Playboy: Medical and Martial Master-Chapter 296 - 295: Joining Forces with Yao Rao!
In a dense forest of ancient, grotesquely shaped trees and old vines, Yao Rao landed gracefully on a branch. She watched the swift, flickering bolt of lightning that was Sun Zhe, and for a moment, she was simply incredulous.
She hadn't expected that in less than a month, Sun Zhe would have made such astonishing progress. Each of his moves was not only sharp and cunning, but his control over the details was also perfect. If her Cultivation Realm hadn't been higher than his, she was certain she would have lost.
This kid really is something else.
Yao Rao centered herself, her expression turning serious. She knew this was no longer the same boy she had casually toyed with by the reservoir that night.
BOOM!
Just as she was preparing to go all out and take down Sun Zhe as quickly as possible, the sound of a large tree crashing to the ground suddenly echoed from the dense forest nearby. At the same time, she felt a terrifying aura wash over her, making the hairs on the back of her neck stand up and filling her with a sense of dread.
"We'll stop here!" she called out. She glanced at Sun Zhe, then gracefully leaped to Han Xinyue's side.
Sun Zhe, having the same idea, immediately stopped and turned to run toward Bai Ran and Huang Qianggang.
「A short while later.」
Looking toward the direction of the commotion, Sun Zhe's eyes widened, and he blurted out, "Holy shit!"
He saw the massive black snake from before. It was like a living drainage pipe, slithering toward them at incredible speed. Trees snapped and fell wherever it passed, as if it were a walking catastrophe.
"Run!" Sun Zhe acted decisively, helping the injured Huang Qianggang to his feet as they fled.
On the other side, Yao Rao and her apprentice, Han Xinyue, clearly had the same idea and immediately began to flee. Unexpectedly, before anyone could get far, another giant snake suddenly emerged from the forest. Its massive body swung sideways, blocking their path like a thick wall.
Sun Zhe stopped abruptly and looked up. This new snake had scales as red as blood, a golden stripe down its back, and was much larger than the black one. Moreover, this red snake exuded an invisible, oppressive aura, far more terrifying than the black snake's.
Gritting his teeth, Sun Zhe muttered, "Did it call its dad for backup?"
Yao Rao glanced at him. "This is a Flood Snake with at least five hundred years of cultivation. We'll only stand a chance if we work together."
"How do we do this?" Sun Zhe asked without hesitation.
"First, we join forces to kill the red snake," Yao Rao said calmly. "As for the black one, it has only about three hundred years of cultivation. It's nothing to fear."
"Alright, let's take out the red one first!"
Yao Rao said no more. A powerful aura suddenly emanated from her as she leaped into the air. As if by magic, she conjured an exquisite woman's longsword and slashed a beam of snow-white sword light toward the red snake.
The sword light tore through the air, slashing directly at the red snake's seven-inch point.
The red snake opened its bloody maw, revealing rows of sharp fangs, and roared angrily at Yao Rao, seemingly in pain.
Yao Rao's brow furrowed slightly. With a delicate wave of her hand, she released her True Qi to form a barrier, which blocked the putrid, poisonous wind blowing toward her.
「On the other side.」
Sun Zhe glanced at Bai Ran and Huang Qianggang, then turned to Han Xinyue. "You three hold off this black snake."
With that, he unleashed Witch's Step. He became a blur, crackling with furious lightning as he flashed forward and punched the red snake's seven-inch point.
"Nice one, Doctor Sun! What a hit!" Huang Qianggang praised loudly.
Struck by the powerful electric shock, the red snake recoiled. It opened its wide mouth to roar in anger, its agile tail lashing out like a whip and snapping trees left and right.
Sun Zhe retreated in time, landing beside Yao Rao. He turned and grinned at her. "Looks like my Magic Attack is more effective."
Yao Rao gave him a sidelong glance. "Childish," she said flatly.
She then lifted her sword and walked toward the red snake. "Be careful," she warned. "You've enraged it. A beast with five hundred years of cultivation isn't easy to deal with."
Sun Zhe's heart sank slightly at her words, and he followed her. Catching the faint, sweet fragrance in the air, his gaze fell uncontrollably on Yao Rao's perky, peach-shaped buttocks. "Does Sect Leader Yao have a plan?" he asked. "Or are we just going to charge in and fight it head-on?"
Yao Rao's face was expressionless, her eyes thoughtful. "Its weak point is not its seven-inch point. A Jiao Beast with this level of cultivation has intelligence comparable to a human's. It won't easily expose its weakness."
"That's a great analysis," Sun Zhe said. "Too bad it's useless."
"Try attacking its eyes," Yao Rao instructed. "Use your True Qi Thunder Transformation."
"Okay!"
"If you knew a Thunder Skill, your True Qi Thunder Transformation would be even stronger," Yao Rao added.
"What Thunder Skill? I've never even heard of it."
"Forget it. Just do as I said. You go get its attention. I will find the right moment to kill it in a single strike."
"..."
「Meanwhile.」
As Sun Zhe and Yao Rao pursued the red snake deeper into the forest, Bai Ran, Huang Qianggang, and Han Xinyue were struggling fiercely against the black snake. The three of them were only Martial Artists at the Qi Refining Realm, and they were sorely outmatched by a beast with three hundred years of cultivation.
BANG!
Han Xinyue was sent flying by the black snake's tail. She crashed heavily into a tree and collapsed after spitting up a mouthful of blood.
Bai Ran's True Qi surged around her. She stared intently at the pouncing black snake, then suddenly shoved the injured Huang Qianggang aside and ran in the opposite direction. Taking advantage of the complex terrain, she dodged left and right, using the trees as cover in an attempt to lure the snake away.
However, despite its size, the black snake was not clumsy. It weaved through the trees and quickly cornered Bai Ran, opening its massive maw to lunge at her.
Bai Ran was shocked. It was too late to stop, so she pushed forward, leaped up, and punched the snake. She had infused True Qi into her fist; a punch like that could send a large water buffalo flying.
However, when her fist connected with the black snake's nose, it was like punching a wall of solid steel. The black snake didn't even budge; it was as immovable as a mountain.
ROOOAR—!
The snake simply opened its mouth and roared. The concussive force of its stinking breath sent Bai Ran flying like a leaf in the wind.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Seeing the black snake about to devour Bai Ran, Huang Qianggang ignored the pain in his gut, grabbed his AK, and fired several shots at the black snake. "You bastard! Come on, come and eat your grandpa!"
BANG! BANG! BANG...
But when he emptied the magazine, the black snake remained unmoved. It shook its head slightly as if mocking him, then opened its massive maw again and lunged toward Bai Ran.
"Ranran!" Huang Qianggang shouted. Disregarding his injuries, he rushed toward the snake, unleashed all of his True Qi, and slammed his body into the side of the black snake's head. The blow knocked it aside, allowing the fallen Bai Ran to narrowly escape.
"Qianggang!" Bai Ran cried, struggling to her feet to pull him away.
SCHLICK!
The next moment, a pitch-black object suddenly pierced through Huang Qianggang's back and emerged from his chest, as easily as a needle passing through paper.
Bai Ran's body went rigid. Her beautiful eyes trembled as she stared at the thing protruding from Huang Qianggang's chest. She was horrified to realize it was the black snake's forked tongue.
"Qianggang..."
"Ranran, run... Don't worry about me!" Clenching his jaw, Huang Qianggang suddenly drew the dagger from his waist, swung back, and severed the snake's tongue. "Run! Go now!"
He shoved Bai Ran away forcefully, clutched the dagger, and lunged at the black snake, intending to sacrifice his life to buy time for her.
Just then, Han Xinyue leaped down from a tree. She threw a bundle of grenades tied together with rope at the black snake. She then spun around and tackled Huang Qianggang to the ground, shouting to Bai Ran, "Get down if you don't want to die!"
