Riley Perry looked at him innocently, her voice intentionally a couple of notches louder. "Isn’t this how it’s supposed to be? I see everyone else doing it."

Just then, the crew was resetting the set. The director took a sip from his water bottle and glanced their way.

Raymond Warren had been brought in by the assistant director. The original actor for the fourth male lead had been caught in a scandal—and yes, he was also from Starmaker Entertainment.

Riley Perry blinked her beautiful peach-blossom eyes, smiling sweetly at Raymond Warren. "Alright, alright, don’t look so glum. Your part later only has five lines. The first is: Miss Sutton, I’m Homer Sawyer. My father is Saul Sawyer, the mayor of Seaborne. I’m sure you’ve heard of him. I was wondering if Miss Sutton would do me the honor of joining me for dinner?

Director Quinn chuckled. "Riley Perry, did you memorize everyone else’s lines, too?"

Riley Perry looked in Director Quinn’s direction and said with an air of pure innocence, "Isn’t it to better immerse myself in the character? So when I got the script, I gave it a good read-through. I remember pretty much everyone’s lines, especially for the scenes I’m in. For those, I definitely remember them down to the last word."

She grabbed Riley Perry’s mischievous little hand, glanced at the young pretty boy standing there foolishly, then turned back and whispered in Riley Perry’s ear, "He’s clearly here for you. You two don’t look like you knew each other before. Did you... offend someone?"

The deck chair creaked. Riley Perry had already gotten up and walked over to Raymond Warren. "So? Have you memorized them? Then let’s start."

Raymond Warren’s expression soured from the scolding, but he still tried to explain, "Second Uncle, just give me some more time. Three days is too short."

"But once her scenes are done filming, she’ll leave the set. How are you going to seduce her then?"

Raymond Warren gritted his teeth. "Where there’s a will, there’s a way. If that doesn’t work, I’ll just get her some resources. As long as I can arrange for us to spend time together, how could a little country girl like her not fall for me?"
