Chapter 428 - 427: Participating in the Evaluation

Cain briefly observed the Breeders' Guild building in Saffron City before stepping inside.

As with other League organizations, identity verification was required to enter the Breeders' Guild.

After showing his League ID card to the guard, Cain was granted access to the guild building.

The place was bustling with activity.

The Breeders' Guild was not only home to breeders but also frequented by many League trainers.

Some trainers needed Pokéblocks and often came here to purchase them.

Stronger trainers would visit the guild to order custom-made Pokéblocks from advanced-level breeders.

Of course, these custom Pokéblocks came with a high price tag that not everyone could afford.

Being able to supply advanced-level Pokéblocks to all their main Pokémon was already an achievement.

Cain briefly wandered through the sales area but, having nothing in mind to buy, headed directly to the breeders-only section.

Most Breeders' Guild buildings were organized similarly: the first floor was a sales area where common Pokéblocks could be purchased.

The second floor was a mixed-use area for both breeders and trainers.

Here, trainers could find suitable breeders to commission Pokéblocks.

Starting from the third floor, the areas were exclusive to breeders, and non-breeders were not allowed to enter.

The third floor was where breeder evaluations were conducted; the fourth floor was reserved for novice breeders.

The fifth floor was for intermediate breeders, and the sixth floor was for advanced breeders.

The seventh floor was reserved for the guild's deputy director and elders, with entry strictly prohibited without authorization.

Unauthorized entry could disrupt ongoing breeder experiments, potentially causing severe consequences.

When a breeder is researching how to create a new type of Pokéblock, meticulous precision is required; even a variation as small as a milligram can affect the outcome.

For this reason, access to the seventh floor was strictly forbidden.

Even on the sixth floor, those who were not advanced breeders were barred from entry.

Each floor had very strict regulations.

This time, however, Cain only needed to go to the third floor; swiping his League ID card at the entrance was enough to grant him access.

After all, it was a semi-public area primarily used for breeder evaluations.

Upon entering, a staff member greeted everyone arriving on the third floor.

"Hello, are you here for the breeder evaluation?" the employee asked with a professional smile, showing slight surprise at Cain's youthful appearance but maintaining a polite tone.

Cain nodded.

"Please proceed to the counter to pick up a form and fill in the required information. Afterward, you'll take a simple test. We appreciate your understanding," the employee explained, gesturing to the reception desk across the hall with a smile.

Though Cain looked young, in the Pokémon world filled with talented individuals, she had seen other young participants take these evaluations. Of course, most of them failed to pass.

That said, passing the breeder evaluation wasn't typically achieved on the first try. Some people had to attempt it thirty times before succeeding.

However, once they passed, a breeder's value skyrocketed.

For this reason, staff always maintained a positive attitude toward anyone entering the third floor.

They might not succeed today, but who knows what the future holds? Better not to make an unnecessary enemy.

Cain thanked her and headed to the counter.

"Hello, sir, may I see your ID card and have you fill out this form?" the receptionist said with a smile as she handed him the registration form.

She then scanned Cain's ID card in the computer, registering his information.

Regardless of the outcome, all participants were considered potential future assets for the League, so keeping records was essential.

Cain reviewed the form and quickly filled it out.

He was then guided to a small room with only a table, a chair, and a sheet of paper.

This was a basic knowledge test.

As a breeder evaluation site, hundreds of people could register here daily. If each individual were assessed personally, the staff would be overwhelmed.

For this reason, before the initial breeder evaluation, all participants had to fill out a basic question sheet. Only those who met the standard could proceed. Otherwise, they would be eliminated in the first round.

Ninety percent of participants were eliminated in this phase, as the questions, though basic, were far from simple.

However, for Cain, with his system, this was a breeze.

The system scanned the test questions and quickly generated all the answers in Cain's mind.

These weren't just template answers but results derived from the system's big data simulations.

Though Cain relied on the system to make Pokéblocks and learn about breeding, he had gradually accumulated substantial knowledge in this field over time.

While he wasn't yet at the level of an intermediate breeder, these basic questions posed no challenge.

The system processed them quickly, so Cain avoided overthinking.

Twenty minutes later, Cain emerged from the room with the completed test.

The receptionist, seeing him exit so quickly, couldn't help but show a surprised expression.

So fast?

Did he just answer randomly?

However, upon seeing the answer sheet filled with writing, she was even more astonished.

"Please wait a moment," the employee said and quickly left with the answer sheet.

Cain had no choice but to wait.

They hadn't expected someone to finish the test so quickly; the examiner hadn't even arrived yet.

Five minutes later, the employee returned with a middle-aged man wearing glasses who seemed highly educated.

The receptionist whispered something to the man before apologetically smiling at Cain and leaving.

"Young man, did you complete this test?" the man asked with a smile, holding up the answer sheet.

"Yes," Cain replied, glancing at the test.

"Incredible! At such a young age, having such a deep understanding of the fundamentals of breeding is truly impressive," the man said, looking at the sheet filled with answers, admiration evident in his tone.

Another employee brought over the information form Cain had filled out earlier and handed it to the middle-aged man.
