Planet Pulverizer: A Mortal's Ascent-Chapter 970: The Impact
Chapter 970: The Impact
Swoosh!
A streak of flowing light shot over from the edge of the sky.
It was none other than Creator Li, who had already broken through to the true Creation Realm.
"Your Majesty Origin."
Creator Li bowed in greeting to Li Pin with sincerity, acknowledging Li Pin's selfless act of intercepting the King of Gods, as well as to thank Li Pin for his generous forbearance in not interfering when he attained the Creation Realm.
After all, considering all that they had done when they had just returned to the starry cosmos, it would have been entirely reasonable for Li Pin to kill those few Quasi-Creations on the spot.
And at that time, Li Pin fully had the strength to do so.
Li Pin gave Creator Li a slight nod.
"Your Majesty Origin... are you planning... to attempt stepping into Eternity to resolve the crisis the starry cosmos now faces?"
"Yes," Li Pin responded softly.
"Eternal..." Creator Li gave a bitter smile. "The more we understand the greatness of the Eternal, the more we realize that our hasty return to the starry cosmos back then, hoping to face an Eternal... even to confront merely the Power of Eternity left behind, was such reckless ignorance and arrogance..."
He bowed once more to Li Pin. "I sincerely apologize for the harm our arrogance and ignorance once caused you."
"It doesn't matter anymore," Li Pin said calmly. "The greatness of Eternity truly surpasses imagination. If I fail in my ascension... I hope you can take the seed of the starry cosmos and escape as far as possible into the depths of the cosmos. At the very least... this will leave behind the legacy and traces to prove that this universe once existed."
"I understand." Creator Li nodded solemnly. "Even if you achieve the greatness of Eternity and slay the King of Gods, I will still leave the starry cosmos and wander in the Void of Chaos. On one hand, to cleanse—or rather to draw away—the dangers that may exist on the edges of the starry cosmos. On the other hand... to obtain more legacies and wondrous items from the Void of Chaos, to give back to the starry cosmos. This will also serve... as my way of atoning for past wrongs."
Li Pin heard this but said nothing.
Whatever Creator Li chose to do was his own decision. Li Pin would no longer interfere.
"Let's go," Li Pin said to Null.
His avatar turned into flowing light, heading to merge with his true body.
Creator Li quietly watched. He stayed silent for a very long time.
It wasn't until Li Pin and Null completely disappeared into his true body that Creation Li finally spoke again. "I wish you success in taking that step, so that we may truly glimpse the greatness of Eternity."
With that, his avatar departed, returning to his true body.
Transcendent Black White was there too. Watching the rapidly strengthening Creator Li, he asked, "Those words you just spoke..."
"They were true." Creator Li nodded. "Every word, sincere and genuine."
He glanced at Transcendent Black White. "Including my plan to head into the Void of Chaos after the war between the starry cosmos and the Gods World ends."
Transcendent Black White opened his mouth to speak, but considering their years of friendship, he chose to respect Creator Li's decision.
"This... is no longer our era. We... should bid farewell to the past," Creator Li said with emotion.
He glanced into the distance, at the massive Liberator Origin. Even though Creator Li had attained Creation, he still had no idea how many years it would take for him to catch up to Li Pin.
He gazed at the King of Gods, who was already beginning to rapidly fission, and had a scale so immense it left one utterly at a loss.
This external environment made Creator Li feel deeply estranged. It was to the extent that he no longer experienced any sense of familiarity right beside the starry cosmos, in the very homeland that birthed and nurtured them.
"Since we are bidding farewell to our era, let's follow the custom of this era and change names." Creator Li smiled. "We were already beings expelled from the starry cosmos. In the future, we are destined to wander in the Void of Chaos..."
He raised his head, gazing at the Void of Chaos, where nothing existed except individual existences.
Creator Li said, "From today onward, I shall call myself... the Void Wanderer Overlord."
Transcendent Black White looked at him. Creator Li, having achieved Creation, was already truly the uncrowned king of the starry cosmos, yet he still intended to wander the Void of Chaos.
"The Void of Chaos is too vast and boundless, with too many mysteries and unknowns awaiting our exploration."
Creator Li, or rather, the Void Wandering Overlord, spoke with yearning. "In the future... if we defeat the Gods World, defeat the King of Gods, I will journey to the Empyreon World. There, beings stronger than even him still remain. They may one day bring crisis to our starry cosmos.
"And if we fail to defeat the King of Gods... then all the more reason for us to go to the Empyrean World. They destroyed our homeland. We should make them pay the same price."
Transcendent Black White fell silent. After a long while, he gave a bitter smile. "Then wait for me. When the time comes, we will go together."
***
Standing before Li Pin's true body, Null sighed with heartfelt emotion. "Creation... truly is a great form of life."
"But compared to Eternity, it is not even in the same dimension," Li Pin remarked. "It's only that each person's pursuits and demands are different."
Null said, "If one could learn contentment, then the Astral God should be the ultimate pursuit of all living beings."
Li Pin nodded in acknowledgement of this statement.
Whether a person lived successfully depended on their pursuits, abilities, and the self-satisfaction of their heart. If one had sufficient capability, constantly pursuing higher paths while continually satisfying oneself in the process, it was not impossible.
But if one lacked capability, even if their desires and ambitions reached the sky, they would still fail to achieve anything. They'd blame heaven and others, and ultimately destroy their own spirit.
"There is one thing I must remind you of." Null looked at Li Pin. "You said I possess traits bestowed by the Eternal, but it does not mean I can roam in boundless spacetime. Along the way, I may pay an immense price, just like when I returned from the future to the present, I lost many things, even forgot what I truly was, and could only call myself Null. Therefore, even if you intend to use me as the key in this battle between Eternals, once I return to the future, I may not be able to help you."
At this point, her tone paused slightly. "I may even be a hindrance instead of help, aiding that Eternal by exposing the outcome of you defying destiny against him."
"All beings go through repeated cycles; all things follow cause and effect. Eternity stands above spacetime, and all things ultimately return to destiny," said Li Pin calmly. "And I believe, being cut off by Eternity, perishing before Eternity, that is not my destiny."
"You are as confident as ever," Null said softly. "And can even be said to be arrogant."
"Perhaps... that itself is part of my destiny," replied Li Pin. "And I have already prepared myself to face this kind of destiny."
Null thought back on Li Pin's arrangements and quietly left, leaving no regrets behind.
Null sighed with emotion. "You have lived with great clarity."
"I simply always knew what it was that I wanted." Li Pin smiled. "So, my life has had fewer distractions, and fewer troubles."
Null looked at Li Pin.
Birth, age, sickness, death, parting from loved ones, meeting with hatred, the suffering of the five aggregates, and unfulfilled desires—these seemed to have never appeared in Li Pin's life. Just as he had said, he had always known what he wanted.
And for that, he would not be swayed by any interference, but would walk steadfastly along his chosen path. Even if he were to fall midway, he'd never feel regret.
If, along the way, he learned something every now and then, then—to him—it would be no different from hearing the Way in the morning and passing contentedly in the evening.
"I now believe you truly possess a unique aptitude," Null said. "It is yourself."
Li Pin gave a slight nod, accepting Null's praise. "Thank you."
"Perhaps we would not meet again in the future, but in this era, I had truly lived a life. And Null was only a beginning for Intelligent Lifeforms, not its meaning. So... I decided to give myself a name to record this life," Null said with a smile. "Do you have any suggestions?"
"Suggestions..."
Li Pin fell into deep thought.
After a while, he seemed to think of something and said, "Null represents nothingness, but since you have acknowledged your existence and intend to record this life... then begin with One."
"From Null to One..."
Null thought for a moment, then broke into a smile. "It's a good name."
"Then..."
As Li Pin looked at Null one more time, his true selves—past, present, and future—began to reshape within his inner world.
As the three selves collided and merged, the Heavenly Fate Light erupted with an unprecedented brilliance, freezing the surrounding starry sky in an instant.
And it was just as Li Pin had suspected—Null indeed possessed Eternal traits. Even under the freezing force of the Heavenly Fate Art, she could still faintly perceive something.
In this completely frozen world, she raised her head slightly and looked toward Li Pin.
At this moment, as Li Pin's past, present, and future true selves fused, his entire being rapidly rose, higher and higher still.
Very soon, he reached the void that had previously barred his path.
That void seemed erased by an unseen power. All time, space, and causality ceased to exist, forming an eternal gulf of nothingness.
We've arrived, Li Pin thought.
Null also beheld this scene.
"Your path..."
That absolute void and eternal nothingness made even her eyes reveal a trace of fear.
"Next..."
Li Pin's true body began to burn and collapse.
The foundation of his true body universe was his power of the Dao Realm. And the very energy fueling the Heavenly Fate Light was also the power of the Dao Realm.
Now, to let the Heavenly Fate Light carry him across this eternal void of nothingness into the boundless spacetime, he needed to focus all the Dao Realm power he could gather and turn it into fuel.
In this process, his true body, an immense universe spanning tens of billions of light-years, had to be burned away entirely in this moment.
All for breaking through this absolute void, this eternal nothingness, severed by that Eternal!
