Plunder-Chapter 248 Punishing the Evil
"The child and I are both fine."
Qiao En understood Zhou Jin’an’s thoughts, so she promptly gave him a sedative.
Zhou Jin’an bent down and kissed Qiao En’s forehead.
He hugged her and suddenly couldn’t hold back his tears.
In front of so many people, he couldn’t control his emotions.
Tears leaped out from his eyes, and Qiao En struggled to lift one arm to encircle his neck.
"I’m all right, really all right, just need some rest."
Zhou Jin’an nodded desperately.
"I’m sorry, it’s all my fault, I didn’t take care of you two."
His self-reproach intensified.
"Silly, how could it be your fault? It was my own carelessness."
Soon, Qiao En was pushed into the ward.
Zhou Jin’an stayed by Qiao En’s side without leaving for a moment.
Accidents are everywhere; he was terrified that she would suffer any more harm.
"You’re a patient too, you need to rest as well, I’m really fine."
Qiao En kept persuading him, but Zhou Jin’an wouldn’t listen. He insisted on staying by Qiao En’s side, just holding her hand.
"It’s just a little scrape, it’s nothing."
That day, Cheng Lu returned.
He didn’t expect that he would have to report to the hospital as soon as he came back.
Zhou Jin’an had an accident, and so did Qiao En. The husband and wife were both lying in the hospital beds.
"Director Zhou."
Cheng Lu had something to ask for, but at this moment, he didn’t say anything.
Zhou Jin’an looked deeply at Cheng Lu, noticing the guilt in his eyes.
"It’s trivial, nothing to do with you."
But Cheng Lu was a meticulous person; as soon as he returned, he immediately contacted people to retrieve and carefully compare the hospital’s surveillance.
In the process of comparison, he quickly found a problem.
The woman who hit Qiao En, although dressed all in black with a mask and a duckbill cap, he recognized her at first glance.
Zhou Jin’an’s accident happened in the alley outside the hospital, where there was no surveillance, so they had no idea who had knocked down Zhou Jin’an.
However, finding the culprit wasn’t difficult.
There were cameras on the street at the entrance of the alley, and Cheng Lu watched all of them.
Fortunately, he found that motorcycle in the surveillance footage.
In less than five hours, he had caught the culprit.
"Director Zhou, I’ve found everyone."
Sometimes, even Zhou Jin’an was amazed at Cheng Lu’s efficiency.
"What’s the situation?"
Zhou Jin’an asked in a low voice.
Cheng Lu sighed heavily, "The person who knocked down Young Madam is An Kexin, and the one who hit you is Yao Jian."
Zhou Jin’an’s eyes darkened.
"Where are they?"
"I’ve had people take them to the warehouse, how would you like to handle it?"
Zhou Jin’an’s temples started to throbbingly pulse again. At this moment, he just wanted to vent his raging anger.
"Let’s go."
He stood up.
Before leaving, Cheng Lu instructed four bodyguards to protect Qiao En outside the ward.
In the warehouse.
There were two large sacks on the ground.
The black, dark color barely concealed the whimpering sounds from within.
Cheng Lu led Zhou Jin’an inside and turned on the warehouse lights as they entered.
Light seeped through the gaps into the sacks, and something inside began to move.
"Open them."
Zhou Jin’an gave the order, and Cheng Lu immediately complied.
Soon, the sacks were open and An Kexin and Yao Jian appeared before Zhou Jin’an.
Yao Jian hung his head, his muffled attempts to speak through his sealed mouth.
But Zhou Jin’an didn’t want to listen to anything; he picked up a stick and started beating Yao Jian’s back furiously. Yao Jian couldn’t take much of a beating and soon passed out.
An Kexin was terrified, her eyes wide with fear.
Cheng Lu stood aside, his expression cold and impartial.
"I will settle this account with you slowly."
Zhou Jin’an tore the black tape from An Kexin’s mouth with a jerk.
She didn’t speak but started to cry and laugh like a madwoman.
"Don’t pretend to be crazy or stupid with me, I’m not buying it."
Zhou Jin’an thundered.
Yet, An Kexin acted as if she hadn’t heard, still smiling foolishly.
Seeing Zhou Jin’an glaring at her, she puckered her lips and began to cry again.
"Wu wu wu... Daddy is scolding me."
She actually called Zhou Jin’an "Daddy."
"Director Zhou, she’s gone mad."
Cheng Lu reminded.
From any angle, An Kexin’s words and deeds seemed like those of a lunatic.
More than half of her body was still nestled in a sack, contorted and coiled on the ground like a worm, wriggling and inching toward Zhou Jin’an’s feet.
"Daddy, I’m so hungry, I want to eat."
Zhou Jin’an was utterly disgusted and kicked her away.
An Kexin cried like a child, "Daddy, it hurts."
"Before I found her, I heard she had been threatened, sometimes lucid, sometimes delirious."
Cheng Lu explained.
But Zhou Jin’an didn’t believe it.
"Whether you’re really crazy or faking it, I warned you not to mess with Qiao En. An Kexin, you’re courting death."
Zhou Jin’an glared at her viciously.
An Kexin kept shrinking back, "I’m scared, I’m so scared."
She really deserved her status as a queen of drama, with a quick entry into character and a convincing performance.
"Contact Anding Hospital, have her committed. Without my permission, no one is allowed to release her."
In front of An Kexin, Zhou Jin’an gave the order.
Cheng Lu immediately complied.
"Daddy, no, I don’t want to leave Daddy."
An Kexin was stunned.
But soon, she began to cry and make a fuss like a child again.
Soon, the people arranged by Cheng Lu arrived, and An Kexin was lifted and tossed into the trunk.
"Seal her mouth."
Zhou Jin’an said again.
An Kexin’s voice abruptly ceased.
With An Kexin gone, the warehouse seemed much quieter.
"Wake him up."
Zhou Jin’an stood tall and imposing, exuding a murderous aura.
Without any courtesy, Cheng Lu kicked Yao Jian in the shin.
He woke up quickly amidst the pain.
"Kill or slash me, as you please."
Yao Jian endured the pain, with great beads of cold sweat sliding down his forehead.
"Good."
Zhou Jin’an raised his foot and kicked down on his shin.
A heart-rending scream ensued as Yao Jian’s shinbone broke.
"If you dare, kill me."
Yao Jian was in pain, but his words were tough.
"Killing you would be too kind, wouldn’t it?"
Zhou Jin’an’s lips curved into a chilly arc.
"Ptui! You hurt Niannian to that extent, death is too lenient for you, I only regret not killing you in the crash today!"
Yao Jian had done all this for Su Nian.
"So, you’ll never have the chance again."
Zhou Jin’an’s voice was cold to the extreme.
Yao Jian’s eyes, full of resentment, were fixed on Zhou Jin’an.
"Even as a ghost, I won’t let you off."
Zhou Jin’an’s foot rested on his broken bone, gradually increasing the pressure, causing Yao Jian’s face to contort with pain.
He and Su Nian had grown up together in an orphanage, sharing a deep bond.
After Su Nian was adopted and her life turned less fortunate, they met again, and Yao Jian became Su Nian’s protector.
If she wanted to kill, he would sharpen the knife for her; if she wanted to start a fire, he would gather the wood for her.
"You have no chance now."
Zhou Jin’an pressed down again.
He had always been aware of Yao Jian’s existence, but never realized that their collusion ran so deep.
Yao Jian, unwilling to accept the situation, glared at Zhou Jin’an furiously.
"Director Zhou, hand him over to the police. He’s complicit in all the crimes Su Nian committed."
Zhou Jin’an nodded.
He watched Yao Jian expressionlessly and said, "Hand him over to the police, make sure a few brothers take good care of him, and don’t let him die."
"Zhou Jin’an, may you not die a good death!"
Yao Jian cursed through gritted teeth.
But the victor was the king, the vanquished the bandit; this had been the truth since ancient times.
Cheng Lu quickly arranged everything. Yao Jian was taken away and sent straight to the police station.
With these matters dealt with, Zhou Jin’an felt somewhat more settled.
Recently, he had indeed been negligent, allowing villains to exploit the opportunity.
Fortunately, this time Qiao En had not met with any mishap; otherwise, he would never be able to forgive himself.
An Kexin had been taken to Anding Hospital, and Yao Jian had been sent to the police station.
These two threats had been temporarily removed.
But there was still one villain at large.
Whenever Zhou Jin’an thought of him, his eyes darkened even more.
