Primordial Awakening: I Can Evolve My Skills Infinitely-Chapter 85: The Battle Castle, Amazing Items
Chapter 85: The Battle Castle, Amazing Items
After the first round of battles, more than half of the awakeners had already vanished.
Sam noticed that while many were gone, a decent number of humans still remained.
It meant that most of the humans in the lower ranks, those at the same level as him, had actually won their fights.
’That’s a good sign,’ Sam thought. ’But the elves that’ll remain from now on are probably going to be stronger.’
He wasn’t afraid, just thoughtful.
The early rounds gave weaker opponents. That wasn’t going to last.
Eventually, Sam and the girls, Lily, Alicia, and Chloe, reached the towering gates of the [Battle Castle].
The gates were wide open.
Thousands of awakeners from both worlds, humans and elves alike, walked around the vast plaza inside.
Some moved alone, others in groups, but everyone had the same expression, focused, serious, determined.
Sam stepped inside.
Immediately, his eyes landed on what filled the interior: rows upon rows of glowing items, shields, weapons, staffs, scrolls, artifacts, displayed with their names, descriptions, and prices clearly floating above them.
---
[Shield of Eternity]
[Rank: Epic]
[Description: A shield capable of absorbing attacks. Once broken, it regenerates over the course of a day.]
[Cost: 50 Battle Tokens]
---
[Bow of Oblivion]
[Rank: Epic]
[Description: A bow that amplifies all attacks and reduces casting speed significantly.]
[Cost: 50 Battle Tokens]
---
The entire hall was filled with items like these, laid out like trophies waiting to be claimed.
Sam walked slowly through the aisles, scanning each item.
Most were priced between 10 and 50 Battle Tokens, meaning only those who consistently won would afford them.
And as they advanced through the hall, the prices climbed.
Some displays reached 70 Tokens. Others crossed 90.
That level of gear was clearly reserved for those who survived until the final fights.
"These items are insane..." Lily’s eyes gleamed with excitement. "I get it now. These could seriously change everything."
"Yeah, but no way I’m making it to 100 Tokens," Chloe grinned, walking alongside her. "I’ll aim for something in the 30s or 40s. Play it safe."
They continued through the halls until something caught Alicia’s attention, a sword encased in white crystal, glowing with radiant energy.
---
[Blessed Sword of Orphelia]
[Rank: Legendary]
[Description: A sword blessed by the goddess Orphelia, imbued with five unique and powerful skills accessible only when wielded.]
[Cost: 100 Battle Tokens]
---
"What...?" Lily tilted her head, confused. "We only get seven battles, right? Even if we win them all, that’s just 70 tokens."
Sam crossed his arms. "Maybe you earn more tokens the further you go," he guessed. "Or maybe the number of battles isn’t actually capped at seven."
He pointed toward their status panels, specifically, the part labeled [Number of Battles].
"If it was just seven, it would’ve said something like ’3 of 7.’ But it’s just a counter. That means there might be more."
The girls nodded. It made sense.
And as they continued forward, the items became even more expensive, some marked at 150 Tokens, others at 250.
Eventually, they reached the far end of the hall.
It was nearly empty. No crowds, no noise.
And at the very center of this quiet space was a tall obsidian platform, bathed in soft white light.
Atop it floated a single item.
---
[Forsaken Skill Scroll]
[Rank: Forsaken]
[Description: Grants a skill of immense power, shaped directly by your class and path.]
[Cost: 500 Battle Tokens]
---
"...Holy shit," Chloe whispered.
It was by far the most expensive item in the entire [Battle Castle].
A single scroll. A single chance at power unlike anything else.
"That’s gotta be the best thing here," Alicia said, her eyes fixed on it.
But as he inspected it...
"Not a single person has ever gotten that scroll," a soft voice could be heard behind them.
Sam turned around and saw Seraphine, the elven saintess, approaching with a kind smile.
"Because we have access to the [Universal Stage], we can talk across worlds," she explained. "And in all that time, not one person across any world has ever earned 500 Tokens. The risk is too high, so the scroll has never been touched."
Sam didn’t even need to activate [Void Watcher] to know she was telling the truth.
[Hell-Mode Analysis: A skill like that would make even a god wary.]
Sam’s eyes gleamed.
His main goal was to survive, get stronger, learn about the other races, and better understand the realm.
But now? He wanted that scroll.
A skill tailored directly to his class, something that would adapt and fuse with his aura and his affinities. fгeewebnovёl.com
That kind of skill couldn’t be ignored.
"I believe there’ll be ways to earn more tokens beyond just winning battles," Seraphine added. "But you should know, the further you go, the more dangerous my people will become. The ones who remain are... aggressive."
Sam noticed the group of elves watching them from across the hall.
Wariness. Suspicion. Maybe even hostility.
Seraphine was trying to help, but in doing so, she may have painted a target on Sam’s back.
She was the saintess of their world, and that meant anything she did was important.
And still—
’If they get in our way,’ Sam thought calmly, ’even if it’s an entire world...’
He didn’t know his origins as the "True Primordial", or if anybody other than the [Forsaken Lords] knew about him, but he felt like it was a much bigger deal.
After that, Seraphine gave them a quiet farewell and left.
Sam and the others followed soon after, leaving the glowing hall behind and heading back into the open streets of the [Battle Kingdom].
They discovered that most of the buildings were actually real, usable. Not decoration.
So they chose a small inn to rest for the night.
Lily, Alicia, and Chloe took one large room together.
Sam took a room beside them.
And just like that, the first day ended.
...
The next morning—
Sam opened his eyes to the familiar blue light of a panel floating above him.
[Your second battle will begin in one hour. Be prepared.]
So the battles happened first thing each day.
He got ready, focused but calm. He knew he would win.
And when the hour passed—
Fwish!
Sam was teleported once more to the arena.
And across from him stood another elf. Taller than the one from the previous day.
Broader. With a sharp jawline, glowing green tattoos on his arms, and a massive staff in hand.
---
[Name: Leonard]
[Rank: Expert]
[Level: 3]
[Class: ???]
---
"You’re the one who spoke to the Saintess," Leonard said, eyes burning. "I’m honored. I get to be the one who kills you."
The elves seemed to consider the saintess, and probably her family, as some sort of divine beings.
And seeing their saintess cozy up with a human was a humiliation for some reason Sam couldn’t understand.
Regardless, he didn’t care much.
He simply raised his hand, and above him, five dark portals began to form, spiraling in a ring.
Slowly, methodically, they merged into one large vortex.
He didn’t need his clone this time.
Leonard noticed the spell forming and smirked. "It won’t be enough."
The staff in his hands crackled.
Lightning exploded outward from the runes as he began to chant.
A swirling mass of lightning formed in front of him, rapidly compressing into a high-speed ball of energy.
Lightning Ball!
"Face the wrath of my strongest attack, human!"
The ball shot toward Sam at lightning speed.
BOOM!
It exploded into a blinding flash, tearing through the arena.
Leonard laughed loudly. "Got you! That’ll earn me recognition for sure, maybe a reward from the royal family—"
The mist faded. And Sam was still standing. Completely unharmed.
Leonard froze.
"Huh...?" he muttered. "Even if you survived, you should be stunned—why are you—?"
He never got to finish the thought.
Sam flicked his wrist.
A thunderous crack echoed across the field as a bullet of pure energy shot out of the merged portal.
Leonard’s eyes widened.
"SHIT—!"
Lightning Barrier!
A glowing dome formed around him, but it wasn’t enough.
BOOM!
The bullet tore through it like paper. Then it hit him in the forehead.
CRACK!
Leonard’s head exploded. His body collapsed to the ground.
Sam walked forward, lifted his sword, and calmly absorbed the heart, the tendrils pulling it into the blade.
He felt the rush of power again, slightly stronger this time.
Ding!
[Battle Complete.]
---
[Sam Walker]
[Battles Fought: 2]
[Wins: 2]
[Battle Tokens: 30]
---
’So I got 20 Tokens this time,’ Sam thought, his eyes narrowing. ’So the further I get... the more I earn.’
It made sense now.
The early rounds weren’t just to thin the numbers, they were to set up a reward system that rewarded those who kept pushing.
Sam was already ahead. And this was only day two.
