will definitely be happy if we bring them souvenirs," said Lura with a smile, imagining the happy faces of her children.
"Yes, dear. We’ll choose the delicious ones," replied Laus, holding his wife’s hand.
Liona, who was being carried facing forward, could see many market snacks that she had never tasted before. Her round eyes sparkled with curiosity.
"Buy... buy..." she said, pointing at every food that looked interesting and delicious to her.
Now that she had money, Lura was not stingy and bought one of each variety that her baby girl pointed to, making Liona clap her hands with joy. "Yeay! Thank you, Mom!" Liona exclaimed cheerfully.
The morning market was quite crowded and congested, so Lura walked carefully so that Liona would not get crushed by the visitors who came to buy goods.
"Honey, hold on tight. It’s really crowded," said Lura, a little worried, as she hugged Liona tighter.
The couple walked slowly, glancing left and right, looking for good items or delicious food to buy as souvenirs for their three children at home.
When they arrived in front of a stall selling a wide variety of market snacks, Lura stopped. "Wow, there are so many cakes, honey. Let’s buy these ones," she said, pointing to several types of cakes.
Meanwhile, Laus chose to look at the side of the cake seller to see some knives and cutting tools being sold there. "Hmm, this knife is pretty good too. Maybe I can use it at home later," he muttered softly.
"Do you like cakes, dear? Would you like this one...?" said a middle-aged woman as she picked up a cupcake shaped like a bear wearing a pretty skirt, which Liona happily accepted.
"It’s delicious... thank you, Grandma," said Liona politely in a cheerful voice.
The middle-aged woman, who still looked beautiful, smiled warmly as she watched the baby greedily eat the sponge cake in her hand until Lura, who had been looking to her left, choosing a cake to take home later, suddenly sat up straight.
"Who gave you this cake, dear?" asked Lura, turning to her right to look at and thank the person who had given her child the cake.
Thump.
Lura and the woman froze in place, their eyes meeting, filled with longing. Time seemed to stop between them.
"Mom, it’s time for you and Grandma to make up. You both have longing in your hearts but are too proud to admit it," Liona muttered to herself as she chewed her cake.
Lura, who heard her baby’s words, felt embarrassed because she didn’t expect her daughter to know her secret.
Meanwhile, Atri, who seemed to hear the voice of the baby she had just given the cake to, was a little surprised when she realized that the baby was not talking and was currently enjoying the bear-shaped cake, of which only the body remained because the head, hands, and feet had already been eaten by Liona, whose mouth was now bulging like a hamster that had eaten too much.
"Hmm, adult problems are so complicated. Why not just make up? Haven’t they already met and been longing for each other?" Liona muttered to herself again, occasionally glancing at her mother and grandmother with her round eyes.
Laus, who had just joined the two of them, heard his baby’s heartbeat and sensed the awkwardness between his wife and mother-in-law, so he tried to bridge the communication gap between them.
After paying for all the cakes his wife had chosen, Laus walked forward and took Atri’s hand and kissed the back of it politely. "Mother..." he said softly.
"We should sit at the rice stall over there and talk. We have a lot to discuss, Mom," said Laus, who immediately took them both to a pecel rice stall not far from where they were standing, before his wife and mother-in-law could refuse.
Once inside the stall, Laus immediately ordered two glasses of hot sweet tea and one glass of black coffee. "Sir, order sweet tea, as usual," said the seller, remembering their order.
Laus, who knew his wife’s anxiety, gently rubbed Lura’s hand, which was clutching the bench she was sitting on. "Calm down, Mom. Everything will be fine," he whispered reassuringly.
"Honey..." said Lura with a choked voice, her eyes beginning to well up with tears.
Before Lura could finish her sentence, Atri interrupted her. "Let’s go home. Your father and brother will be happy to see you. Your mother has been waiting for you to come home for a long time, dear. Moreover, they have never seen your baby girl. Your brother will be so happy to have such a beautiful niece," she said, lovingly stroking Liona’s cheek.
Lura felt that it was time for her to make peace with her family and let go of everything, so she nodded her head. "Okay, Mom. Lura is sorry for everything. After finishing some business here, my husband and I will stop by the house before going home," said Lura with a trembling voice.
Atri, who was still confused about what else to say, just nodded with a slightly satisfied expression, seeing that her daughter was not refusing to come home. "Thank God, dear. I’m so happy to hear that. The house feels empty without you," she said sincerely.
If she remembered correctly, the last time Lura visited her parents was after Lano was born. That meant it had been almost six years since she had visited her parents. Time passed so quickly without her realizing it.
Usually, even though her parents’ welcome was cold, every year, every Eid, Lura and her husband would come to visit with their children.
However, in addition to the difficulty of taking their three children on public transportation to the city during Eid, the main reason they could no longer visit Lura’s mother and father in the city was because of their increasingly difficult financial situation.
Now, she had accidentally met her mother at the market. Invited to come home, Lura had no reason to refuse. Moreover, her family had never seen her baby girl, so they would make this a visit to introduce the new member of their family.
After finishing a cup of hot tea that her son-in-law had ordered, Atri excused herself. "I’ll go first. I want to go shopping for cooking later. I want to cook your favorite dish, dear," she said with a smile.
She planned to cook Lura’s favorite dishes as soon as she got home. Therefore, she immediately went around, buying the ingredients and side dishes she would cook later.
Seeing that it was already noon, Laus immediately asked his wife to go to the nearest dealer around the market. "Come on, dear. Let’s go to the dealer now before it gets too hot," he said.
The salesperson, who saw their first customers arrive after he opened the store, immediately greeted them warmly. "Good afternoon, sir, ma’am. Please come in. How can we help you?" he said with a big smile.
"I want to look for a motorcycle, sir. Can you show me which ones are available?" said Laus as he looked at the motorcycles in the dealership with great interest.
All the motorcycles on display at the dealership were shown and explained, from their specifications to their prices, prompting Laus and Lura to start calculating and weighing up which motorcycle to buy to meet their future needs.
"This one is good, honey. But it’s a bit expensive," whispered Lura as she looked at the price tag.
"So, none of the motorcycles here are ready yet, sir?" asked Laus, frowning as he clarified.
"That’s right, sir. We still have to order all the motorcycles here from the province. The fastest delivery time is five days. If there are any unexpected delays, it could take around a week for the goods to arrive here," explained the salesperson patiently.
Laus, who was thinking about which motorcycle to buy, was suddenly startled by a voice coming from behind him. A mustachioed man in neat clothes, whom he guessed to be the dealer’s owner, came up to greet him.
"Excuse me, may I ask how you plan to buy this motorcycle, on credit or cash?" he asked, handing him a leaflet containing information about purchasing a motorcycle on credit.
"I’d prefer to pay cash, sir, so I don’t have to worry about monthly payments. Besides, I don’t want to deal with the hassle of installments," said Laus as he politely returned the promotional leaflet.
Hearing that the customer wanted to buy the motorcycle with cash, the mustachioed man’s eyes lit up. "That’s great, sir!"
"If you want to buy it in cash and want a motorcycle that is ready, we happen to have one that was just returned by a customer. The license plate and documents are already ready, we just need to transfer the ownership. It’s still brand new, but the customer wanted to change to a different model. It’s still in new condition, sir," he said enthusiastically.
"Can I see the item first, sir?" Laus asked immediately, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"Of course! Come with me..." he said excitedly, inviting Laus and Lura to follow him.
Seeing the black GL motorcycle, which looked so stylish, Laus suddenly felt love at first sight. The motorcycle was shiny and looked very well maintained.
Liona also immediately muttered to herself, "It’s very nice! It’s still new, never been used. Since it was returned by a customer, Dad can negotiate the price. I think, if Dad is good at negotiating, he can get it for three hundred thousand."
Hearing his wife’s words, who also liked the motorcycle being offered, Laus immediately made an offer. "Sir, if I pay cash now, can you lower the price?"
Although he couldn’t get the exact price of three hundred thousand, at least Laus could get the motorcycle for three hundred and three thousand, a price that was quite reasonable for him.
"Wow, that’s not bad, honey. We managed to get a good price," Laus whispered to his wife with a satisfied smile.
Thanks to the dealer owner’s connections, the transfer of ownership for the Document could be done in just one hour, allowing Laus and Lura to take the motorcycle and its documents home without having to return to the city to handle the paperwork.
"Thanks God, everything is settled, Ma’am. Now we have our own motorcycle," Laus said happily, stroking his new motorcycle.
After buying two helmets, as they had promised Atri, the two of them immediately rode their new motorcycle to Lura’s parents’ house, which was two kilometers from the city center market. A gentle breeze blew against their faces as the motorcycle slowly rode along the city streets that were starting to get busy. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"Sir, I’m nervous about meeting your father and sister," said Lura, hugging her husband’s waist more tightly.
"Don’t worry, ma’am. Everything will be fine. Your mother welcomed us warmly earlier. I’m sure your father will be happy too," Laus reassured her.
Meanwhile, Liona, in her mother’s arms, smiled to herself, "Finally, the whole family will be together again. I hope everything goes smoothly."
