Playtime's Over, CEO: She's Really Done With You-Chapter 487: I Do
Serena looked at Silas Hawthorne in front of her, and he was smiling too.
A promise for a lifetime, a pair of rings, and the smile in his eyes before her.
Not far away stood all their family and friends.
Sheila Jenkins and Clara Huxley were watching them, Seraphina was still bouncing around, and there were two photos over there.
Serena looked at Evan Sheridan’s photo and said in her heart, "Dad, I’m married."
"Now, the groom may kiss the bride!"
As the host’s voice came through, Silas approached Serena.
"Serena." He softly called her name.
"Silas." Serena softly replied.
Then, he leaned in to kiss her lips.
The room erupted in applause, with their wedding vows being played all around.
"Serena Sterling, do you take this man to be your husband? To wed him and be bound to him, in sickness and in health, in poverty and wealth, or any other reasons, to love him, care for him, respect him, accept him, and be faithful to him until the end of your life?"
Serena looked at Silas Hawthorne, smiled, and said, "I do."
"Silas Hawthorne, do you take this woman to be your wife? To wed her and be bound to her, in sickness and in health, in poverty and wealth, or any other reasons, to love her, care for her, respect her, accept her, and be faithful to her until the end of your life?"
Silas had a hint of redness at the corner of his eye: "I do."
The entire venue was filled with touching scenes.
"It’s really been so hard."
Many people had tears in their eyes.
Even the usually hot-tempered and straightforward Jasper Ford wiped the corner of his eye.
He held Gigi Sutton’s hand beside him.
"Gigi, sniff, sniff, we also have to have a super grand wedding in the future, so touching."
Gigi Sutton nodded with red-rimmed eyes.
And Bianca Lynch...
Bianca Lynch was crying so hard that her makeup was ruined.
"Sob, sob, Serena... you must be happy!"
At the table, Isla Lawson and Xander Linton were applauding too.
"Serena, even if you don’t belong to me, I still wish for your happiness," Xander murmured softly.
Next to him, Isla wasn’t looking at Xander, her eyes were only on Serena who stood there.
Be happy.
Meanwhile, inside a speeding car, Julian Lawson watched this scene. Although his face seemed expressionless, his tightly clenched fist betrayed his emotions at that moment.
The ceremony was complete.
They were now husband and wife.
No matter how he tried to stop it, she still married Silas Hawthorne.
Everything that had happened over these days felt like a dream.
A nightmare.
In the end, he had nothing left.
Nothing remained.
His eyes turned red as Julian Lawson put his phone aside and looked at the slanting sun outside the window.
The sun was gradually setting.
The wind gently blew, lifting many things.
Something was blown by the wind.
Julian instinctively reached out to catch it.
It was a piece of a veil.
It looked like the veil Serena had dropped on the bridge.
Julian clenched it tightly.
A single tear fell on the veil, then he carefully folded it and put it into his pocket.
...
The ceremony finally concluded.
Silas Hawthorne released Serena.
Serena’s face was a bit red as she looked at the attendees, feeling a bit shy but still smiling generously.
The other hand was tightly held by Silas, and Seraphina was happily bouncing around them.
Hoping that in the future, they would always remain as happy as they are now.
Serena looked at Silas Hawthorne beside her, only to find he had been watching her all along.
Then it was time for the photo session.
First, a family photo.
"Seraphina." Serena called out to the bouncing little girl.
Seraphina immediately bounced over and stood between the two.
Each holding one of her hands, they held Seraphina, with both sets of parents on either side.
"Click! Click!"
The photographer continued taking pictures. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Then many friends came over.
Serena hugged each of them as they arrived, and then took pictures together.
Everything was going smoothly.
Everyone was discussing enthusiastically.
And it was at this moment that things took a turn.
The large screen, constantly showing footage nearby, suddenly flickered and went dark.
Serena and Silas Hawthorne immediately looked over.
"What happened?"
"Why did it suddenly go dark?"
"Yeah, is there a bug at the backend?"
...
Silas Hawthorne immediately reached for the walkie-talkie from the stunned host.
Before he could say anything, the screen lit up again.
Everyone looked over and then there was a rustling sound.
It sounded like a shower.
Then, as the camera gradually focused, it was clear this was shot from a hidden angle.
Next, the bathroom door opened, and Serena, in pajamas with wet hair wrapped, walked out of the bathroom.
Although she was dressed, having just come out of the shower, her clothes were wet, sticking to her body, revealing her curves.
She seemed to sense something, and quickly adjusted her clothes for them to hang naturally, then swiftly went into the room.
"What is this!"
"Secret photo?"
"Is that Serena? The bride today?"
Buzz—the hall burst into discussion.
"Cut the power now! Go to the equipment room!" Silas was shouting angrily, but it would take some time.
And a little time was all it took.
The power was instantly cut, but that wasn’t all.
At some point, a projector appeared at the edge.
The moment the power was cut off, it projected countless photos.
At the same time.
"Boom!"
Something exploded, revealing many ball-like objects hidden nearby bursting open, ejecting countless sheets of paper.
Someone immediately picked them up.
They were various secretly taken photos of Serena.
Countless photos.
Some even showed large areas of skin.
Even though the critical parts were not exposed, it was already enough.
It erupted.
The whole place was in an uproar.
"What does this mean?"
"Where did so many photos of Serena come from? What happened?"
"Wait, I think I noticed something. Serena looks younger in some photos!"
"Do you remember Serena’s stepfather William Wyatt? The one Julian Lawson put away?"
"Are you saying..."
"Could it be William Wyatt who took them! Back then, Julian Lawson went to great lengths to put him away, it’s quite possible..."
"What?!"
"Oh my God, but wasn’t he her stepfather? Living together for so long? Could there have been..."
"Who knows, if this is true, then Serena and Sheila being a pair of mother and daughter would be..."
Not just at the wedding venue, a lot of photos and videos surfaced online as well.
Though quickly taken down as soon as they appeared and subsequently blocked from reappearing, the amount of attention was too high, and it inevitably spread.
Both online and offline discussions exploded.
Countless eyes were focused on the bride on stage, Serena.
