Pokémon Court-Chapter 464: Aura Sphere
Yami was the runner-up in this year’s Lily of the Valley Conference. After narrowly losing to the champion, he declined an invitation from Sinnoh’s local Trainer club and once again embarked on a journey of training alone, determined to claim the championship in the next Lily of the Valley Conference.
Challenging powerful Pokémon and battling strong Trainers—these were Yami’s main objectives for the year.
Some time ago, he had heard that a powerful Absol resided in this mountain range. However, after two days of searching, he had yet to catch a glimpse of it.
“A wild Pokémon? No, it looks like someone’s up there.”
“They seem strong. Then I’ll choose them as my opponents. Magmar, use Flamethrower to block their path.”
Yami gave his order to Magmar.
However, the two people above clearly had no intention of stopping for him. After a brief pause… they attempted to fly away again. Yami had no choice but to have Magmar intercept them a second time.
This time, Altaria and Aerodactyl above finally stopped.
“Hey, you.”
A hand landed on his shoulder, sending a shiver through Yami’s entire body. He quickly turned around, only to find a brown-haired Trainer looking at him with an unfriendly expression. Beside him stood a Gallade.
“You and that Magmar were the ones who used the Flamethrower to block us?” Terrance asked.
“Yes, that was me, but why are you…” Yami looked up at the sky in shock, then back at Terrance.
At this moment, Altaria and Aerodactyl also began descending. After jumping down from Aerodactyl, Albus immediately sighed in exasperation, “Why did you suddenly go down?”
“I just wanted to check things out first with Gallade.” Terrance shrugged.
“Your Gallade… it’s proficiency of Teleport has reached this high?!” Albus was astonished.
He had battled every one of Terrance’s Pokémon before and now can be said to know him very well. Gallade and Terrance’s Arcanine, in particular, had appearances and battle styles that perfectly suited Albus’s taste, making him envious for a long time.
“Yeah.” Terrance nodded.
Gallade’s Teleport had improved once again, and the reason was… Gallade had mastered a new move.
Calm Mind!
The reason Gallade learned it was because Terrance had a sudden idea—he made Gallade practice the meditation method he had acquired. Although it showed no effect at first, Terrance later found the Calm Mind’s training method which specifically suited Psychic-type Pokémon.
This was also the first Psychic-type move that Gallade had mastered.
Although this move couldn’t be used as an attack, because Gallade incorporated Calm Mind into its daily training, its Teleport unexpectedly improved once again. Gallade had already reached a high level of proficiency with Teleport, but now, due to it learning Calm Mind, Terrance saw the potential for Gallade to refine its Teleport to an even greater level.
“If that Teleport can improve even further…” Albus’ lips twitched, feeling at a loss.
“But now, you should explain why you blocked our way.” Albus looked at Yami with a menacing expression.
Anyone would be irritated if they were riding a flying Pokémon through the air and got intercepted by two Flamethrowers.
“You’re Trainers, right? How about we have three battles?” Yami looked at the three of them with interest. Altaria, Aerodactyl, and Gallade… They all seemed very strong.
Even his Magmar had displayed excitement when Altaria and Aerodactyl flew past. His Magmar was extremely battle-hungry—the stronger the opponent, the more excited it became.
As expected…
The three had already suspected this. Though they were annoyed, they didn’t bother to say much. However, Albus had already made up his mind—if it was a battle Yami wanted, then so be it. He would crush him.
In the end, it was Yami who spoke up again. “A 2v2. I’ll send out six Pokémon, taking turns to battle each of you…”
“No.” Albus interrupted.
“Uh… Do you not want to battle? Or are you dissatisfied with the rules? How about—” Yami was unwilling to leave empty-handed. If he missed the chance to battle such powerful Trainers, this trip would have been for nothing.
“Who said I was refusing to battle?” Albus said. “We’re in a hurry, so we need to get this over with quickly. I alone am enough.”
After a casual glance at Magmar, Albus fixed his gaze on Yami.
“How arrogant!” Yami was enraged. “Fine, let’s see what you’ve got.”
Terrance and Fujiki watched the two from the side and shook their heads. However, Terrance didn’t agree with the Trainer who had stopped them…..
“This isn’t arrogance… It’s confidence…” Terrance murmured. At the very least, aside from his Mega Evolved Altaria, he didn’t have a single Pokémon that could match Albus’s Lucario. Even his Aerodactyl and Gyarados had already reached the level where they could crush an ordinary League Conference champion.
If the Elite Four didn’t step in, Terrance really couldn’t think of anyone who could handle this Lucario.

“Then I’ll act as the referee.” Fujiki, clearly accustomed to such situations, said calmly.
“Then I… will just watch?” Terrance said.
“You two just sit back and watch.”
“The Pokémon I’m sending out is Lucario.” Albus tossed his Poké Ball.
“Not that Aerodactyl or Altaria?” Yami was taken aback, then turned to look at Lucario… There didn’t seem to be anything special about it. However, what was this oppressive aura he was feeling?
“You’re up, Magmar.” Yami said with a serious expression.
“Do you know? The mystical waves that Lucario can emit when it focuses is called Aura. Just a small release of it can shatter massive boulders.” Albus grinned. Unlike when he battled Terrance, he wasn’t silent this time. The moment the battle started, he gave a direct command: “Aura… Sphere!”
In the next moment, though Lucario was staring straight at its opponent, it was as if it had just opened eyes that had long been sealed shut. Its movements were like a mirage, with its hands moving at an incredible speed. A powerful aura immediately erupted out, and the instant Lucario thrust its hands forward, Yami and Magmar’s pupils rapidly shrank, feeling the heavy sensation of the air in front being compressed by the intense fluctuations.
Boom!!
In just an instant, the deep blue Aura Sphere struck Magmar. It had no chance to dodge. Even after Magmar was blasted away, traces of the Aura Sphere’s trajectory still lingered in the air.
This wasn’t the first time Terrance had witnessed Albus’s Lucario using Aura Sphere. Even Altaria couldn’t withstand two of them head-on. Watching Magmar being blown away, Terrance couldn’t help but feel sympathetic.
Just as Albus had said—he alone was more than enough.
“Send out your next Pokémon.” Albus said.
