Practicing Medical Skills in a Small Clinic-Chapter 271 - 157: Second Expansion, A Strong Sense of Belonging (Part 2)
The elderly folks who Xiaogao loved the most didn’t need much convincing.
They had retired and loved getting caught up in the excitement like this.
Fortunately, the small clinic had addressed some oversights, such as invoicing.
After an incident, Li Jingsheng preferred earning less money to legally paying taxes. Otherwise, if investigations occur, it could all go to waste—a loss not worth the risk.
Also, the medicine sold by the clinic comes in a high-end packaging bag, stamped with a genuine mark, which they do extremely well.
At the very least, the customer’s experience of purchasing medicine is fantastic.
Li Jingsheng called the phone number left by the female intern doctor who applied last time.
"Hello, hi!"
After the call connected, a somewhat lazy young girl’s voice came through.
"Is it Han Siying?"
"Yes! Who’s this?"
She appeared quite cautious.
Nowadays, phone scams are rampant and omnipresent. Everyone fears being deceived.
Especially girls, getting tricked into going to some foreign park area would be a fate worse than death.
"I’m Li Jingsheng from Sunshine Clinic, just wondering if you’ve found a job yet?"
"Oh, it’s you! I’ve looked at two places after that, wasn’t quite satisfied, so I didn’t take them. I’m actually planning to follow a friend’s advice and try interviewing at a private hospital next month!"
She was somewhat excited to learn it was Li Jingsheng calling.
"I’m looking to hire another person for my small clinic now. Are you interested? The offer remains as previously discussed, with about a month’s probationary period. After passing probation, you can earn some commissions like our permanent staff."
Li Jingsheng also knew that this female intern doctor was very talented.
And exceptionally ambitious.
If the offer is too low, she might not come at all.
"Really! I saw your clinic on the television news yesterday! When can I come for the second interview?"
She asked excitedly.
"I don’t doubt people I hire, nor do I hire people I doubt. I had a great impression of you last time—no need for a second interview. You can start working today, if that’s convenient for you."
Li Jingsheng added.
"Alright, I’ll come right over! It’ll take about twenty minutes or so! Do I need to bring anything?"
"Just bring your files with you. If you perform well today, we can sign the employment contract directly. As for dressing, avoid anything too revealing. What you wore when you first visited my clinic was great."
The two seemed destined.
For all this time she still hadn’t found a suitable job.
It saved Li Jingsheng from having to post another recruitment notice.
About twenty minutes later, Han Siying arrived with her canvas bag.
Seeing so many people inside the clinic, she was taken aback.
Compared to last time, Sunshine Clinic seemed to have transformed remarkably.
This small clinic was quite remarkable indeed.
"Hello, boss, I’m here!"
"That was quick! I’ll take you over; you can first assist Dr. Gao in selling medicine. Make sure to ask questions if unsure, avoid any mistakes. Dr. Gao is warm, you shouldn’t be afraid to ask him anything."
Li Jingsheng greeted the patients and escorted her to the counter.
"Dr. Gao, this is Dr. Han, who will be learning from you temporarily to sell medicine. Please teach her well."
"Welcome, welcome! Actually, there’s a lot I don’t know either; we’ll just ask the boss together when needed."
Xiaogao noticed how quickly the boss hired someone.
She was a pure and lovely young woman, which delighted him greatly.
"Dr. Gao, she’s all yours." After saying this, Li Jingsheng turned to Han Siying. "The restroom is over there, just enter through that door to find it. For water, just use the dispenser."
"Alright, thank you, boss."
Even small things like drinking water and restroom use were considered by the boss.
She felt quite warm-hearted.
Li Jingsheng briefed her and went back to the clinic desk to continue his tasks.
With an extra helping hand, the staff shortage within the clinic was greatly alleviated.
They busied themselves continuously until half-past noon, leaving only one customer who needed medicine—a grandma with apparent hearing issues.
Xiaogao attended to her patiently.
Li Jingsheng had two more patients to diagnose, but the boxed meals were already ordered.
Four portions.
"Sister Tang, you and Han Siying should eat first, the afternoon’s expected to be busy."
Ladies first, a gentlemanly behavior.
It also reinforced the sense of belonging for the two ladies.
After diagnosing the two patients, it was twelve fifty when Li Jingsheng finally headed to eat.
Xiaogao was already eating.
Tang Ping and Han Siying were almost finished.
After eating, Tang Ping, being an extraordinarily diligent employee, began sweeping the floor.
"Sister Tang, let me do it! Take a break."
Following everyone’s lead, Han Siying called Tang Ping ’Sister Tang’ too.
The two ladies diligently tidied up the messy clinic.
Women are naturally adept at household organization, besides childbirth.
Except for lazy women, of course.
Li Jingsheng noticed Han Siying was quite industrious, feeling pleased.
Though it was only the first day, it could merely be an act.
He ate while pondering today’s patients, mostly treating minor ailments and pains.
One surgical patient couldn’t eat.
That particular patient had developed mixed hemorrhoids, which his small clinic couldn’t operate on.
He could attempt handling common external hemorrhoids by assessing the situation.
Treating internal hemorrhoids, though currently often done using elastic bands around its root to let it fall off naturally, remained beyond his small clinic’s abilities.
