Pretending to Cultivate in Kindergarten-Chapter 365: Finding the Similarities
The Rolls-Royce stopped in front of Hualan Restaurant.
As the car door opened and Jiang Qian got in, one of the restaurant staff members stood at the entrance and gave her a respectful half-bow from a distance.
The car cruised down a brightly lit road.
Ever since she started college, Jiang Qian had been living far from home and couldn’t go back every night. The dorms weren’t convenient either, so just like Jiang Jingshi, she rented an apartment outside and lived with Xiaomeng.
In the back seat, Jiang Qian held the precious gift box in her hands. She stared at it for a while, then looked out the window.
When Xiaomeng came to pick her up, she immediately noticed the box Jiang Qian was holding. It was clearly a gift from someone else.
And the fact that Qianqian was holding it so delicately—there could only be one person who gave it to her.
“Qianqian, did Lin Zhengran give you that gift?”
Jiang Qian nodded, “He gave me a small present—a miniature piano. Said he made it himself.”
Through the rearview mirror, Xiaomeng looked at the blush on Jiang Qian’s face. She felt a twinge of jealousy but was still happy for her. “Sounds like tonight’s dinner went well.”
“It went very well.” Jiang Qian then asked, “By the way, Xiaomeng, how did your analysis of the other girls go tonight? Got any results?”
Hands on the wheel, Xiaomeng frowned slightly at the question. “Qianqian, I actually finished organizing everything. It wasn’t hard to analyze, but the results really surprised me. Take a look for yourself.”
She reached for a notebook on the passenger seat and handed it over.
Jiang Qian gently set the gift box aside and took the notebook from Xiaomeng.
Xiaomeng had top-tier analytical skills and a logical mind, so her conclusions were usually highly accurate.
Jiang Qian flipped open the notebook.
She read carefully through the data on He Qing, Jiang Xueli, and Jiang Jingshi—their hobbies, habits, interests, and usual activities.
And what she found was...
“They’re all different?!”
Xiaomeng nodded, eyes on the road.
“Yep. I mean, I always figured their personalities were different, so their behavior might not line up—but when I really compared the details, I found that He Qing, Jiang Xueli, and the young lady have zero behavioral overlap.
He Qing’s sweet and obedient, with a cute face. She likes taekwondo and reading novels. She’s strong, likes to organize things, and has a big appetite.
Jiang Xueli is cheerful and adorable. She’s into music. Her physical condition is above average. She’s not great at household chores like cooking, but she can manage. Her appetite is moderate.
The young lady—that’s your sister—she’s cold on the outside but warm inside. She’s stunningly beautiful, excellent at business and negotiation. Physically average, but she loves making gourmet food and eats very little, focusing on nutrition.
These are just obvious examples. There are tons of little details too, and none of them match. If we had to find something in common... well, they’re all gorgeous, none of them are bad people, and they all know Lin Zhengran. But that’s clearly not the key to why he likes them, because there are tons of pretty, kind girls around him.”
She glanced at Jiang Qian. “And you fit all three of those points too. So do I. Which just proves those aren’t the deciding factors.”
Jiang Qian frowned. “How can that be? From the looks of it, their lives don’t even intersect... yet somehow they all ended up together.”
“Fate’s funny like that. Jiang Xueli and He Qing—one’s from the south, the other’s from the north. They only became friends because Lin Zhengran was the link between them. They met by coincidence, and since they both liked him, they became close. Same with your sister.”
Xiaomeng added, “To put it simply, if Lin Zhengran hadn’t been that link, these three probably would’ve never even met, let alone become friends. As for Han Wenwen, she and He Qing were childhood besties. But that girl…”
She continued, “That girl’s... special. I’ve never had the chance to interview her, but just from observation, I can tell she’s nothing like the other three. So among Lin Zhengran’s four girlfriends, I can’t find a single common trait.”
Jiang Qian flipped through the notes with a detached expression. “So basically, when it comes to girls, Lin Zhengran’s got a huge appetite.”
Xiaomeng couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Yeah. Back in high school, I once asked Lin Zhengran what kind of girls he liked. He told me he didn’t have a particular type—he liked all kinds. I thought he was brushing me off, but turns out he really wasn’t lying.”
Jiang Qian looked up from the notebook.
“Even if they seem totally different on the surface, there has to be something they have in common. My sister, He Qing, Jiang Xueli, Han Wenwen… there’s something they all share that triggers his feelings. Otherwise, why them? Lin Zhengran’s not exactly short on admirers.”
“True. And the weirdest part? Han Wenwen knows what that trait is. She knows the answer.”
Jiang Qian closed the notebook. “Think we can get her to tell us?”
“Doubt it. In my opinion, Han Wenwen’s the most unusual of the four. She technically has a guardian, but her profile shows she basically grew up on her own. Ever since she fell for Lin Zhengran, she’s been head-over-heels. Way past normal levels. She holds onto everything related to him—and she sees through everything I do. So if we’re hoping to get anything out of her, we can forget it.”
Jiang Qian let out a long sigh and turned back to the window.
“It’s fine. Keep digging—until we get the answer.”
“Okay. But here’s something weird—Han Wenwen said something to me today. She said even if we do find the answer, it won’t matter. I feel like there’s something more behind her words.”
Jiang Qian stayed quiet for a moment, then turned to look at the gift box beside her, smiling softly.
“Doesn’t matter. One way or another, I’m not going to lose this. I love Lin Zhengran no less than Han Wenwen does.”
“Mm…”
That night, the two girls returned to their apartment. Jiang Qian changed out of her formal gown and slipped into black pajamas.
She opened the gift box Lin Zhengran gave her and placed it on her pillow.
Gently running her fingers over the miniature piano inside, her eyes were full of affection.
She even cuddled it to sleep.
Before they knew it, a few days had passed.
Then came another relaxing weekend.
Inside the three-story villa…
Lin Zhengran woke up in bed early that morning.
He couldn’t move a muscle—on his left, Jiang Jingshi was clinging to his arm, her face nestled near his neck.
On his right, Han Wenwen was holding his other arm, her cheek resting on it.
He Qing and Jiang Xueli were sprawled out across his body. The four girls had gotten used to sleeping like this.
With Lin Zhengran constantly improving their sleep quality, they always slept soundly.
The only downside was, if he tried to get up, they’d all wake up immediately—because they were basically sloths clinging onto him.
Today was unusual—he hadn’t moved yet, but Jiang Jingshi’s long lashes began to flutter. Her eyes slowly opened.
“Zhengzheng? What time is it?”
