Plunder-Chapter 234: I Am the Evidence
"An Ge, save me!"
An Kexin suddenly burst out from a corner and threw herself in front of Zhou Jin’an, grabbing his arm and pleading with a face full of misery.
A cold frost immediately surfaced in Zhou Jin’an’s indifferent eyes.
On the way back from Los Angeles, he had already decided to settle accounts with An Kexin.
Only, he had not yet sought her out when An Kexin delivered herself to his doorstep.
"Save you?"
Zhou Jin’an snorted coldly and abruptly shook off An Kexin without any courtesy.
"You brought this on yourself!"
He said angrily.
An Kexin had become as thin as paper, and when Zhou Jin’an shook her off, the force was so great that she, weak as she was, could not resist the fall and slumped to the ground.
"An Ge, I know I was wrong, I really do."
She lay on the ground, crawling closer to Zhou Jin’an again.
She grabbed his trouser leg, holding onto his leg and looking up at him with a face full of tears.
"Big brother, don’t waste words on this viper of a woman."
Zhou Chucheng spoke coldly.
He stepped forward, grabbed An Kexin’s arm with one hand, and forcefully dragged her away.
"I warn you, better stay far away from my big brother, or else—"
He stretched out his finger toward An Kexin’s face and said viciously.
Then, he turned and walked briskly back to Zhou Jin’an.
"Let’s go, big brother. This kind of woman is not worth our pity."
Two equally tall and handsome men thus walked out of An Kexin’s sight.
She was incredibly unwilling to let it end like this.
At Ding Hao’s, she had lost her value.
With the child gone from her belly, she no longer had support in this vast world.
And Zhou Jin’an was the only straw she could possibly grasp.
"An Ge, don’t you want to know who caused Qiao En’s miscarriage? I know, I can tell you."
Just as Zhou Jin’an was about to walk away, An Kexin called out to him with all her strength.
Zhou Jin’an momentarily paused, but he did not turn around.
Zhou Chucheng, however, strode toward An Kexin, "Speak, who was it?"
He ordered sharply.
But An Kexin did not answer; she just stared steadfastly at Zhou Jin’an’s retreating back.
"An Ge, don’t you want to know?"
Even at this moment, she played the game of cat and mouse.
Fearing Zhou Jin’an would be fooled, Zhou Chucheng casually called over a waiter, saying, "Let security come over and take this woman away."
"Yes, sir."
The waiter obeyed and promptly notified security; shortly after, two uniformed security officers came in.
"Miss, please come with us."
They made a polite "please" gesture to An Kexin.
An Kexin slowly straightened up from the ground, "An Ge, I can help you identify the murderer."
To identify Ding Hao meant she was putting herself in the most dangerous situation.
An Kexin made a desperate choice.
Zhou Chucheng wanted to say something, but he did not open his mouth.
This was Zhou Jin’an’s private matter, one that he needed to decide on his own.
He just cast his gaze toward Zhou Jin’an’s broad back.
However, Zhou Jin’an, without uttering a word, walked straight into the private room.
"Miss, let’s go."
Seeing that An Kexin was unwilling to move voluntarily, the waiter stepped forward, each taking an arm, and began to lead her away.
"Hold on."
Zhou Chucheng suddenly intervened.
"Come with me."
He too walked toward the private room. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
An Kexin shook off the hands of the two men and followed in Zhou Chucheng’s footsteps into the private room.
"Close the door."
Zhou Chucheng issued an order.
An Kexin was very obedient, and she immediately closed the door.
In the main seat, Zhou Jin’an sat enveloped in a cold aura.
Zhou Chucheng sat down next to Zhou Jin’an, picked up the teacup, took a sip of water, and said, "Now tell me everything you know."
"Yes."
An Kexin stealthily glanced at Zhou Jin’an with her eyes.
Throughout it all, there wasn’t a single superfluous expression on Zhou Jin’an’s face.
"About a week before Ding Hao and Qiao En got married, he suddenly contacted me, asking how much I hated Qiao En? I didn’t know his intentions, so I told him the truth, but what I didn’t expect was that he asked me to do something for him. He said, as long as that thing was done well, Qiao En would disappear from this world forever, and I would be able to be with An Ge."
"What thing?"
Zhou Jin’an asked.
"He asked me to contact someone, and then to give him a sum of money in my name, what exactly it was for, I wasn’t sure."
"You weren’t sure and you still did it for him? An Kexin, did a donkey kick your head?"
Zhou Chucheng couldn’t hold back and cursed sharply.
An Kexin’s head hung very low, "It was only later that I found out, the person he asked me to contact was the van driver who was driving Qiao En, and the money was his hush money. Later, Qiao En was in a car accident, and everyone thought she was dead. It was only after she came back to life that I realized what Ding Hao had me do, was to take Qiao En’s life."
"That time I got beaten by Qiao De, it was Ding Hao who took me in. He had me admit all the charges first, saying he would find a way to get me out. I was really at the end of my rope then, he promised me a large sum of money, so... I was confused and did as he said."
"But I didn’t expect that he would..."
An Kexin couldn’t continue, and she sobbed.
After listening, Zhou Chucheng burst into curse, "Fuck, you’re simply brainless, aren’t you? You’d dare to commit murder? He told you to take the blame and you just did, you fucking deserve it!"
"Any evidence?"
Zhou Jin’an asked.
While Zhou Chucheng was cursing fervently, he leaned back in his chair, yet was exceptionally calm.
An Kexin raised her head to look at Zhou Jin’an, her pitiful eyes now completely moist with tears.
Her lower lip trembled as if she was about to explode with grievance.
The tears slid down from one eye, and would undoubtedly have touched the heart of anyone else.
But Zhou Jin’an was not those people, he was unmoved.
"No."
An Kexin shook her head.
"You don’t even have evidence, who can prove what you’re saying is true? You said you could point him out, how would you do that without proof?"
Zhou Chucheng yelled.
"I, I am the evidence. He made me pregnant, and then he let those people mistreat me and caused me to miscarry, he deserves to die."
"That’s between you and him, don’t think about using my brother’s hand to take your revenge. If you want Ding Hao to pay, come up with evidence; otherwise, get out!"
Zhou Chucheng was extremely inhospitable.
"An Ge, you believe me, I really am innocent."
An Kexin then turned to Zhou Jin’an.
His cold gaze merely swept over her indifferently, "You may leave, I’ll look into it thoroughly. If this matter has anything to do with you, I will make sure you’d wish you were dead."
"Don’t you leave yet!"
Zhou Chucheng shouted angrily.
Although An Kexin did not want to leave, staying any longer would only make her more despised.
So, she turned around and walked out of the private room with an air of awkwardness.
"Big brother, please don’t believe this woman’s words, she and Ding Hao are like dogs biting each other, trying to splash each other with mud," Zhou Chucheng advised.
"Hmm."
Zhou Jin’an responded indifferently.
"How’s the task I assigned you coming along?" Zhou Jin’an changed the topic.
Zhou Chucheng immediately began his report with utmost respect, "The acquisitions you asked me to make, I’ve completed three of them, and the last two should be finalized this week."
"Any suspicions from An Jinhua?"
"No," Zhou Chucheng shook his head, "He thinks I’m trying to expand my power, he can’t imagine that you and I have already joined forces."
"Big brother, what are you really planning to do?"
Zhou Chucheng asked curiously.
The dishes had all been served, all favorites of Zhou Jin’an.
But his appetite seemed poor; he tried each only with a brief taste.
"You’ll know when the time comes."
